i’ve been using it for teso for months and never been banned, i use it for FoV, tweaking rendering distances etc.
works great with vorpx.
Ok,I just tried this mod and it can work, even with Vorpx.
My question is, what value for FOV with TESO is it advisable to write inside this MOD to use with a Samsung Odyssey VR headset?
If I get this correctly…TESO would be working on FullVR with Vorpx and headset for the first time, without the need to use immersive mode.
Otherwise, I prefer traditional 3D screen or immersive mode for Vorpx and VR headset with this title specifically.
Thanks for your further suggestions dellrifter22. It’s nice to know that the text is showing for you using G3D. It than is very possible a mod is breaking the text somehow. Today I had a chance to do some more modding to the game after having a frustrating morning even trying to get it to work at all the game would stop during start up. Yeah I really need to try again the vanilla and add mods from there. Again good suggestions I will try later.
I’m testing just out of curiosity other games on the random compatibility list, and my God, this is great.
I just need to be able to get rid of the typical shader effect barrel and black layer, around the Vorpx logo, because it is not necessary for traditional screens. For the rest, this is too good!
Please Ralf, if you read this, I beg you … try to unlock a new “generic” tab for this use with screens, I think it’s possible as a basic release without too much time around.
I just tried some games, and it works perfectly except for what has been said before.
There are some video games that require a lot of interface use, such as TESO, including World Of Warcraft among others, that I would like to be able to play on my 3D TV in this way.
PD: Even Vorpx internal menu is available as always, with the predefined key, which allows you to control 3D force among other options.
I think it deserves too much of a little time effort to release this.
OK, I just got Elder scrolls online working with Vorpx
1st impressions? not good. Not good by a mile.
Is Vorpx and the Valve Index not compatible?
When no mater what settings I use either in Vorpx or in game, it just looks bad.
Could someone please tell me they can even get the game to run in VR mode and be able to see the whole screen.
The only way I can see the in game game menu is if I switch out of VR and go to theater or the other mode, otherwise I can’t see that far to the left.
Here is what I have tried
played with the resolution in game
played with the steamvr settings for this game
played with the FOV (both game and Vorpx)
Played with the zoom.
Nothing helps. it looks bad as well as i cant see the whole screen.
I’ve been drawing up the outline for an upcoming setup guide video for the game Satisfactory, an interesting early-access Epic Games Store title.
While there might still be little details to work out here and there, I’ve written the first draft of my instructions document to get this working (with the help of Eincrou, who’s channel is linked in that document) and I would love to know if those of you who own the game get good results with this procedure.
The document is here:
http://www.interleave-vr.com/docs/VorpXInstructions_Satisfactory.pdf
It’s quite a simple setup given the profile you’ll be getting already has all the correct in-game settings to get started right away. In the eventual video I’ll make, I’ll try to cover the custom resolutions step a bit more clearly with visual helpers.
Hello pintman,
I have so much nostalgia for this game having played it on the xbox 360 back in the day.
Let me know if you end up getting a VR headset like the rift and are able to play it in VR it is definitely some next level stuff. I would recommend having a very good GPU if you want it to run acceptable. I use a GTX 1080ti and it is just barely acceptable fps wise the way I like to play graphics fairly sharp.I have an iron stomach when it comes to this sort of thing and do not suffer from motion or vr sickness.
I like how you described it as the GTA worldscape R* has created.
I’m trying to remember the necessary steps I took to get the thing to work in VR and modded. I’ll try to provide that here later.
In the mean time their are some youtube video’s on the subject that I used.
Unfortunately I’m having difficulty in completing some missions in VR do to the missing text issue but for free roaming and the now and then mission completion its amaze balls just even walking around in first person taking on the body of Niko Belic.
Hello v2VR.
It is quite strange, I have been considering buying an Oculus Rift for £200 off gumtree this past few days and I decided to hop on this forum to see how good the software supports different games etc.
GTA IV is my favourite game of ALL TIME.
Could you please keep in touch with me, I would be interested in getting this game working over all others, I just love the worldscape R* created with their version of NYC in this game.
I have tried to mod this game in the past (ENBs etc) but gave up because of the weird conditions you need to do like downgrading your game (and even then there are disputes as to which version to use etc). Did you have to downgrade?
Hi Maarculus,
my IPD is around 64 or 65mm so I may not be a good reference but I’ve found Oculus’ statement:
“Oculus says that Rift S is ‘best’ for users with an IPD between 61.5mm and 65.5mm”
q.: https://www.roadtovr.com/oculus-rift-s-review-good-choice-for-newcomers-difficult-choice-for-vr-vets/
I’ve read articles from users with IPDs over 70 and they have managed to get pleasent visuals so I guess give it a try? Vorpx should work even if you change your HMD.
Ralf,
I wanted to expand on my other post about VorpX and it rotating the screen.
Recap: VorpX will rotate the screen 95 degrees to the right whenever I enable Edge Peek or bring up the in-game menu (pressing Del). If I do not enable Edge Peek and bring up the in-game menu (pressing Del) that menu is always rotated 95 degrees to the right.
