I’m on a Quest 2 with airlink and both the mod and the game are at their latest versions. When booting into the game, I also can’t make gestures work. To turn the head, I have to use the right stick.

OK, I think I have the 3D Display loss of depth / sync figured out in the beta. It appears to be an additional symptom of Cyberpunk’s long-standing issue of losing performance over time (until you fix it with a restart, or if you are lucky by just loading a save). In the HMD this has just been a minor annoyance. Start out easily maintaining 45fps and 10 minutes later you’ll get 40fps in exactly that same scene (unrelated to GPU temp/throttling.) But when that gets bad enough it causes additional issues on my 3D display. Anyway, that what seems to be currently going on.

I’ve played with the beta quite a bit now, with the following results:

Cyberpunk: AFR works on my 3D Display! That’s fantastic! I’m having a few issues where the depth will flatten out and then turn back on a frame or two later, but this does not appear to be performance related, or at least not entirely. I can sit there with settings that cause a scene to run at, say, 57fps, or 55fps instead of 60, and all is good. But other times the stereoscopy will flip off very briefly. I think it may be micro-stutters on texture loading. If this can be fixed then this is a fantastic solution for those with 3D Displays as AFR looks fantastic at only 60hz/fps on such a display, whereas AFR is almost unusable (to me, anyway) below 90hz/fps on an HMD. I have tried HAGS both ON and OFF to try and resolve the micro-flattening issue, but without success.

Universal: Neither Z3D solutions work on my 3D display with the beta, in any title. It’s just completely flat and Z3D does absolutely nothing. Bummer. Sure hope that can be fixed before the final release as I use vorpX with my 3D display almost as often as I use it with my HMD.

Cyberpunk: Running the HMD sync mode as follows for my Pimax 8k-x seems to provide the most consistent experience (and also provides the highest in-game fps): Sync method: Slow, HMD Multithreading: ON, vorpX frame-rate limiter: 50%, HMD refresh 90. (That is with the standard beta vorpX, not the Cyberpunk-specific mod.)

I tried the Cyberpunk profile and game did not start. I have 32 GB RAM and dan 3070 graphic card.

What is openXR mode? I usually start Vorpx without any parameters.

Using the latest version of the mod with the DLSS3 v1.61 cyberpunk it’s unplayable on my rtx 4080 no matter how much I play around with every setting. Much worse using directvr than z-normal/adaptive for some reason.
With v1.61 (non-DLSS3) and writing over the mod with the previous version of CET made for vanilla 1.61 it was buttery smooth with all settings on ultra using z-normal (directvr wasnt available).
Surely I can’t be the only one?

OK, not all of these are tested through vorpX at this point but I’ve found the following thus far:

    1) In Witcher 3NG there is no depth in the generated frames at all – OR the depth is there but something else need to be tweaked before it will work. Every generate frame goes flat. (ReShade method.)
    2) In Hogwarts there IS depth in the generated frames, however something will need tweaking before it is really usable as it causes significant issues with the halo artifacts. (ReShade method.)
    3) Cyberpunk – Untested at this point as the moment I turn on frame generation the title crashes – most likely due to the vorpX Cyberpunk mod. I plan to try testing that soon another way.

But the good news is that Hogwarts shows that if the issues with the halo artifacts can be resolved then it will likely be possible for this to work. Still have the HAGS issues to deal with as well of course.

    …..

Looking at your spec, you may have issues running Cyberpunk (my old pc had 2 x 1070ti in SLI and struggled with that game).
One thing to keep in mind when using Vorpx is that the game is being rendered twice (once for each eye), which is a strain on some systems/GPU’s.
However, that said, I was using a 1050ti before my SLI and I remember CP at least loading (terribly glitchy but hooked and loaded).

I will mention this tho, ….
I had a similar issue as yours over the last two weeks with a brand new PC (pretty powerful i9 RTX 4080). After A LOT of bug hunting, reading, trying to fix, rinse, repeat etc… discovered my problem was Windows 11 :(
Literally only a handful of games would even load and when they did the graphics were …. underwhelming shall we say lol.
Anywho, Once I had clean installed Win 10 everything starting working as it used to on my old setup, but with MUCH better graphics and smooth.

Is your issue Windows 11, I don’t know.
And I wouldn’t tell you to reinstall windows (I know it can be a hassle).
But none the less might be worth checking out.

Hopefully someone with a larger brain than I will chime in and offer some pearls of wisdom.
If I think of anything else I will come back and update this thread ;)

So far the only games I can get to run is fallout 3 and oblivion everything else, even cyberpunk with and with out the mod you guys have on your page I get a white hourglass icon that spins and you here the music.

I have even tried lowering the graphics to the lowest settings available (which of course make the games look like trash) and still the same thing. I can watch 3d SBS movies find in it but I was able to do that in Bigscreen VR. and I can run VR games like skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR on high settings no issues.

So I have vorpx, just bought it today. I have tried it with games and 1 everything locks up where on the desktop it’s fine but in the headset it’s frozen. This is so far for ALL games I load except fallout 3. Im about to try cyberpunk with the mod here soon. 2, I cant get into any in game menus for vorpx cause it locks up.

FYI Google Chrome is flagging and blocking your download

(no problem on Edge, so folks if you’re having trouble on Chrome try another browser)

    So, I downloaded the mod.

Went through the tutorial. Got the green tick with all the gestures. Started the game and not all the controls work.

The trigger controls do work to access the Vorpx menu.
The headset works to look around the game.
But the oculus controller buttons including thumbstick don’t work.

Also, when I change any graphics settings in the game menu it doesn’t seem to make a difference in the oculus. I presume the Vorpx menu overrides the game system settings.

I can use my mouse and keyboard.

I’ve tried re-installing cyberpunk through STEAM. I’ve turned off theatre mode. I’ve tried reinstalling the vorpx mod. I’ve tried stationary boundary and room boundary.

Reinstalled mod and attempted to run Cyberpunk. Crashes as soon as the first screen with instructions appears for some reason

Disabling DLSS will probably help if you happen to have that enabled in the game’s graphics options. Also make sure you use the latest version of the mod together with the latest Cyberpunk version. The mod uses the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding frame work, each CET version only works with the Cyberpunk version it was built for. If CET and Cyberpunk versions don’t match, the mod will not work correctly.

Does your patch keep a backup of all files it replaces in the Cyberpunk install folder, and can it replace all files with ORIGINAL files when it is uninstalled?

Reason I ask is I uninstalled the mod, then in Epic Games I did a “Repair” on Cyberpunk game, and this caused it to re-download the entire 65GB of the game – not sure why but that is horribly inefficient way for it to do a repair – it should only have to replace a few small individual files which fail to match what it thinks should be there (using CRC checks). Very poor programming from them or Epic.

And… not going to reinstall your VR patch unless it can revert Cyberpunk to exact way it was before patch when I want to remove it.
