    Hello Ralf,

I know you just released some amazing updates lately, we have now a lot of games to play in VR using vorpx and that’s great.

But i am very curious to know about wether or not we can hope for latest API/engines in the future, even if it’s a far future.

As you surely know, more and more games are going to be developped with those engines/API, for example wolfenstein the new colossus is vulkan only game, great game, wish we could play is in VR with vorpx.

And i would gladly pay another full Vorpx price for such support.

    Best regards.

I am seconding that I would be willing to pay for Unreal Engine 4 and Vulkan support with an upgrade fee. I would also tell people how awesome it is even if it is just cinema mode since that is amazing in 3D and I’ll be sure to stress how under rated it is. Also if all you can do is Z buffer for Unreal Engine 4 games, that would still be amazing.

There is now a playable demo of Final Fantasy 15:

I hope there is still a chance for VorpX to work with FF15 since that would be so amazing!

Thanks for the benchmark link, didn’t hear of that before. The game will be looked into, don’t worry. I just can’t make any predictions since there is a lot more variability and complexity involved in how DX11 games work compared to trusty old DX9, so there always is a chance that vorpX can’t handle a specific DX11 game (engine) well yet.

Yeah I completely understand. I am crossing my fingers though. This is a huge game and having it work in VorpX in some form of stereoscopic 3d (even Z buffer though geometric would be amazing) would be mind blowing.

Thanks for doing this incredible work Ralf. You are doing a huge contribution that helps bridge the gap between VR games and traditional monitor games in a way no one else is doing.

I can’t answer that question without the game, sorry. It will be looked into when it gets released.

There is a free benchmark tool that you could possibly look into now that is available now and uses the same engine:

    http://benchmark.finalfantasyxv.com/na/

I am happy to throw some money your way if that helps things. And all I need to really be happy is a 3D cinema mode because that would be an epic way to experience a Final Fantasy game and I would rather play it that way than on my 70 inch 4k TV (which is not 3D) that my VR PC is hooked up to.

Once the game is working in VorpX I’ll be sure to post positive feedback about it on here as well as on the Vive reddit and any other place with VR users.

Okay cool. After formatting and reinstalling Windows, I reinstalled VorpX and emailed out the request code to the email address that the vorpX app gave me.

Thanks again for the great app!

In my 153 hours of playing New Vegas exclusively in VR using VorpX DirectVR I never noticed any big hands. It was one of the most immersive experiences I had and I barely scratched the surface of what VorpX can do.

The patch for the Intel-CPU-flaw will mostly impact applications with many I/O operations, disk/database access and similar things. Gaming performance apparently is not affected much, if at all. Probably nothing to worry about.

This article has a few initial (Linux) pre/post-patch gaming benchmarks.

So are things like draw calls to the GPU not considered syscalls?

That was fixed with the initial 17.3.0 release.

Just in case: try to reset the profile to default in the config app or do a full factory reset. if for some reason a pre 17.3.0 profile is active, you would still have the fire glitches.

Okay I will try that. Awesome update to VorpX. I’m loving the continued support of this awesome injector.

A short test shows the exact opposite behavior here, which is what is to be expected since there is a fix in 17.3.0 that explicitely addresses flames/torches. The torch in the start cell looks now perfectly correct while before it was glitchy. Odd.

Please try without any mods. If that does not help, let me know what edition of the game you are using (DVD/Steam/GoG/GotY or not etc.).

You can safely ignore the “Restore Game Settings” crash. It only occurs while there isn’t anything to restore. As soon as you played games where vorpX actually changed settings, the crash disappears.

Was this fixed before or after the hotfix? I’m not sure if I am running VorpX with or without the hotfix. How can I tell? My understanding is the version number is the same for the hotfix.

I’m running the Steam version of vanilla (no mods) Oblivion.

    Hello, i have installed this.
VorpConfig crashes when clicking on – Restore Game Settings-.
    Under Users/ect i find a VorpConfig.exe.3020.dmp with 28Mb of size.

I’m also having VorpConfig crash on me when clicking on Restore Game Settings.

Somebody on reddit said the mountains on Skyrim are flickering after the new update. Did anyone experience that?

Sadly I can’t play with the new VorpX update because two days ago the left screw fell out if my Vive and my strap detached and the screw is too stripped to reattach. Furthermore my Vive screens keep going black every few seconds. So I’m in touch with HTC about it. This conveniently happened two weeks after my 1 year warranty expired. Ah well.

Off topic question for Ralf: The game guy talking about flickering mountains in Skyrim says the Batman games have issues with G3D because lighting only shows up in one eye, so you have to play in Z3D. Is this true?

So can you play against people online using this VorpX profile or does it only work with single player?

The FOV resetting after talking to an NPC is the one remaining annoyance with the game. [ALT][V] automatically types in the console command, so it’s not too bad. For playing standing map [ALT][V] to your controller and that shouldn’t be much of an issue anymore. IIRC that should work already with vorpX 17.2, but the auto typed FOV probably isn’t correct currently.

With regards to the FOV resetting. I believe there are some mods that correct this, though I haven’t tested them yet. I will soon though.

Great news on the update Ralf! Actually what ended up happening is after I talked with the Emperor, my FOV reset back to 75. Once I pulled the console down and typed in FOV 120 again the head tracking looked much more native like it did on New Vegas and there was no bubble effect.

So the new build will auto change the resolution? Is it possible for us to disable that? I normally prefer to run a higher resolution than VorpX recommends (1920×1080) because the default resolution looks pretty grainy.

Can you guys please let me know if battlefront is playable in geometry 3d? Will any frostbite games work in real 3d? Please just type something – I really need an online game that works in geometry 3d. I find that z3d or whatever, doesn’t do it for me in battlefield 1 for example. Is it better in star wars? Thanks guys!

I am thinking of getting this game. Do you set the FOV within Battlefront, or does it need to be edited somewhere in an ini file?
