Mar 29, 2024 at 2:50am in reply to: Is DirectVR not working in Skyrim for anyone else anymore? #219523SenanParticipant
Awesome, thanks for the update! Glad to know it’s not just on my end for once, heh. I would definitely try the older DX9 version if I owned it but as far as I’m aware, I can’t switch the SE version to that, sadly. I’ll try to console adjustment for the time being and see how that goes.
Thanks again!
SenanParticipantSorry to bump this but do you know if there’s anything that could stop the constant black out of one of the eyes? Or more specifically, it blacks out the graphics and leaves the text. It’s a shame because when both eyes are working, the 3D depth is actually pretty good and the experience would probably be decent. I tried turning off all the shaders in the game options, but nothing seemed to fix it. Kind of wish I had an older GPU (back the Nvidia 3D support) so I could try this opengl-to-directx wrapper.
SenanParticipantOpenGL support is more of a personal pet project than something vorpX does ‘officially’. It’s limited to fairly old fixed function versions of OpenGL. Anything that uses shaders won’t work.
Never tried it, but rjkole’s profile is likely for the original version of the game, not the EE. Should still be available on GOG, not sure about Steam.
Damn, that’s a shame. I figured it was something like that. I was mainly looking to take part in the persistent online player-made worlds in the game but sadly, it seems that the new version of NWN is the only one that still supports that.
Ah well, thanks for the clarification in any case.
SenanParticipantI’ve brought this exact issue up multiple times over the last few years but I’m not confident an option will ever be given to bind different gamepad buttons for menu/edge peek (or better yet, compound buttons so you don’t have to use in-game keys at all).
I’ve found a dirty work-around for it on my xbox series x gamepad. If you go into the steam gamepad settings while on FO76 (or any other Steam game), you should be able to bind the “share” button to a keyboard key. I have two different keys set to the share button–one with a short press of it and the other with a long press. I bound the short press to edgepeek and the long press opens the menu.
Once that’s done, you can disable the actual vorpx gamepad keys (which I’ve found to be useless as the stick buttons and start/select are simply too important in most games to be used for Vorpx) and still access both edgepeek and the menu with the gamepad. This should work with any gamepad that has extra buttons that can be bound in Steam (like the touchpad button on the Dualshock 4/5 gamepads, etc).
SenanParticipantI’ve been messing around with this and I finally got the game to hook using the dll uploaded in this thread. I’m using dellrifter22 profile but for some reason, the G3D is messed up. Like, the picture in the right lens has these distorted colors and I’m not sure how to fix it. I followed the instructions for the graphics tweaks but it didn’t help this issue.
Z3D mode, on the other hand, seems to work well but it’s obviously never nearly as good as G3D so it’d be nice if I could find a fix to this. Anyone else deal with this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Jun 11, 2023 at 8:17am in reply to: Possible to get an option for combination buttons for Vorpx Menu/Edgepeek? #216520SenanParticipantYou can both disable and/or bind to other keys if you wish via the Vorpx Config app.
Pop open the Config app and navigate to the “In-Game Key Bindings”, there you can configure it how you want it ;)I ran into the same problem a few times, so my solution with every game I play using Vorpx is to disable the “Vorpx” thumbstick presses in the “Del” menu.
I use a PS4 controller and map both Vorpx Menu and Edgepeek to my PS4 touchpad corners.CJ
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I’m not seeing an option for binding the actual gamepad buttons to anything (unless I’m missing something?); only keyboard shortcuts. Since I’m using an XBOX one controller, I don’t have anything extra to use with something like xpadder/joy2key. That’s why it’d be nice if we could use something like a compound button press for Vorpx.
SenanParticipantAnother issue I just realized was that when you try to pick a lock, it doesn’t show the lock-pick screen. Man, this game is pretty broken in vorpx. This may not be legitimately playable like this.
SenanParticipant(Tried to edit but it wouldn’t work.)
Another things that’s been happening is when accessing crafting stations and computer terminals, the character will like clip through the floor, sometimes pretty far away from the station/terminal. Any idea what’s causing this?
Edit: FYI, it can actually cause you to fall through floors. Just happened to me.
SenanParticipantI’d like to second the request to enable dx9 support for WoW. I found what seems like the exact WoW experience I’ve been looking for and I was really sad to find out I couldn’t hook the game because it uses the older client with dx9. I was under the impression that most dx9 games worked with Vorpx. Is there any reason it won’t work for older versions of WoW? I’m thinking of trying out tridef just to see if I can get a similar stereo 3D effect but I’ve heard it’s not near as polished/good as vorpx.
Dec 30, 2022 at 2:02pm in reply to: almost got everquest titanium working, but no vorpx menus #214427SenanParticipantI feel like I’m so close to getting this to work on the Quest 2 but now whenever it tries to attach, it gives me an Oculus Runtime init failed error. Couldn’t connect to the OVR service (-3003). If I try to switch to SteamVR in the settings, instead of that error, it tells me that it can’t find the headset.
Any idea what might be causing this Ralf? I’m to the point where I’d be willing to pay to figure this out.
Greatly appreciate any help!
Dec 30, 2022 at 4:36am in reply to: almost got everquest titanium working, but no vorpx menus #214418SenanParticipantHi Ralf , I was able to make a hotkey macro for my Razor Tartarus gamepad that works, any idea why WMR works but Oculus does not? Do you plan on tweaking Dirx9 support in the future or is it pretty much as good as can be?
Did you ever get this working with Oculus on the Titanium client? I really want to use Vorpx on the P99 Everquest server but I can’t get it to hook to save my life.
Sep 15, 2022 at 11:10pm in reply to: Fallout 76 not supporting Geometry after today’s update? #213038SenanParticipantI’d be interested to know how you even run the game acceptably in G3D. I just got an RTX 3080 12gb card, paired with an i9 9960X and 32gb of ram and I could barely ever get above 45-50 fps in busier areas (and sometimes lower than that, depending).
(Sorry I’m not any help, but at least it’s a thread bump, heh.)
SenanParticipantHate to bump old threads but is there any chance this will be fixed at some point? Makes it really frustrating to play the game when it happens in the midst of a tense fight or battlegrounds match. I really love playing WoW in the immersive 3D mode and don’t really want to go back to pancake mode but this bug might force me to do so. Not a single other game I’ve tried in Vorpx has this issue so what could it be?
SenanParticipantSeems that the only way I can get the picture back to normal is to manually switch the res to something else and then back. This is very tricky due to the mouse pointer being gone.
I wonder why the fullscreen/window mode toggle option isn’t fixing it for me? It would at least be manageable that way.
(By the way, tried to add this as an edit but the edit window wasn’t coming up when I hit the button.)
SenanParticipantHas anyone found a fix for this? The switching to fullscreen mode and back doesn’t seem to work for me, and also the mouse pointer vanishes and doesn’t return. I was really hoping to play Wrath Classic with Vorpx but this issue makes it virtually unplayable. Any chance of this getting a fix?
