    Dark Sector (G3D)

    Because of its millions of different light sources it was very hard to create a profile (still not finished, only about 90% but if you can accept a few things this 3rd person shooter could be a nice VR journey.)

    The game has (timing ?) problems with starforce and vorpX, version 1.01 will work, though it takes a few tries before VorpX successfully hooks. )

    Very important settings required:

    – update to v.1.01
    – use “borderless gaming”, deselect everything exept “keep window in foreground”.
    – close vorpx configurator !
    – add this:
    Graphics.DisplayAspectRatio=FullScreen4x3
    Graphics.FOV=120
    somewhere beneath:
    [Windows_Config,/Types/Config]
    in DS.cfg
    – Turn OFF any graphics setting like fog ect.If you dont, you may experience bad lighting effects and Halos.
    – Dont touch 3D-Fov enhancement ! – use game FOV (see above) instead
    – Use antialiasing in Nvidia Panel
    – Use edgepeek mono if text converges too much (or lower 3D Strength)
    – Profile availiable from the cloud, FULL VR w. Headtracking

    Notes: Quite often faint Halos around objects under certain light angles, convergence problems with footnotes. Very precise shooting !

    vorpX 18.2.4 has been released. This is a maintenance release that addresses the issues below.

    • Opening the vorpX ingame menu with a gamepad can no longer cause games to hang.
    • Vive/Touch controller gamepad stick emulation no longer feels jumpy under some circumstances.
    • Vive controller trackpad rotation sensitivity is not framerate dependent anymore.
    • VR controllers cannot be considered in use anymore although they were never used.
    • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: fixed issue with occasionally losing depth when exiting menu screens.
    • Left 4 Dead 2: DirectVR resolution and tweaks added.

    Without Touch controllers the above does not apply to your setup and disabling the override should always work as expected. I’ll look into this again, but for now I’m out of ideas.

    For the time being you can either change the vorpX gamepad mapping to your liking in the ingame menu or play with mouse and keyboard.

    Well in AC: Origins, it’s not enabled by default. Changing any of the options does nothing. It’s as if the game can’t even recognize there’s a controller attached. When Vorpx isn’t running, the game controller works fine. I can only assume vorpx is still over riding somehow or maybe is trying to use the Touch Controllers despite that I don’t have any.

    In GTA 5, I think it was set automatically to partial but didn’t work when turning it off. I know with GTA 5, one of the options allows me to have the buttons work just as an Xbox gamepad but one or both of the thumbticks didn’t function at all but I do know that over ride off used to work just fine.

    So if it’s not vorpx, then I wonder if a driver is causing some kind of issue when vorpx is running? Like maybe xbox driver or steam controller driver?

    By full factory reset, if you mean vorpx then I already have done that, it’s also updated at least once since I first had this issue. If you mean Windows itself, then I’ll do whatever you suggest.

    I’ve had this issue for quite a while, at least an update or 2 ago. When Vorpx is running, my gamepad switches to keyboard or is recognized as a keyboard in the game, making it unusable. I know in earlier versions, I used to just turn the controller over ride setting to off and it worked fine, now it doesn’t.

    I have both an Xbox One and Steam Controller, same issue with each. I tried messing with the gamepad override settings but doesn’t work. I can’t figure out how to get the game or Vorpx (whichever the case) to recognize my controller as a gamepad.

    I do not have a Touch Controller. Games this effects seems to be all of them, GTA 5, AC: Origins, etc. Gamepad over ride is set to off but I have tried partial and full without success….how do I prevent vorpx from messing with my gamepad?

    Hi,

    Does anyone know of a way to remap or swap the default left/right Touch controllers in game? I’m left handed and they don’t make much sense as almost all the buttons on the right controller are locked out from re-mapping for some odd reason. Basically every game can’t realistically be played with the Touch controllers as a left handed player or even if someone wanted to do one hand on the keyboard on one on the touch. Please let me know.

    Hmm, well. It is working now . . . after the couple days of tinkering before now, right after I post for help it is working (hate computers sometimes) . Think maybe it had to do with the xbox one controller not activating correctly at startup? Not for sure but should have tried using touch controllers. Anyway, thanks to the forums! I knew my issue would be resolved here, lol?

    Currently with the latest version of Vorpx (18.2.3 at the time of writing), no matter what game I try to launch, if I have my Xbox One controller plugged in, as soon as I touch a button on the controller or move an analog stick, the game instantly freezes and crashes in Vorpx.

    Dunno if this is a known bug, I noticed Ralf saying in another thread that there was a problem opening the menu, but I don’t have to do that to get the crash, just press any button at all on any game.

    Arcania: Gothic 4 (G3D)

    Quite some people were longing for this game in VR, i hope you will enjoy this profile. This is “V 1.0”, so there might still be some glitches in caves or remote places. Let me know how good this profile works for you.

    -Update to latest patch (SGSD70C)
    -Turn off or lower shadows and advanced light settings
    -Dont touch HUD settings
    -profile availiable from the cloud

    I used Arcania GOLD for this (first DVD).Any other Version should work too if patched to the version above. The Add on worked completely different with 3D Vision, so it will receive a separate treatment.

    Why are you using Vorpx when fallout 4 VR full VR support for both the rift and vive? They recently updated the beta branch and the touch controls work perfectly just like with SkyrimVR.

    I honestly wouldn’t bother with fallout 4 with vorx, it runs terribly with vorpx in geometry3d unless you are using zbuffer 3d mode. I dig vorpx, but if the games are out there with Native VR support that’s a no-brainer.

    If you don’t have the money I apoligize, but it’s best to wait in that case for a sale than spoil it.

    Dark Souls 3 plays incredibly well, in both 1st person (with a mod from Nexus) or I found it works best for me in a zoomed out, almost to a Diablo 3 level. However, all forms of head tracking work great so I just lean in to zoom tight, and push off to zoom way out. I’ve been bouncing back and forth between the touch controllers and mouse keyboard. Both work well and offer very different game experiences.

    There can be some graphical glitches if you push it, but I’m about 2/3rd’s of the way through and couldn’t imagine how I played it the first time without. It feels like an entirely different game. Good Luck, let me know if anyone wants my Vorpx profile.

    but couldn’t someone else write this to work with any game WITHOUT source code, all you have to know if the orientiation of right oculus touch compared to head.

    face north, point Right hand/touch east, press forward on thumbstick, strafe right.

    Just Idea, maybe it can’t work, It’s just an idea.

    hmm, it may be doable with this hack, if

    i look east, move touch thumstick forward ,
    touch controller is facing north,
    then send left in the thumbstick instead of forward,

    maybe you can look into it later, I don’t see why a 3rd party software that picks up on the direction of the touch can’t do this, and this is without game code access.

    could you not do it the way quake II fan mod does it, it does independant head tracking as a hack, it really just follows the direction of the GUN!

    i am 99% this should be possible to do without being able to get into the games code, simply follow touch controller directon, try the quake II fan mod and you will see what i mean.

    sadly I will have to take the 3rd option for just now, but try to take a look into it as a nice to have option to look into much later,as doign this on each start up would be rubbish not many people would bother with a game that doens’t remember the VR scan each time in this case of touch controllers as gamepad.
