EasyAntiCheat is blocking vorpX from hooking into FC5. Fortunately there is now a bypass method (thanks to the clever people writing trainers for the game) similar to the one used for Ghost Recon Wildlands that lets us play :)

Understand that this is an unofficial “hack” that could potentially incite a ban if used online. Please use offline only and proceed at your own risk.

    To bypass the EAC:
    – Google search: “fearless revolution far cry 5 dunia engine 2” and find page 1.
    – Download the zip under “Instructions” of the [28.03.2018 – First Release].
(The Updated method didn’t work for me, only the first)
    – Follow the installation instructions as copied below:

    —————————————————————–
    A) Backing-up/renaming:
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder first rename EACLaunch.exe to EACLaunch.exe.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder rename FC_m64.dll to FC_m64.dll.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat/ folder, rename EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll to EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll.BAK

    B) Place EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat folder.

    C) Place FC_m64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder.
    —————————————————————–

Now, set up a vorpX profile for FarCry5.exe and you are good to go.

I’ve uploaded an Immersive Screen Z3D profile to the cloud for anyone to use.
(tested on Pimax 4k with game settings: 16:10, FOV 94, reticle “centered”)

In game FOV can go as high as 120, but I’ve found that does not apply to vehicles sadly. Still, a neat experience in vr so far. Enjoy!

p.s. @Ralf – I know you’ve tried with BattlEye, but wonder if you might contact EAC sometime to allow vorpX hooking in future games. I know some versions of Reshade have now been whitelisted, perhaps vorpX could as well. Might be worth a try, EAC seems to be here to stay :\

Bad news so far, turns out FC5 uses EasyAntiCheat after all, not able to hook for now…(insert curse word)…

I haven’t tried everything yet (there is a supposed offline mode), but wanted to let you know we probably won’t be seeing Hope County in glorious VR tonight :( . Sorry.

I’ll update if I find any breakthroughs.

I’ve had the above issue as well, which forces me to reinstall, which in turn wipes my custom settings and profiles.

Try disabling positional tracking in vorpX game menu, see if that helps.

I know that can cause unwanted stutter sometimes.

I’m excited to play this as well, and feel pretty confident we can get some decent Z3D working day one with an existing profile.

Nearly all of my Ubisoft games have successful injection with some sort of stereo 3D. Unless they use a stubborn anticheat system (Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands). So far, Far Cry has not included anticheat. Let’s hope they don’t start.

With any luck, I’ll try to put up an early profile on release night for anyone interested.

Rainbow Six Siege now uses BattleEye anticheat, which is likely causing the injection failure.

That youtube video is from 2015, before BattleEye was ported to R6S in summer 2016.

Unfortunately, most any game that uses BattleEye or EasyAntiCheat will block vorpX injection, unless you are able to find a way around it.

The only such instance I have had luck with was Ghost Recon Wildlands, when I found some EAC bypass code online which allowed people to use cheats with the solo play. Once I was able to bypass the anticheat, the game hooked fine using profiles from both GTA5 and Assassins Creed Unity.

So until we can find a way around EAC and BattleEye, we’ll have to put the pass on these games I’m afraid. If you do manage to get R6 working please let us know, I too would enjoy that in VR.

The only multiplayer games I generally have luck with are steam VAC secure games like Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat, or EA games like Battlefield or Battlefront.

Oh right EZ2C, that’s the one. Yes, now you’re in the same spot I am, where most everything is right except for cut off trade values and books.

Let us know if you find a solution.

I know there’s a mod on nexus that lets you shift hud elements around including dialogue text (maybe not book text though), I think it was called “Less Intrusive HUD”.

There’s also a simple “Sky UI Away” mod that keeps the Sky UI script base, but returns the vanilla inventory style – which I found easier to use so I don’t have to edge peek every time I loot something.

I play with the reticle off and have discovered I can aim off the right corner of the arrowhead instead of the front tip and that seems to work pretty well. That might be related to the fov I’ve set for the modeled hands though.

I could be wrong, but wasn’t Avatar made in the Dunia engine, same as farcry 2? Unless that’s a different game. You already tried the fc2 profile?

Since Christmas update I’ve been enjoying the performance boost and enhancements to immersive cinema modes. The slight increase to range have been effective for my Pimax.

And it’s been a lot of fun revisiting Farcry 2. Thanks.

If there’s one thing that bothers me about the update, it’s the loss of standard Alt key functionality in games.

I use LAlt abundantly while gaming and have since resorted to simple AutoHotkey scripts as a workaround. But a few games are hard-coded and will not allow me to remap keys, making it difficult to play correctly.

I understand LAlt is now reserved for vorpX functionality with good intention to avoid conflict/confusion, but in cases like mine it’s become more of a hindrance. And since a rollback request would sound unappreciative, I wonder if adding a “toggle Alt lock” option among expert settings would be a useful consideration.

Otherwise, I like the direction things are headed and am always excited to see what improvements are in store. Thank you.

Oh, and one thing I’ve wondered for a while… Is there a simple way that you know of to backup custom resolutions in Windows? The larger Creators Updates tend to wipe them clean unexpectedly :/

Disregard. Sorry. I was able to test for myself just now and edge peek did not behave the way I said it might. Again, never tried laying down before.

It’s not as ideal, but you can still use FullVR mode and zoom it out to a comfortable distance. Lettrbox 2 perhaps. This way it will stay in view.

Billy, I’ve not tried playing laying down yet, but one thing you could try is play in fullVR mode and switch to edge peek by pressing middle mouse button.

I believe this will look something similar to cinema mode and might zoom out from whatever angle you are viewing. Maybe worth trying.

you can adjust the distance of the edge peek screen and enable/disable 3D in the vorpx in-game menu if you arrow through the pages. Might need to enable expert settings first, can’t remember.

I noticed CoD WWII in the local profiles list today, so I grabbed it on a sale to try the campaign. It hooks fine and plays smoothly, but no working 3D (guessing this is intentional).

I understand now that it’s not actually supported yet, and that judder issues were a problem initially. Is this still the case?

I was hoping for some Z3D similar to that I got working for the mp beta using the Infinite Warfare profile months ago. I’d like to try that and some other profiles – even if they are a bit wonky.

How can I remove the official profile lock? Renaming the exe does not allow the game to launch.

This CoD looks pretty neat, hope we can figure this out.

There’s a small chance vorpX was misbehaving for the moment, but nothing that a “recenter” hotkey or game restart couldn’t have fixed. I only say this because on rare occasion I’ve encountered a similar off-center screen slip – when switching back to fullVR from a drifted edgepeek. Unlikely.

1/5th screen right sounds dramatic for an improper headset fitting, but thought I’d mention how my headset does not rest perfectly angled, so it puts centered crosshairs feeling a bit high and slightly left according to my vision. This ins’t noticeable in standard VR apps when there’s no centered reticles (range is free aim with motion controls).

While this sounds unlikely your problem, I wanted to mention just in case how I’ve found cinema/immersive screen mode useful for this. In those modes the screen isn’t glued to your face, but rather floating in front so your neck can control the viewing angle toward your own perceived center. These modes can introduce slight distortion, but ultimately feel more comfortable to my eyes. Doing this will reduce headtracking functionality however, something I prefer to do with a mouse anyway.

Maybe one day vorpX will allow us to toggle lock our preferred viewing angle toward the immersive/cinema screen, letting headtracking function as it does in fullVR. It sounds a bit redundant sure, but perhaps an answer for those asking for a way to realign the center.

Hopefully a reboot has solved your problem.
