Well, its not only a bummer, i feel kinda mocked by vorpX.
Selling a beta software for 35€ and clearly saying that World of Warcraft is working – but i have the same problem.
Right Click – Start for Oculus – and the game starts “normal” without any difference, so i´m not even able to play it 2D with the Oculus on.
I wish we could get an official statement for this problem.
built in FPS coulter would be amazing, thanks a lot ralf.
yeah Fraps didn’t work for me with vanishing of ethan carter (renamed exe to UDK, using vorpx shortcut), its weird the exe doesn’t even start up when fraps is running.
I tried rivatuner and it’s really odd, doesn’t seem to be working correctly, it puts the result at the very top of the image of where the rift is, so even if i look up with edeg peek I cant see it clearly as its always fixed at the very top, it also says D3D9 followed by the FPS counter, the FPS counter gives broken readings like 8543.1 fps, the only things that work are changing the colour and size of the reading, I can’t change the position.
But it looks like that would be the best one until we get a built in FPS counter, as you can place your FPS counter anywhere and at any size.
I’m on it right now. It’s basically working, but I still can’t promise anything yet due to a potential issue with the Uplay DRM.
You should be able to get into the game though with the current build (no 3D of course without a profile):
1. Go offline in Uplay. This is highly important. Online the game will exit after establishing the connection to the Uplay server, even if the inital hook is successful. Probably Uplay checks for anything unusual in memory and exits if something is found.
2. Disable the ingame overlay in Uplay (might not be necessary but can’t hurt).
3. Hooking probably will take several tries.
4. Once you make it into the game start an offline campaign.
There may be issues with saving checkpoints in offline mode. I’m not 100% sure of that yet. Would be nice to get some feedback in this regard.
I have the same problem. I can’t get to the VorpX config. I’ve done overything you said and it’s still the same. It won’t even work with any game. Most of the time the game launches and the display is all messed up, sometimes the eyes are swapped and It sometimes ignores my settings by changing my resolution to 948×1080. Nothing has worked at all and everything is unplayable. I would really appreciate some help, I havent used this oculus rift on a single game since I got it. It’s just on error piled on another
I was getting ready to try some skyrim again when i noticed after i got onto my character that the view keeps changing constantly! Ill just sit straight and not even turn my head or anything when the camera switches non stop, from third person to first to the edge of the screen to underneath my character to above my character. Ive tried multiple things, unplugging my gamepad, uninstalling nexus mod manager, changing vorpx view options before entering, pressing shift and enter like crazy. I cant think of anything else and unless someone can help me ill never get to try skyrim and thusly will just uninstall the game from absolute anger. Please help with this issue because i cant take it much more.
I’d like to use VorpX for Skyrim (one of the two games I bought it for; the other being StarCitizen and having tried it’s a complete mess to get it working, if someone could make it so it launches into the Rift, better).
At first it didn’t work, but turns out I had SweetFX in the folder. So I deleted those and it worked. It even worked with ENB.
But out of the blue, now it just won’t hook VorpX if I launch skyrim through SKSE_Launcher.exe. Honestly, I need SKSE, it’s not worth it without it, so ÇI’m asking for help. I’ve cleaned the ENB completely from the folder, only being there the files that came with the game (+mods on Data folder) and SKSE.
So… Halp?

