Yeah. I was thinking about about the left and right side, and agree I was probably seeing the headset because when zoomed out using edge peak the screen is massive either side.
I have a 3080 strix oc, I managed to get cyberpunk working at 40**x20**, it was quite jittery so I moved it back +50% of 3440×1440. Its super smooth and I even had all raytracing on and dlss set to pref.
Is there no way to make custom profiles? I noticed theres ways to import other profiles in vorpx.
I suppose im just being impatient; I look forward to an updated profile. Im going to velcro a smaller cover onto my headset which will probably stop me from seeing the gap anyway.
Thanks for your hard work, it really looks great in the headset, Im blown away and thinking about restarting the whole game again to play like this once Im done tweaking the settings. The 3d looks great to me, even though its not g3d…Ive not used vorpx for a year or so until recently and do notice theres a lot that has been updated.
Another thing I noticed that with the head tracking on small movements would cause small amounts of jitter and also my headset would shift a little as I moved my head so I turned it off in this game and used the mouse and keyboard this helped also to keep my eyes deadon in the sweet-spot.
The game came out originally on PS2 and Gamecube. If you can get it running on either the Dolphin or PCSX2 Emulator, you can use G3D in VorpX. You may even be able to play it with DolpinVR (not likely). I also see that it’s available on Steam. Since the game was originally made with RenderWare on PS2, maybe you can use the GTA San Andreas profile or another profile with the Steam version.
To play with the Quest2, you need a Link cable (any USB C) and Oculus Home software, and/or SteamVR (compatible with Virtual Desktop for streaming).
Hi! Thank you for your post. I’m using Oculus Quest 2 with Link Cable and Steam VR, but there is no VR for killer7.
So, yeah, i need to use VorpX. Do you think that if i’ll buy this software everything will works in the right way? What about the controls? I tried to change it but it looks impossible to play Quest 2 with killer7. Is that my fault?
If it’s not hooking via Steam, then you can try the Dolphin emulator, but you have to import the Dolphin Emulator Profile from the cloud if it’s not local now. It’s G3D on Cinema Mode though (Didn’t try Immersive). Dolphin has to be set to SBS in the graphics setting. I used the XBOne controller, but you can use the Quest controllers as a standard controller.

When I force the res in the launch options to 3840×2880 it always defaults to windowed, even after changing to full screen in options. There is no listing for 3840×2880.
The resolution you run a game with has a pretty huge impact on the performance. Going from 1920×1080 to 3840×2160 means that four times as many pixels have to be drawn as before.
There should be no performance difference at all though when you change back the resolution to 1920×1080. If that’s really the case, something else has also changed. Can’t really suggest much more than resetting both the vorpX profile (in the config app) and the game’s graphics settings to default.
Also try running the game windowed, just in case it does some internal upscaling to the native native monitor resolution when you set 1920×1080 fullscreen.
With the same game resolution and graphics settings performance is the same regardless of your monitor’s native resolution.
Sounds promising Ralf! And I just read this on Reddit:
Yesterday in r/WindowsMR a WMR developer said that the only current way that the WMR for SteamVR plugin and SteamVR’s OpenVR API can interface is through copying the screen buffer. This can consume large amounts of memory because of the G2 100% size (actually 146% 2160×2160) , especially when (dynamically) oversampling. They have found a possible solution with sharing a screenbuffer both parties are working on.
This is a shortcoming of the OpenVR API, which despite its name is pretty much bound to Valve hardware and implementation, with support for other HMDs bolted on by plugins, instead of each manufacturer implementing the API as a driver.
The only structural solution is OpenXR, which all VR manufacturers including Valve are pushing. The huge difference in performance can already be seen when comparing games like MSFS and Revive with SteamVR vs OpenXR WMR native support.
Today ive overdone the old profile, less distortion, cinema mode is default now. I recommend a 3200×2400 custom resolution or similar. If may need to keep an eye on the image format (which is currently set to “stretched”) in case you choose to use a different format in the game setting.
– Set game to 3D mode (SBS)
– Change VorpX image format individually
– Full VR available
– Cinema Mode recommended
– Profile available at the cloud
Read Here how to setup the game for Side by Side mode.
..This game looks so sweet in VR with a high custom resolution, just like an up to date game. – Promised !
Just delete the D3D9.dll we are using the d3d8.dll for this. Besides if you create for example a 2880×2160 custom resoultion in your graphics driver panel and switch to that resolution (of corse your monitor need to support that), then force res. to that setting in the DGVoodoo2 panel, you can play that res. in your HMD. – Glad i finally was able to help.
I recently tried the Wreckfest Profile and it took me numerous attempts to get the 3D to pop-out. The VorpX menu showed Z-Normal, but everything was still flat.
Interestingly I tried a race with this flat screen and as soon as I completed the course and moved onto the next race, the 3D suddenly popped.
The same happened again after a few races the 3D disappeared and I was back to a flat screen.
I have repeated this process x2 now and each time the same thing, random 3D and random flat screen.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening here?
The game is AMAZING btw when 3D works.
Check your SteamVR super sampling settings. Out of the box for the G2 it is set insanely high like 3000x3000pxl even though it reads 100%. This is to make up for the distortion but really taxes the GPU an overall performance of course.
Mine sits around 60% or so, slightly above the G2’s native resolution of 2160x2160pxl. And it is OK.
I would love an official Mechwarrior 5 profile.
I would be happy with immersive cinema mode and z-normal, if z-normal had 3D effect close to that in some officially supported games, like Battlefront 2 or Cyberpunk. In current profiles, z-normal is almost completely flat :( G3D looks so much better, but is way to slow even for a decent CPU/GPU (i5 10gen, rtx2079)
i’m new to vorpx so i tried the program with my standard 1080p monitor resolution, what i should do to play with vorpx on max resolution 4k per eye on the pimax 8kx?
I tried to add custom 16:10 resolutions like in the vorpx guide but seems that my monitor can’t go over 3456×2160 resolution which is a shame if i can’t use the full 4k panels the 8kx have
any ideas or suggestion?
