    ..a few hours later..

somehow i thought i couldnt get higher with my settings. Now i managed to test 4200 x something and i was impressed how much more details this res. had against 3200 x X. For example a sign at a wall in a distance of about “10m” was clearly readable while the letters were relatively washed out with 3200 res.

Perhaps this may be relevant only for higher resoultion HMDs like the vive pro.

Ive been testing with DGVoodoo2 and DX6 a little, i got an experimental profile for Shadowman (1999) which gives the game some fake depth, just like the glide stuff above. Tell me what you think.

Would have been my guess as well that something with the headtracking is not properly set up / working.

A apologize, of coarse there are plenty of retail versions, just forget that link above, thanks.

First I cloned the Quake3 profile and told VorpX where the Doom3BFG exe is.

I got the game (cinema lounge) working on the left eye only this way. The right eye shows the floor of the lounge but not the image itself, very funny.
    (HTC Vive Pro)

works fine with the non steam version and without the touch controllers.

I am pretty shure there is no BFG “non steam” version, https://ogdb.eu/index.php?section=simplesearchresults&searchstring=doom+3+bfg&how=AND . Is that version you are talking about an inofficial patch or something ?

I havent played Mass Effect with VorpX yet, but not every game can be used for FULL VR mode. This is why VorpX has its cinema modes to still get most immersion out of a game. IF Mass Effect “sticks to your face” and you wont have the full impression like in many of the Call of Duty games for example, by doing the following will give you almost the same VR experience then in Full VR. Switch over to Cinema Mode, turn OFF Lounge or whatever you have chosen there, (switch to “None”), then pull the Screen very close to you by lowering “Screen size” or “Screen Distance” it is called i beleive.
Besides you have a better image quality this way you can reach menues better then in FULL VR Mode sometimes without using “edgepeek” too much.

    Thanks jjensson,

The list is not perfect yet, informations are collected from very different sources, so where its not clear which game engine a game is using and the box for example was marked with “havoc”, you will probably find “havoc” in the list for games listed with an engine like Red Engine. I thought i just leave the havoc entries there so someone may have additional infos on hand even havoc is not a game engine. For games without an engine-name havoc can sometimes help to try out a profile from a game that has an engine name AND is marked with havoc because some Engines are quite similar.

BTW: a game can have different entries like opengl-DGVoodoo-unreal-havoc for example so you have different ways you can try around.

TiP: trying out the “unknown” list can make games working where no other profile provided proper 3D.

Thank you Ralf, Interesting Numbers! – ill report back after the sp2. BTW: I already threw an eye on a win10 setup, but at the moment i spent too much money on that gamestack i mentioned earlier. Not shure if i would built up an even faster machine or just make a dual boot with my 970 (which runs surpsingly well yet).

May be one last thing i havent thought of is the Win7 “Sp2 Update-Rollup” from 2016, is that installed on your test machine too ?

I think i need to give up on this, de and re-installed steamVR and VorpX with no change. Sad, because thats my favorite game i even wrote some music for (Fo Tactics). May be ill go through some dll dependancies or something later on.

Thanks much for testing that out.
Do you have the “KB2670838” update on your Win7 machine ?
I am asking because there was this https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/dgvoodoo2-on-windows-7/#post-173103 dx11 feature level thing last year with the win7 hook on dg… (oh no not again ) going on. Perhaps thats what breaks the hook. Hope i can deinstall that update for a test.

I guess i have to live with it :-( Just one last note, the vorpX attaching window opens quite a few seconds after the game itself already has started and stays “attaching” until i shut down FO4. – Oh and when doing some debugging Fallout couldnt find a few api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-2-1.DLL files, not shure if that would effect vorpx though. Thanks for your help so far.
