alegseParticipantBeen a long time since I played Bio-shock in rift. But FOV is important.
-Open user.ini located here C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock
and don’t forget to backup (NOTE AppData may be a hidden folder so make it visible)
-Search for first F6=EquipAbility6 then change the following…
F7=ResetFOV
F10=SetFOV 120
F11=SetFOV (try another value here around 100-120 and see if you like it better)now you can press the F10 or F11 key to get a nice FOV. Try 120 and if that does not look nice try something smaller in the 100 – 120 range. See what feels the most natural for you. Other settings have probably changed so much that I can’t really help you there.
May 15, 2016 at 10:09am #102421In reply to: Settings path not found
iormangundParticipantHi, I also have this problem with most of my games, setting path not found. I think the only ones it hasn’t been working on are ones that store the configs in the steam folder. (ie fallout 4, dead space 3, bioshock infinite work fine and I know they use the docs folder, while Portal 2, Metro Last light redux, serious sam, talos principle, antichamber did not work.)
All software runs under the same account and level (ie user only, no admin use) although I did try running the config as admin to be sure, no folders redirects to network shares (home folders all default locations), tested games have all been run at least once.
Registry entries correctly point to steam folder:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam]
“SteamExe”=”d:/steam/steam.exe”
“SteamPath”=”d:/steam”Running Windows 10, fairly clean and new install, rest of system is on C drive, only steam is on D drive, no issues with any other software that accesses configs or games folders without manual input.
If this is not fixable, couldn’t a simple option to export optimized game settings be added so you can replace the configs yourself?
Edit: Btw I am running the latest Beta version, with the Vive and so far after a lot of tweaking it has been working fine.

RalfKeymasterPlease make sure that the mouse is enabled in Dear Esther. If there is mouse look in a game, there also always automatically is head tracking with vorpX.
Not really sure about the others, sorry. Half-Life 2 and Portal were recently tested here during the Vive tests, so they should definitely work. Have to check Bioshock 2.
First and foremost try to disable Avira. It may also affect injection, just as it caused your install issue. Also look into potential injection conflicts with other programs on your PC. Disabling all background processes that would not be there after a fresh, Microsoft only Windows install is the best way to trouble shoot.

jzer0ParticipantSorry for the wait on a reply. The profile I used was from Bioshock, and getting it working is a little tricky. I’ve installed the latest Oculus stuff, so even though the DK2 is unsupported it still loads starts up its own interface in the rift display. The steps I follow are:
– start Oculus software
– start vorpx – will cause rift display to go to this loading grid screen, giving some warning about some crap.
– immediately start Tesla effect while the grid screen is up on the rift, and focus the pointer on the button to accept the warning.maybe 1-2 tries out of 5 will get it to hook successfully, and you should have all of the same profile options as Bioshock is allowed. I was going to try to upload it to this cloud functionality thing, but vorpx just updated (yay) but seems I’ve lost the profile (boo). Anyway, best of luck. Thanks for the info on Tridef, tried that back when DK1 was out, didn’t know they were keeping it updated with the oculus software changes. I’ll have to check it out.

moarveerParticipantReinstalling didn’t work, exactly the same issues, the only improvement is that adding -dx9 to bioshock 2 in Steam injected the game, but still got the unsupported message. I tried to apply bioshock 2 profile on the config menu and expected that it would make those changes, but apparently it didn’t so I did it manually. Tried also with and without admin rights to no avail. When I uninstalled I didn’t remove my licence info for obvious reasons, should I delete everything ayway?
One more thing, whenever I launch a game Steam tells me that it’s going to launch that game in virtual theater mode, yet it never does, and not even with the Vorpx driver off, I don’t know if that’s normal or not.
I’m sending the vorpX_troubleshoot.zip and see if that helps.

Mack1000ParticipantIt’s hard to describe, but when I look right or left I the screen peels away from my view and I see off the edge of the screen; almost like it’s in cinema mode.
Yeah same for me (odd and difficult to describe). Its like a screwed up backwards virtual cinema mode (or edge peek). Fallout 4 was fine in the previous release. Glad its not just me. Head tracking seems backwards and there is a screen in front (virtual cinema works fine btw).
Same thing happens for me in Bioshock infinite and Alien isolation.
This doesn’t happen for Skyrim or Dishonored (completely fine in those two).