If I load a new game and bring up the in-game menu they will be fine. If I bring up the in-game menu and browse through the different settings/menus but do not actually make any changes it will eventually rotate the game screen and the menu 95 degrees. Once that happens it is all over. I cannot get it to go back.
So I have done the following with no luck in restoring these game to normal:
-Restored every game file that VorpX modified.
-Factory Reset VorpX (no change)
-Reset WMR and calibrated my O+ (no change)
-Rebooted/Cold Started
-Reviewed Steam VR’s settings but they seem fine
-Plugged O+ into different USB3 Ports
Finally, I can play my normal VR games fine (Skyrim VR, Vacation Simulator, Steam VR Home, VR Chat, etc…)
I have all the updates for Windows 10 Pro, Steam, Steam VR and VorpX.
I’m so frustrated with VorpX…
Mark
After hitting “Play” on the startup screen it freezes on the title screen. Game is working in desktop mode on Windows 10 without Vorpx running. Tried running it with admin enabled in Vorpx. Anyone have any ideas? I got it from Steam after having bigger problems with Fallout 3, which I can’t get to recognize the mouse or most keyboard features with or without Vorpx running. Hoping to run the Tale of Two Wastelands mod to play FO3 through NV (and ideally transfer old FO3 saves over if that’s even possible with modded NV.) Mods are not presently installed.
I just got Rift S, and was before playing Skyrim SE. Don’t feel like buying the SkyrimVR and messing with mods again. I’ve been looking through forum posts and can’t seem to find any “all-in-one” post that would show how to get Skyrim SE working through VorpX. I did get VorpX installed and it seems to be injecting, but the game only shows on my monitor screen with VorpX logo on the bottom and nothing in the Rift S headset.
I use 4K monitor. RTX 2080, 32GB RAM and a good i7 8000 series CPU, SSD M.2.
Oculus works fine. When VorpX tries to inject (all latest versions), it sometimes crashes the driver, and even Oculus interface stops showing in the Headset. I have to restart PC to resolve that. I believe before you could reset the headset in the Oculus settings, but I cant see that setting now.
Can someone please point me to a good thread/link, that explains
1. how to properly inject Vorpx into Skyrim SE? Seems to be obvious, but it doesn’t seem to be injecting. I know I need to disable GeForce Experience and probably switch to a single monitor. I can do that. Anything else?
2. what custom resolution should I set on my monitor that would be good for my PC specs and provide smooth gamplay
3. what VorpX settings are preferred for Skyrim SE, I tried one profile, but something wasn’t right.
4. are there any VR specific mods I need to get for Skyrim SE to make the game more enjoyable through VorpX. I currently have about 200 mods, but they are not VR related.
5. Will the Oculus touch controllers work in VorpX, or do I have to download a mod
6. Will the force feedback work for controllers, or do I need a mod. I know there are some heptic mods for controllers, but those mods are for SkyrimVR
7. Any other recommendations, I would greatly appreciate.
I’ll do some more forum browsing, as much as work will allow me, but I’d definitely appreciate some guidance on the above.
Much thanks in advance!
Also, I am really glad that Ralf keeps pushing the envelope further. Bought VorpX in 2016, so big kudos for constantly improving the VorpX.
Hello,
after getting the update to 19.2.2.1 the Desktop Viewer doesn’t work anymore. I am getting “Injection failed: Unable to hook: vorpDesktop.exe Should vorpX try to close the program if it is still running?” I even tried to run it with one monitor only and reinstalling. VorpX can still normally hook any other program/game. I am using Windows 10 version 1903 with a GTX 1070 and an Intel i7-6700k. I was not able to find any event in eventvwr about this.
Thanks in advance.
That’s not quite as important anymore for modern games as it used to be. Most games these days use low latency mouse input with almost as little latency as memory scanner head tracking. The memory scanner is still quite a bit better for other reasons, but the advantage isn’t as huge with most newer games.

I still have shader authoring of official profiles on the list, I hear you guys. It has to be foolproof though (i.e. easily revertible) and that’s where things get messy. I have to touch parts of the profile database system that I haven’t touched in three years and would rather leave alone forever, as it involves changes in the core app, the config app and the online database code.
I haven’t forgotten about it, but doing this right will cost time I don’t really have ATM. Far more than I imagined myself when I carelessly announced to do this. Eventually it will happen, I just can’t really say when.
After doing some more testing I finally got the map-shift to work but I had to press it extremely hard and extremely quick. It seems as though Vorpx needs to treat the grip button as depressed at about 50% instead of 100% because even when I get it to work and keep pressing, it will revert back to the normal map! The sensitivity for the map-shift-grip-button on Oculus Rift CV1 needs to be adjusted for much easier engagement than it currently is now with latest 19.2.2.1
I’ve also tested Oculus First Contact and my grip buttons work perfectly for picking up stuff and dropping them. The Vorpx Gamepad swap B and Y option is still not working when OFF.
