OculusRiftRocksParticipant
Thanks Ralf, I’m sure you will understand when you try out homefront, I think all weapons were effected by it, but a handgun may be less of an issue so try it with an assault rifle, honestly aiming down sights with your head is borderline unplayable in many games, just need to increse the sensitivty higher when doing that, note that you can’t just increase the general sensitivity to make ADS feel normal, beacause then when aimnig from the hip it will be too sensitive.
I realize homefront lets you do that in the in game options, but the idea is that vorpx can do it so that it works for all games
OculusRiftRocksParticipantlooks like vireo added the functionality.
Vireio Perception 2.1.4 Released (3 new games / Duck + Cover Mode suggested by /u/Oculusriftrocks) Changelog in Comments
by u/baggyg in oculusvorpx should get on the case as well, its a great thing for stand up VR people, its almost what they would expect from legacy games, crouching down sends the crouch key press, simply addition but makes a big impact.
OculusRiftRocksParticipanttried looking into that ,can’t see how that could be done, at least with vorpx it actually has its on sensitivity options, so we at least know he has control over it.
so overall it should be very easy to implement what i suggested into vorpx
OculusRiftRocksParticipantwouldn’t you have to run games at 2400×1080 in the vive, and wont that screw up the hud even more, and wont some games not expand the view correctly and instead go anamorphic.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantSeems this thread is getting ignored, this is actually a bug for head aim, I will post this hopefully better explanation.
Bug Report: Sensitivy offset while ADS
I would like to increase the sensitivity while aiming down sights, think of it like a sensitivity offset, I put this in as a bug as it’s an issue when using your head to aim, basically some weapons in some games have a lower sensitivity when ADS’ing in comparison to aiming from the hip, this works great for a mouse but is horrible for using your head, as when ADS’ing it feels like someone is pushing your head in the other direction when aiming.
A perfect example of this is homefront, this game has a separate ADS slider, it’s set to 0.8 by default which is perfect for mouse, but for aiming with your head its bad, setting is to 1.0 fixes this, now all weapons are usable with head aiming for ADS.
however most games do not have this feature built in, so I’m suggestion vireo could add it, so in the code is could be:
while right mouse button is pressed increase Head tracking sensitivity by 20%,
the amount can be user defined.OculusRiftRocksParticipantthat would be great, although you may need to add a setting to decide how far down you need to go before the keypress begins.
this would only be detectable when in range of the camera though, so for standing VR you would need to wait for CV1’s 360 degree tracking for it to work at all times.
the most important thing is to make sure the viewpoint doesn’t go down as you move down, since that is merely a camera hack as far as the game is concerned.
Jan 18, 2015 at 3:45pm in reply to: I can't play any Call of Duties before Call of Duty 5 with the VorpX driver? #28947OculusRiftRocksParticipantaccording to this they are not using open GL for WaW or MW 1
OculusRiftRocksParticipantmay I ask what call of duty games run in geometry 3D? and does the FOV enhancement work on them?
OculusRiftRocksParticipantokay thanks,
Maybe this game could be on your list of possible games to make a profile for, you would only need to fix this issue then it could go in your supported list.
The 3D is really good, and the HUD at the sides is not required to play the game.
maybe someone on this forum will find some ini option that disables whatever it is doing to cause this issue, I found a few options in mirrors edge which fixed some issues in 3D (DynamicShadows,LensFlares, SunHaze) and it looks perfect now.
if anyone wants to give it a go its located in
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\HOMEFRONT\GCGame\Config\CGengine.INIIt looks very similar to Mirrors Edege’s INI.
good luck!
OculusRiftRocksParticipantInterestingly that game is no longer available to purchase, either digitally or as DVD Disc as it seems they also pulled off on DVD production,
as it’s not possible to support sales of the game you may have to go down the unofficial route for the PC edition, at least until it gets added to steam or whatever platform it goes to in the future.
Yes of course on the no promises, just could be an easy game to add as its UE3, I will check back here in a few months to double check on an update.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantyes I remember trying quite a few combinations.
Renaming the gear exe as well as startup.exe, unfortunately none of them worked.
maybe there could be some other way to force injection, once figured out it should work like mirrors edge i.e. FOV enhancement geometry, 3D etc.
would be pretty awesome.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantAny updates been made to this game.
It is unreal engine 3, but vorpx does not inject likely due to a separate launcher.
Maybe this game could work well if vorpx forces injection and will work with geometry 3D?
OculusRiftRocksParticipantJust thought I’d give this a little bump, can anyone get this game working, I only mention because it’s in the official support list.
maybe It should get removed?
OculusRiftRocksParticipantI too am having horrible framerate when using geometry 3D in games, it’s tanking well below 50%, i’d say maybe its dropping by about 80%.
with dishonored I was getting high frame rate at maximum graphics settings + AA. in 2D
In 3D with all lowest settings no AA I get unplayable framerate with many stutters.
