Yeah you got it I just couldn’t remember what it was called. It works great sometimes there’s just a little jitter on screen while I used it with certain settings. I set it all back and it goes away so good to go. Also how does that nvidea core problem manifest itself? does it cause flicker or just slow down? I notice about everyother few times I boot a game I get black flickers until I restart/reload a game. Could the core issue be doing that?

    Just a quick question:
What are the least taxing settings to run the spectator other screen display thing thats new to this update?

Some games work better then others with the game pad and mouse at the same time. I recomend just mapping keyboard and mouse to the pad and then turn off vorpx stuff. That’s usually the most painless way to get it working good. It sounds like it just had an overhaul to that system so it could be funky I haven’t tried it yet. I usually just use joy 2 key if its a game that is funky with game pad plus vorpX.

Yeah I get what Lucky is going for, but hes really banking on a best case scenario. Some of what hes said about not being able to just modify existing games to fit into VR is true.. Most of it is crap though.

VorpX basically proves that point lol Im all for new cool games built for just VR but when put side by side with AAA titles they so far are slim pickins. I think they should push current developers to do a VR update for current and previously released titles. Increased FOV options, some camera modifications so it doesn’t take control away from your head and such, add a body so when you look down its not just blank, and change up the HUD/UI and bam your 4-15 year old title has “native” support and is indistinguishable from purpose built VR games..

Alien Isolation is a lot funner in the rift. I love Alien and all that but I could see it being kinda boring without VR. Like a lot boring actually.. With VR its fun just to stand and stair at a mattress in its own weird way so all the boring times aren’t as noticeable when your in it lol

I had some trouble getting vorpX .9 going but not from vorpx it was nvidea. I had to do a try a few updates before I got it all ironed out. That and the oculus updates I had to juggle around some…

That being said some of my personal favorites with vorpx are:
Skyrim (If you like Skyrim wait till your in it)

Fallout NV (Same as Skyrim, if your a fan, this is amazing)

Dishonored (Great stealth game and has great combat and atmosphere)

Dying Light (Scary. Bring under pants.)

Alien Isolation (Scarier, mod your chair to hold a bed pan under it)

Bioshock Infinite (This game is so beautiful in the rift my eyes cant take it, great combat, story, amazing game)

GTA V (What is there to say, its VR GTA V lol, a lot of fun)

All have G3D except for GTA V. All that means is it has a “better” 3D appearance(although much more demanding). The reason g3D is great is because you can use positional tracking, leaning in and out and all that. Making for a really fun new way to play all your favorite games.

As far as cheer leading for vorpX, its the internet. People like to shit on stuff constantly. VR is one of those things that needs to be done right or you hate it. People who hate stuff are the loudest and sometimes its damaging to the idea as a whole. Honestly Oculus should of had something like vorpX included or working on at least.. So when people pile hate on poor Ralf I just think why not point that at Oculus for more or less having there heads up there bums about certain things lol Anyway really, hand to god, vorpX works and is the main ingredient to a happy healthy vr life lol

Yeah check over all that stuff…

I got mine set up in 1st person with the fov mod. Change all the fovs to 70+… in gta v turn off head bob, motion blur, and the blury disrance, turn of msa for 3d, change all the driving cams to not auto center…

in vorpx turn off cinema, go to pixel 1:1, image zoom around maybe 80ish, 2d fov maxed out(just my taste), head tracking about 85ish, salt to taste…

controller wise I turned off all vorpx gamepad stuffs and used my joy 2 key work around. map mouse to look stick and runto left shft, maybe a few others too but it works great.

Yeah some people have trouble getting over the learning curve. But really if a dude like me can mess around and get it then anybody can lol it takes some time but man its worth it. If
your half smart about computers you should be able to hit the ground running. I’m not trying to sell vorpx lol it just works so good and will make your dk2 worth having. It did for me lol

Its all in the set up. Use vorpx menu (del) to adjust to your taste. Skyrim and gta seem to run better after update. Played full vr 3D gta v just fine, infact the 3D effect seems even better after setting it up. Just play with settings you’ll get it.

Stop stalling and buy it ! :) Its only $40.. Rift cost $300+.. pc $1000+… Games are $60 a pop… buying a great program, and the only program, that let’s you use all those together for only $40 seems like a good deal to me… just do it lol

There’s no easy way to go about. That being said its not hard it just takes some time and trial and error to get set up how you like it. Skyrim is fairly easy out of the box because there isn’t a ton of buttons to map.

VorpX has a new gamepad set up but I haven’t messed with it yet. It could be good I just don’t know.. What you should do is get joy 2 key. It’s easy to use and is free…

You just need to map mouse and keyboard to the game pad. Is it easy, yes, is it time consuming, yes, does it work? yes for over 200 hours just on Skyrim lol

If your a gamepad guy like me you just have to face facts. PC isn’t as easy to just plug and play with controllers, but you do have a lot of options as far as customizing layouts.

Its frustrating the first time you have to map controlls but its part of it so it is what it is, get used to it, then its easy.. Also try to map vorpx edge peek and cam recenter to buttons as well..

To go full vr in game turn off vr cinema then change the aspect to 1:1, also the fov mod still works. I also turned off any vorpx gamepad stuff and saved and restarted with my older work around. Works like a charm! There’s a bunch of other settings to adjust in the game menus too, for the newer peeps out there. Spectator mode works great too and runs smooth.

Ran over some of my favs real quick to see how they did against the new updates:
    Bioshock Inf
    Fallout NV
    Skyrim
    Dishonored
    Dying Light

All work and hook normal, direct mode is cool(extended never was an issue for me but this is way nicer). The games all seemed to really run great. Super smooth and clear, it was fine before, but now Something just feels so much smoother. The view mode so people can watch is perfect too! Time for some serious VR sessions with the dudes now that you can see what the person is doing. Really lovin it so far, great job.

Just a tip about updating, I think if you just start vorpx driver and like enter a game it won’t update. Open vorpxs config app to update, at least I think anyway… that’s the way it worked for me. Just incase people wondering when the update comes out.

Mite have to pick this up when it comes out, last star wars games I played were on the N64 lol

Fallout 4 will work fine, I’m 99% sure, should be an easy tweek to Skyrims. If you’re as wet as I am on day one change the exe to skyrims. Bet you dollars to doughnuts it hooks and hopefully has G3D!