taneParticipanthaha that’s quite a commitment to VR.
Yeah, considering the huge potential of VORPX and the raw buying power of Oculus, I’m surprised they haven’t acquired the software, or at least thrown together an in-house version. The fact that their “killer apps” are a pay-to-win flightsim and a Bubsy 3d clone, while a small 3rd party team adds support for hundreds of great games by themselves just goes to show you where Oculus’ priorities lie. But really, an awesome piece of software with surprising utility, Dead Space 2 and Bioshock alone are worth the purchase price, especially with Deepon halving the cost of entry over a DK2.Dec 27, 2015 at 9:20pm #95976In reply to: i got fallout new vegas to work it is worth it
JESUSTAYSParticipanti took advantage of the steam sale to tryout games on the vorpx first game fallout new vegas it worked not as good as a oculus rift supported game but many vorpx options to tweak if u want the vorpx presets probably the best but every other game including bioshock infinite all worked the same fine in 2d or the vorpx cinema non vr gaming it was really blown out and magnified in vr like all the other games except fallout new vegas i love people because Jesus loves me

Gladi8orParticipantI tried this with Fallout 4 by setting the 960×1080 in the ini. It worked and looked nice but the HUD and cursor is unusable. Is there another trick I can try?
The lock picking screen is missing with a custom resolution. I tried dishonored (g3d), outlast (g3d) and bioshock infinite (z3d). They worked perfectly with 1600*1800. The image quality was very nice.

slonaker.jParticipantWell thanks for verifying Ralf. Just a heads up, World of Warcraft seems to do the same thing. :/ Even though WoW is essentially unplayable on rift imho, it was cool to try out occasionally. I have gta v,bioshock 1/2/Infinite and halflife 2… all I want is ESO! ugh! lol
Nov 2, 2015 at 10:49pm #90945In reply to: vorpX 0.9.0 Available Now
slonaker.jParticipantHey Ralf, any idea on when we might see the next update with ESO fixed? I’m extremely bummed about this not working now. :/ I used to look soooo forward to playing ESO after work in VR. Now the game feels so much LESS without VR! *grumbles to self*
My setup
DK2 / SDK .8/ Radeon r290x 3GB / 16GB Ram / i7 (4770) 3.4GhzMost games on the supported games list still work just fine. Some work even better than before from the looks of things. I just tried Bioshock Infinite. Pretty fun. Works flawlessly. Definitely playable with some setting adjustments. Since ESO and World Of Warcraft BOTH stopped working though, I am weary to even try a new title based on the supported games list… :/
So anyway. I know you said it will be looked at by the next update but I was hoping for a more concise answer than that if possible.
Thanks
Oct 24, 2015 at 9:58pm #90545In reply to: Vorpx Demo????
feathers632ParticipantGreat points! I bought Dying Light a few weeks ago. Dishonored I played quite far through but would like to complete with Oculus now I have it (have only had DK2 for about 2.5 weeks). Alien Isolation also have but only played about 6 hours so far non-VR. Bioshock infinite I agree would be great. GTA V I don’t own yet. It’s currently on sale for at half price at greenmangaming. I agree Oculus should have had something like Vorpx or contacted Ralph to work with him? Seems counter-productive their lack of interest. I think Palmer is so focused on getting a new generation of VR games with menus and text VR compatible from the ground up. I think Elite Dangerous is a good example there… the menus are 3d and float in front of you.
Thanks for your advice!
Jun 19, 2015 at 1:37am #88123In reply to: Geometry 3d and dx10/dx11
RalfKeymasterThere are already DX11 games with Geometry 3D. For example Battlefield 3, Bioshock Infinite, Deus Ex HR, F1 2013, F2014 and a few more. More will be added, but this will not be possible for everything.
May 30, 2015 at 8:21am #87886In reply to: Portal 2 tracking problems.
JACKERL360ParticipantSorry, just realised how badly I described the problem.
The head tracking works perfectly with Bioshock infinite.
Behaves exactly as the mouse look does.Portal 2 problem: –
Look up = works fine
Look down = works fine
Look right = works fine
Look left = the whole screen moves/drags left. It does not look left but moves the sceen left.Look left does not work in tracking but pulls the whole screen left.

BuckleBeanParticipantCan’t speak to your first question or to ENB, but you might be able to use Raedon Pro to inject Sweetfx, even with an Nvidia card. This works with vorpx activated. I’ve tested with Dishonored, Thief (2014), & Bioshock Infinite. Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide instructions. Someone on the oculus forums posted a youtube tutorial. You may want to search there. In addition, you may have luck with google searching for Radeon Pro/Sweetfx/Nvidia (in the event you have an nvidia card).
