When I run vorpX with games on the “supported” list, they are only showing up in the virtual cinema mode. How do you get “inside” the game?

And when I run videos in VLC, they’re only showing up in the left corner of the virtual screen. How do you scale them to take up the entire movie screen?

    Thanks.

Hey guys, first post here. Just got VorpX and decided to try alien isolation.

After fiddling around with image zoom and fov config addition inside alien isolations file explained here This is very close to being perfect.
The only thing right now is i have no way of making the HUD fit the lense properly so the important info like health and weapon etc and other text sit in areas that is not really readable. If there was a way to make the hud fit the lenses, it would spot on. Few graphical glitches with dynamic shadow/light projection not being the same in each eye but thats the game engines fault i am sure.
Other than that, this is pretty damn awesome. Nice work Ralf :)

I have the same problem. CV1 with an Asus ROG WS71. Secondary graphics card goes to my hdtv. Inside the Rift I can paint mouse trails on a black screen.

By “work” it means almost all games will come up inside the Rift on a virtual movie screen and the headtracking should work.

PSA for everyone waiting for Vorpx Vive support:

If you have not tried a FPS in VR before as a seated experience ( Vorpx will not and will never make Skyrim roomscale for those who did not know ), motion sickness is a very real possibility, even if you have an iron stomach. I never used a DK2 or had any other experience before my Vive came and have absolutely no problem with Motion sickness when it comes to native Vive games (no history of any prior motion sickness IRL either). In preparation for Skyrim VR, I tried The vanishing of Ethan Carter VR sold on Steam and from the beginning of the game something just felt “wrong”. I wanted to experience a similar situation that I would find myself in with Fallout and Skyrim. I , more or less, was fine for the first 15 min. I thought I was good to go until I stepped inside a house and then I had to take the HMD off. Everything in my gut, neck and back of my head just felt “sour”.

Long story short if you don’t have any experience with VR motion sickness, read up on it. Buy some ginger Ale and Ginger chews. I bought some Dramamine just in case because I don’t want anything to ruin the fun. Just trying to keep anyone from having a bad first experience if they aren’t prepared. :)

I have the games set to low and I have tried on z-normal and its still roughly around 50fps on the main menu and around 40fps in game inside a building. Shouldnt the main menu be way higher since outside of the rift the main menu averages over 2000fps?

FlyInside is custom tailored for FSX in many ways. If you are a halfway serious FSX simmer it’s almost certainly worth the money. No way that vorpX, which has to support literally hundreds of games, can provide the same level of integration with a single title that almost two years of work on supporting a single game can offer.

rFactor2 will indeed be fixed. Provided your issue was the startup crash that many (but surprisingly not everyone) encountered.

Check out ‘FlyInside’ – There is a free demo that will get you flying with a DK2 / CV1.

The problem is that it is impossible to tell whether issues are caused by Windows or vorpX if you use a beta Windows. The purpose of insider builds is to test Windows. We neither have the intention nor the resources to test vorpX with new beta Windows releases every few weeks that are used by maybe 1 out of 10000 Windows users.

If you think you found a bug in vorpX, please ALWAYS check whether it also exists when using a public build of Windows before reporting it. We cannot give any support for issues that you encounter with a beta Windows build. It’s just not feasible, sorry.

Please do not use insider builds of Windows 10 for vorpX (or anything besides testing out of curiosity if you want my advice). If you do so for whatever reason, DO NOT report any issue you may encounter. vorpX will never be tested against beta/insider builds of Windows and there can be no support if you use them.

If multiple games are not hooking in a similar manner, there probably is a program on your PC that creates a conflict with vorpX by also hooking into games. Quite a few programs do this, not all are obvious. The trouble shooting guide in the help lists a few things to look out for.

The failing Optimizer is VERY strange though. vorpX uses system defined paths to your user directory to locate config files. If that fails for multiple or all programs, something is severely wrong. Please double and triple check that you really do not have a different admin user and also run vorpX both as admin and not as admin. There aren’t many thinkable reasons for these system paths to be invalid other than issues with the user account.

Also make sure that vorpX does not run inside any kind of sandbox. Some “security” software might do such things without you knowing it.

Thank U Ralf, today i bought also battlefield hardline (officially sopported by Vorpx) but it plays like the unsupported Rainbox six siege in a very similar way, too much zoom and absolutely NO vr effect. I hope Vorpx is not running in the correct way otherwise is absolytely useless without vr effect.
I have flyinside (similar to Vorpx) using with Prepared v3 and THAT IS A REAL VR EFFECT.
I’m really curious to see Vorpx to work in the correct mode, please help me.
    Thanks

What do you think about an on screen keybord inside vorpx. I´m playin games such as Eso or Wow with the Oculus and a Razer Hydra an I miss the oportunity to use the chat inside this games.

    greetings

I’m getting a black screen here too. Windows 10 64 bit, Oculus 0.8.

Nothing at all works inside the DK2 – not even pressing delete to bring up the VorpX menu. Mouse control seems to have disappeared – I can see no mouse pointer anywhere.

This is on a pretty vanilla rFactor install – just installed today and only ran once or twice outside the Rift to make sure controls worked etc. Only one extra track – Oran Park – downloaded.
