Using the newest software as of February 2018 (PiPlay V2.0.7.54 and vorpX V17.3.2) when I try to run Assassin’s Creed Origins I always get “unable to load library dbdata.dll” at launch.
I have turned off Uplay overlay.
vorpX works fine with FarCry4 and Just Cause 3.
Any help please ?
I have lenovo explorer, so most of the games crushin with vorpx after 5-10 min playing. Dont buy it. This is shit software.
Already have it my friend. I bought it for Oculus Rift and I also am getting Lenovo. I would still like an answer to my question though. Anyone know what refresh rate to set for custom resolutions?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Why is it so important? gta 5 gets 45 fps on gtx 1080 with resolution 2880*2160 and it looks pretty amazing for me, but I cant reach the same quality and fps when changing vorpx options autores. far cry 3 just the same( I want try it even more but nvidia custom resolution don’t let it)
But, the more resolution I make the faster vorpx is stuck. Games crashes, (exept alien isolation – it flowing nice) If I change resolution down, games playing stable longer but not much. Sometimes game unfreezes thru 2-3 min. I anticipate vive pro will have the same problem with more streaming requirements.Vorpx driver will stuck all the time.
Not really important. Just want to make sure I’m doing it the right way. I’m pretty burned out on playtesting different settings and would like to hear from Ralf the refresh rate to set to avoid hours wasted doing it the wrong way. I mostly use it for Skyrim and got it the best I can but havent tried to do it the way Ralf stated above. He just left out the Refresh Rate bit. Plus I only got a GTX970 so I really need to eliminate any unnecessary pixels and fps to squeeze out the best performance.

DirectVR is a collection of multiple features that help to make games a better experience when you play them on the headset, it is not linked to the kind of stereo 3D that is available for a game. It can take care of resolution, FOV, settings-tweaks and head tracking. Which of these four potential DirectVR options are available varies from game to game.
Oculus Touch/Vive wands work with almost every game, that is unrelated to DirectVR. You can use the VR controllers to either emulate mouse and keyboard (freely configurable) or a gamepad.
Games that have all four potential DirectVR features are for example the ones below, a lot more have support for at least one of the potential DirectVR features.
Skyrim (original DX9 version is usually the better choice)
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 4
Portal
Portal 2
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 4
Far Cry Primal
Left 4 Dead 2
Mirror’s Edge
Bioshock (DX9)
Bioshock 2 (DX9)
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Dishonored
Deus Ex Human Revolutions
Black Mesa Source
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode 1
Half-Life 2 Episode 2
Aliens Colonial Marines
Dear Esther (Source engine version)
The Stanley Parable
@ haints:
The FOV is auto adjusted by vorpX in Far Cry 4. Provided that worked it is perfectly correct. If you saw a message once when you started the game about the FOV having been changed, everything should be right.
To be sure you can verify whether it worked by checking the game’s ini file.
1. Navigate to [Documents]\My Games\Far Cry 4\[random number]\
2. Open GamerProfile.xml with a text editor
3. Search for FOVScaleFactor
For full VR mode (every other vorpX setting at default) the value should read 1.681856. If it does, the FOV is correct. If not, please send me a mail to support |at| vorpx com.
So, i have tried lenovo explorer with mixed reality. It works with vorpx!! Was playng Alien isolated, and far cry 3.
I thought alien will on full vr too, but it has immersive vr screen only(greatest anyway, but is there chance for no black frame?), far cry lets 360 degrees full view. Tried Tom Clancy’s The Division, and this title starting(get info about no profile, and it will show in 2d), and hung on download location screen(.
Is resolution in vr means very similar to dsr? Cause i have changed it and nothing happened (just smoother view i think) Anyway, gameplaying is very impressive, thank you Ralf for great job.
I don’t use full VR mode.
I use immersive screen mode.
When I launch and play Far Cry Primal, I see depth and it’s great.
When I launch and play Far Cry 3, I see no depth – it’s just a big 2D screen.
What can I do?
Thank you.
Just thought I’d start a conversation about this. I just can’t seem to get into the full VR mode on most games. I vastly prefer playing on Cinema mode with a big FOV, and zoomed in screen. (similar to the new immersive screen mode)
I love cinema mode, but whenever I try the full VR for anything (outlast 2, far cry primal, Prey, etc) it just feels off.
I noticed when I ran Prey in Full VR, the fov seemed way off (way too small) for instance. It seemed so zoomed in that the graphics looked bad too.
I also noticed that there way huge picture warping going on in the new Full VR mode.
Every game I try also, there is quite a bit of brain-strain when moving my head around, caused by the low framerate. Not sure if I just need to tinker with the game settings to get it smoother or what.
It seems much smoother and easier to play with Cinema mode.
I’ll definitely keep playing with the settings. I had a good experience playing skyrim 6 months ago, but still went back to cinema for the mouse and keyboard. I’m sure its possible to get it set up right for certain games, or I’m just missing something as I don’t use full VR very often with VorpX.
Ralf, please we’re the 23rd, and I have reinstall FarCry Primal, Oblivion and FarCry 4… please when do you release the update?
And of course, make a little dragon fight on Skyrim to test how it handle the new drivers :)
I can tell right a way about single player as I play only it – So far I played something like dozen custom team deathmatches and arcade mathes with bots and it works as I said – really great especially if you put on top of good 3D and VR, just insanely good looking game (it looks even better then the original – it supports directx 12, but will not work with vorpX, so I play with DX11).
I haven’t touched the Campaign yet but I don’t see a reason why it would not work – I will let you know once I am back from work and start it finally.
If you ask me, don’t mind those outcry about p2w EA introduced with loot boxes – believe me, it is all completely exaggerated. In fact I played it very little cutting some time from my sleep and yet I have like 2.5k credits, before I even started to play for good. Beside that, if you are not going to play MP or not going to play it for real, then this doesn’t really concern you, just like me.
you can thank all those outcry people for being able to buy heros easily, without those people to unlock one hero you would have to play 40 hours to unlock just ONE hero, EA reduced the cost of heroes thanks to those “outcry” people.
I am sorry if I sounded offensive – that was not my intention. I just think it is exagerated problem and also – do you know – that alongside cutting the amount of credits needed to unlock heroes, EA also cut the amount of credits earned in same proportion? :D Some may find it funny (like me) but some may feel offended. So from what I know outcry had no practical effect.

Can we get Dyling Light to work with Vorpx at all? I have a Vive and would like to get the games working with it. Far Cry 4 seems to crash with this version as well. I’ve got 2 different computers, game and Vorpx and it crashes on both.
Another vote here for DYING LIGHT….
that game is awesome already and I would love to play it in VR

I think I’ve found the solution, or rather someone else had a similar problem and I’ve tried the same solution.
I disabled Crystal Imaging as suggested by forlaunchcast in the thread Various games crashing after about 30-60 minutes.
I’ve played about 2 hours so far and it hasn’t repeated this HMD glitch on me once (got the game crashing on me fairly often at the moment but I think that is just Fallout 3)
