My recommendation is to grab a STEAM controller and map it to keyboard ans mouse controls, it’s very easy to setup and you won’t get any conflict with Vorpx gamepad layout and works like a charm. Is also great for mmorpgs and complex games with tons of keys, my current steam controller template for vorpx has nearly 30 keys that can be mapped to any keyboard controls, you can even setup key combinations like alt+L for directVR scan easily.

    Isn’t it a 2d game? I don’t think you’ll get any 3d effect from it.

Yeah I’ll try that, even in the defenseevasion description on windows says it’s something that could be malicious, but not that it has actually detected real malware, I just wanted to point it out if it can be of any help.

I’ve tried Air Link today and it works really well, it feels even better than VD. Tested just briefly with Elder Scrolls Online, and it was fantastic, absolutely perfect. At 200mb bandwith it looked almost on par with Oculus Link cable in terms of image quality and smooth tracking, for some reason it seemed to look better than ever, I don’t know if a Vorpx update that just installed had something to do with it, but it was great.

I tested it with Vorpx and SteamVR. I know that I should be using Oculus mode instead, but since I like to play Vorpx with Cybershoes, which require games to run on SteamVR, I prefer to use SteamVR instead. I had performance problems before with ESO and SteamVR with Vorpx, but that seems fixed now for whatever reason.

Really, Air Link puts PC VR and specially Vorpx on console level of accesibility. Turn on Quest 2, a message pops up that your PC is detected by Air Link, click pop up, load Oculus PC, select desktop, run PC game, there you go, it takes 2 minutes, all with no cables, no setup, it’s fantastic, just pure instant pick up and play pc vr.

I think Ralf should open a Patreon for those that want to keep supporting it, and maybe throw some bonuses for Patreon supporters. I’ve been using Vorpx since DK2 days, the first game I finished with Vorpx was Bioshock 1 on DK2, and not paid and extra euro since then. I’ve got my money’s worth and then some, and it’s such a fantastic software that I want to support it, hopefully Ralf will find a way to increase monetization if it’s not good, but since it’s still working actively I want to believe it’s doing OK, and with the Quest 2 breaking all kind of records the future is bright for VR and Vorpx, or so I hope.

Hey Ralf today I tried Vorpx using Oculus instead of SteamVR and indeed it worked great. ESO worked like a charm with flawless performance at 1080p, I even managed to get it quite playable at 1440p with some AA and looked great, the two bars really kill a lot of the immersion, but I’ve to admit that scale is spot on that way.

Also tried Bioshock Infinite and it was buttery smooth and looked great too, so mistery solved, thanks for the suggestion, I don’t know what was the problem with SteamVR, but I won’t be using it much from now on.

Interesting, I’m pretty new to Oculus so I didn’t knew that, always used steamvr before, i’ll give it a try, thanks for the suggestion Ralf.

Just gave it another try, it didn’t work well. I reset the TESO profile and installed clean 461.92 nvidia drivers (which don’t have any form of 3d vision support). Used Oculus Link so no Virtual Desktop issues either. The first time it booted in game, and performance was terrible, still I noticed I had my old config (4k res, ultra settings) so I tried to lower it a bit. The thing is the game got stuck and I couldn’t get the game to boot into VR any more afer that.

Basically I start SteamVR and launch the game, Vorpx pops the message that it’s hooking, SteamVR shows the basic circles environment with ESO64 loading message, but it stays there, and the game minimizes to dekstop on monitor. If I click the game again to go full screen, on the monitor the game boots fine and Vorpx letters show in the game screen, but on the Quest 2 it’s still showing the basic steamvr environment with eso64 loading message and never gets into the game.

I’ve tried loading the game 4 times, it’s always the same. Now for comparison I tried Bioshock Infinite, the game booted fine in VR with vorpx and performance was silky smooth.

    My rig:

    ASUS PG278QR Monitor
    Windows 10 1909
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @3.60ghz
    Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16
    MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX
    Corsair RM650 650W 80 Plus Gold
    SSD M.2 2280 500GB
    Gigabyte 2080 ti gaming oc

So this game hates me for some reason, or I don’t know what’s happening here.

I’m using the Amd ryzen 3600 and 16gb ram. The thing is that same computer can run Teso at 4k dsr and 60fps resolution IN 3D with 3d vision (something similar to geo3d). Now I’m wondering if I tried the game with 3d vision on, though the game didn’t boot in 3d vision when playing with Vorpx (3d vision pyramid is off and no double images) , but that could be one reason, Ill give it a try.

I’ll give it another try when I can, but I tried absolutely everything and it was simply unplayable the last time.

I recently tried the game and it works, but I get unplayable performance with quest 2 and 2080ti, any tips to improve performance? Even with everything low geo3d is unplayable, and z3d barely gives any 3d effect.

I’m using Quest 2 and have tested both wireless and link cable, and at least with Vorpx the link cable is a lot better. Tested with cyberpunk and wireless was extremely choppy, while it was perfectly playable with Oculus link. Apparently oculus performance algorithms only work with link, so i can imagine that’s the main reason for the performance gains.

Actually, same thing happens here, I gave it a try and crashes at the same point. Tried the page file size mentioned in other post and it didn’t work. Game works fine launching without VR too.
