dellrifter22ParticipantYep, the recent patch has broken the old method. A new fix is likely found soon though Ralf has asked us not to talk about that (or any future bypass methods) here in the forums. Sorry.
Wish EAC would simply allow vorpX.
dellrifter22ParticipantYou don’t need to be creating vorpX shortcuts, that’s a thing of the past (I don’t use any). Just launch games through steam client like normal, from your monitor not in your headset. Not in Big Picture Mode or steam game theater.
It doesn’t hurt to have steamvr already running, and it will sometimes warn you that “This game does not support VR…” in which case just click OK to continue anyway.
Other things to check:
– Make sure vorpX has “SteamVR” as selected device in the config app
– Not running any antivirus that could be blocking (Windows Defender is fine)
– Not running FRAPS or other FPS counter overlays. No system monitor overlays like EVGA Percision etc (if these are running it will cause trouble)RE7 should start up and work fine. Been a while since I tried it, but it worked for me.
dellrifter22ParticipantI think you are meant to play RotTR in vorpX cinema/desktop with SBS enabled in game (game has native SBS 3D support as mentioned). I don’t think vorpX injects any of it’s own 3D methods for this game.
This means if the profile isn’t in SBS mode by default, you should change it to SBS from the vorpX game menu. Or try it through the vorpX desktop viewer with SBS.
dellrifter22ParticipantGreat! Thanks for the time you take to checkup on the forums.
Always hope to not be a bother, but glad if it ever leads to something useful.
As always, looking forward to the next update! Cheers.
dellrifter22ParticipantI should add that it’s working properly in single player, but not having luck with multiplayer/arcade modes anymore.
dellrifter22ParticipantI’m aware that AA and upscaling can interfer, so I never touch the scaler and always test the various AAs. I already tried the alt-tab, alt-enter tricks that often work. Even changing resolution, which only brought back brief z-buffer during the death cam.
Before official, I was using Battlefield 1’s profile which required these tricks at the start of every round, but somehow you were able to fix this in official release.
I haven’t changed any settings from what had previously worked (a month ago perhaps), though the game has received some update patches since, hence my suspicion. Again, curious if it presently works on your machine.
I’ll try defaulting the settings tomorrow to see what happens. Thanks for the reply.
dellrifter22ParticipantHaving trouble with Z3D in this profile suddenly. It only seems to work during death cam if I happen to change resolutions. Not sure if it’s from recent game/driver updates.
If you get a chance let me know if you encounter the same problem. Or if any updates to the profile have been made recently. Thanks.
dellrifter22ParticipantOpen the vorpX config (right click in system tray)
Go to Local Profiles, select a profile you’d like to copy, right click “Create a new profile based on this”.
It will ask you to name it (something like “Subnautica – LongDark” or “Subnautica – LD” so you know which profile you borrowed from).
In the Assigned Programs window to the right click Add, then navigate to the directory of the games exe you want to attach to that profile.
Click Apply, then close.
———————————-Now you launch the game as usual with vorpX running and see if it works. if not, remove the exe from that profile and create a different one to try.
dellrifter22ParticipantI’m not sure about the UE2 games, but I did just test Subnautica briefly using the Long Dark profile and and it hooked with some working geometry 3D. The shadows are a bit off and the HUD isn’t adjustable as far as i can tell, but it didn’t look half bad.
There are other Unity Engine game profiles that could be tested as well, Just wanted to do a quick example.
dellrifter22ParticipantFirst it is helpful to know what engine the game uses, as a profile from another game using the same engine can often work to a degree.
You can easily make a copy of any profile and attach the games exe for testing.
Which game did you have in mind?
dellrifter22ParticipantJust wanted to add that I’ve made some profile adjustments that better suit the CV1 now, so Rift users can check the cloud if they wish.
For me an FOV around 96 in game worked best.
dellrifter22ParticipantI don’t have the answer you want, but will tell you that I deal with drift on my Pimax by binding vorpX “Central Positional Tracking” to “Q”. This is much easier to reach and I am able to effortlessly re-center every minute or so as needed.
The Pimax suffers a lot from drift since it only uses gyro tracking. But the Rift with it’s camera tracking should not drift so dramatically. That wont stop my neck from shifting at times though, so I have a habit of hitting Q often.
Maybe try remapping to something convenient for you to see if that helps.
dellrifter22ParticipantOnly Z3D with the current FC Primal based profile. I did briefly test profiles from FC3 and FC4 but didn’t produce any type of 3D. Could try other profiles, but Ralf said he’s had to do specific work on each FC to get G3D working.
Z3D in current FC5 profile works about as good as can be expected, though it doesn’t work during cutscenes.
The games FOV slider dosen’t seem to adjust the weapon models position nor the vehicle seating, so the more comfortable way to play is in slightly zoomed immersive cinema. This might make the scale seem a tad low, but the FOV will feel more natural.
I’ll go ahead and paste the bypass method again below, in case someone has missed the other thread:
========================
EasyAntiCheat is blocking vorpX from hooking into FC5. Fortunately there is now a bypass method (thanks to the clever people writing trainers for the game) similar to the one used for Ghost Recon Wildlands that lets us play 🙂
Understand that this is an unofficial “hack” that could potentially incite a ban if used online. Please use offline only and proceed at your own risk.
To bypass the EAC:
– Google search: “fearless revolution far cry 5 dunia engine 2” and find page 1.
– Download the zip under “Instructions” of the [28.03.2018 – First Release].
(The Updated method didn’t work for me, only the first)
– Follow the installation instructions as copied below:—————————————————————–
A) Backing-up/renaming:
– In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder first rename EACLaunch.exe to EACLaunch.exe.BAK
– In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder rename FC_m64.dll to FC_m64.dll.BAK
– In your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat/ folder, rename EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll to EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll.BAKB) Place EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat folder.
C) Place FC_m64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder.
—————————————————————–Now, set up a vorpX profile for FarCry5.exe and you are good to go.
I’ve uploaded an Immersive Screen Z3D profile to the cloud for anyone to use.
(tested on Pimax 4k with game settings: 16:10, FOV 94, reticle “centered”). Enjoy!
dellrifter22ParticipantThat’s the trouble with shooters in G3D, since the gun sights aim centered between the eyes rather than to your dominant eye only (as you would naturally aim). This bothers me enough that I often play in Z3D instead, to relieve eye strain.
But your asking about the HUD reticle specifically, which can suffer from a similar problem. Sometimes you can adjust the HUD depth setting enough to bring the “cross-eyed” reticles closer together, but I’ve never seen it perfect.
I know tridef has a built in reticle dot overlay that you can toggle on for situations like this. A handy feature I’ve wondered if vorpX would include one day. With similar customization for size/color/opacity.
dellrifter22ParticipantGood news! Found a working bypass thanks to the trainer guys :)
Had a successful play session in FC5 tonight, and sent a profile to the cloud.
Forum wont let me recopy here for some reason so please see the other Far Cry 5 thread in the Game Hints forum.