I thought Crysis 1-3 were supported now by Oculus? Im having trouble access the Vorpx menu in this game even if I create a shortcut via Vorpx :( It seems to run ok but the view is way tooooo far zoomed in and I cant seem to get the tracking working :(
In regard to the 90° rotation please check your monitor settings in the Windows display config. In most cases you will have to set the display orientation of the Rift to “Portrait”. If you use Windows 8, you might have to set it to “Landscape flipped” instead.
In regard to the zoomed in image, please try one of the things below. You can get most games look almost perfect in this regard. And even for those that do not offer FOV control, neither directly, nor through vorpX, there are functions in vorpX to make them playable, although not in a perfect way.
From best to worst here is what you can do:
1. Set the game FOV directly in the game if it provides to dial in an FOV of 120°,
2. Set the game FOV directly with the vorpX Game Optimizer (vorpX config app) for games that support it.
3. Set the game FOV to 120 manually through an ini tweak or external tool (avaliable for many games, google FOV + game name).
4. Use the 3D FOV Enhancement in the vorpX ingame menu (availabe in Geometry 3D games).
5. Use one of the letterbox aspect ratio modes in the vorpX ingame menu and/or ImageZoom
6. Use the 2D FOV-Enhancement in the vopX ingame menu (be aware that this distorts the image)
If you didn’t do so already, please also check the Quick Reference and the “How to get the most out of vorpX” guide in the documentation. They contain the above information and quite a few more things that also help to make gaming with vorpX more fun.
Updated the list:

So people will update that with games that have geometry 3D and DK2, sounds like a good idea.
Every information you can give would be great (which DK, what modes work, how you got it working if it didn’t hook automatically – like renaming to Arma2.exe for example).
I’ll just put in what I find in the forums and in here, however only I can edit since I don’t want to risk any troll deleting editing stuff – no offense, but it was a lot of work to put that list together even if I was bored ;)
It’s just an overview and in no way a garantue that it actually works on your computer, vorpX is still beta and moody ;)
oh right so you can force vorpx to inject then? do you just change the exe name in windows, I would like to try deus ex 1 and gears of war 1, both those games never injected, but am I right in saying if I change the gears of war exe to armaII exe vorpx will inject?
Yeah any game that you rename to arma2.exe will hook vorpx to believe it’s the real game. Also try UDK.exe, both will hook and work even in geometry 3d, and pls keep us updated of the results.
I was hoping we could build a sort of unofficial centralized list of games not officially supported but still allow for stereo 3d whether that be z3d or geometry3d. I am not talking about games that run but only in 2d. lets be some good beta testers and post our results.
So I will start with one.
Singularity:
It is Bioshock like FPS game. It runs in geometry3d and z3d. The default FOV is way too low and the ini files are not configurable however you can fix the FOV with a 3rd party program called Flawless Widescreen. The default headtracking too sensitive. Turning it down all the way in the game’s menu helps but that makes a gamepad impossible to use. If you want to use a gamepad just turn down the headtracking sensitivity in the Vorpx menu till it feals right with your in game sensitivity options. Takes some trial and error but you can get it perfect. Game runs smooth as butter and with no judder in z3d max settings with a gtx 970. Some judder in geo3d but im sure that can be worked out I just haven’t tried as it looks and feels fantastic already.
I tried Singularity on Steam and Vorpx hooked it but didn’t recognize the game so no 3d at all, did you do something to make it work?
any advice at all to get this working, seems to inject fine and vorpx even says DX11 only which is fine, however there is no way I can see to increase the FOV in the game, will vorpx have support for geometry 3D in this game to enabled to 3D FOV enhancer?
Thank you so much for your quick reply. I’m glad to hear that. Makes me even more excited to get it. Can’t wait!

I don’t know about Apache:AA, but your best bet by far for Oculus action in a helicopter is DCS: Black Shark (or Huey, if you lean that way). It can be dialed down to be pretty game-ish, but it already works with current Oculus headsets. The only downside is the horsepower required to run it, and the res makes it hard to read a HUD or small dials. It’s still pretty excellent.
I imagine EECH will eventually be modded for Oculus, but it’s getting pretty dated.
okay this game seems to be excluded on the list in vorpx, so I decided to remove that exclusion, game seems to work really well, don’t know why it was excluded, but anyway there is a message at the start but I can’t read it all, somethign about 3D.
anyway how can I make a new profile for this game, seems vorpx forgets my settings when I leave this game, even after selecting okay and save
Hello,
I managed to get a copy of skyrim and vorpX, even the dk2 works fine, but when I try to launch Skyrim, it just stays on my monitor and I can’t put in into the rift.
Probably can be fixed with some easy stuff everyone here know, but i don’t, pls help me.
