OculusRiftRocksParticipant
I think you need to run Last light in DX9 to get 3D anyway, word is when you try to force DX9 the game wont boot, that may only apply to redux or an up to date patch on the original though.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantyeah I tried forcing DX9 mode via changing cfg files, it did not work, however DX11 works well for me, how are you not satisfied?
you should increase the FOV to be higher.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantWow this will be an amazing addition.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantAnyone received the update yet?
I’m still on 7.1 atm.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantI noticed geometry 3D does not appear to work for me, the option selects, there is a performance hit, but there is no 3D. I am in DX9 as well.
any clues on how to set this up with geometry 3D?
OculusRiftRocksParticipantokay thank you for your time, I may update this thread at a much later date with better information for your understanding, in my case you would not need to distinguish anything, its simply the ability to move parts of the screen around without thinking about what is at those parts of the screen.
I will just leave you with one more screenshot to illustrate things better, I mean to copy any part of the screen image then duplicate it over another part of the screen, in this example I am not even moving the hud, just parts of the screen.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantThank you for your post,
I think we are getting a bit mixed up, I will try to make things a bit clearer.
‘vorpX needs to know what is a HUD element and what is part of the scene.’
in my suggestion it would not, what i am saying is, take an area of the bottom right of the screen and move that part of the screen to the center. Whether there is a hud or no hud!
its like if you are video editing you just move a part of the image, there is no need to look for a part of the hud in code.
I don’t know if vorpx could do something like that, but surely if you can move the screen around and stretch the image as you can now, you can move part of the image to the center.
I have provided another picture of a game which has no HUD, if we activate the idea that I am mentioning then it would still move part of the image to the center, because it’s not doing something intelligently, it’s just moving the image.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantthank you for your post, but to clarify I am not asking vorpx to detect the HUD intelligently.
I am saying to ‘blindly’ take an area of the screen coordinates (x, y) and overlay it over another area of the screen (x, y).
in this case, there would be no intelligence work or smart coding required,
I have provided a screenshot, maybe this would help.
if possible this could sort out the hud for many games without any smart coding work, you could view this as a cheap workaround but it would work effectively.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantoh right, well that seems interesting I will give that a go with the new update and let you know how it goes.
“at least to all games that allow to somehow separate the HUD programatically inside vorpX”
hmm, not sure how you mean there, some games allow you to change the hud with ‘scale UI’, some games when you increase the 3D FOV enhancement it also moves the hud as well, changing camera height modifier sometimes also changes hud position (but not camera position).
also I did try Z-3D in black mesa, unfortunately the crosshair has a distressing shimmering effect when that type of 3D is engaged, overall I just played the game in 2D due to these issues, however the game worked really well in 3D and would love to get the crosshair issue fixed.
if this fix works this may also solve the 3 tomb raider games, as those games also had those issues.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantThank you for this update.
I am happy with your software and look forward to your update, lets hope for more geometry 3D profiles!
OculusRiftRocksParticipantYeah I’m playing black mesa atm and I can’t get the crosshair to work in 3D, it has double vision, this has been fixed for 3D vision people with helix’s mod, I think the best thing for vorpx to do is offer a crosshair, it can be similar to the vorpx pointer that already displays, and that will display in the middle of the screen, of course the graphic wont be the same, but the functionality will.
I am trying to search for ways to fix this issue for this game, there does not appear to be any laser sight option that could be used instead, there is one on the RPG though, if i could find some way to put that into every gun that would be great.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantgame worked with vorpx for me, at the time the FOV hack I downloaded did not apply to ADS so I played it on a monitor instead.
however I would suspect this has changed by now, and the FOV hacks are better.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantif SBS support was offered would that make crysis 3’s official 3D support would work, because currently when i select it in the in game menus i saw 2 pictures per eye.
also i think human revolution has official 3D support, and would likey do SBS, i think in that scase the guns would be fixed, as currently when you do 3D with vorpx there is a double gun issue making 3D less enjoyable than 2D.
Nov 20, 2014 at 8:11pm in reply to: Menu drawing/tearing/ghosting/trailing issue in Assassin's Creed 2 #24016OculusRiftRocksParticipantseems to be quite the issue, have you tried any of the other assassin’s creed games, and maybe renaming the AC2 exe to say Brotherhoods or revelations to see if the issue occurs.
do these games support geometry 3D, because I have not seen any FOV hacks for these games.
OculusRiftRocksParticipantwhat does the GlobalSystemCameraFOVAngle change do?, I have the option to set the FOV in the game to 120 anyway, so is changing the GlobalSystemCameraFOVAngle necessary?
