    Ive noticed this with quest 2 too – on index I can switch refresh rate to anything and it reports correctly, on quest 2 vorpx shows 90fps max even when oculus app reports its at 120hz and I dont use vr desktop. I assumed oculus are being dishonest rather than it being a problem with vorpx since index has no issue like that.

    Vorpx will not work on a smartphone, what people are doing on videos you have seen is switching vorpx to generic desplay to show Side-by-side 3d image on a monitor and then streaming monitor to a phone to use with google cardboard and alike.

    if I remember correctly KC profile is official and shadows or some light sources are often disabled if they can not be fixed by any means, like they render in one eye only no matter what. Thats one of the reason I often use z3d as it runs better and has everything rendered.

    Dont know why it looks flat for you, but even when it works correctly and looks 3d you wont have shadows, well some shadows.

    I remember reading that someone was banned in destiny for using something like vorpx to play vr, I mean it has anticheat and considers vorpx a cheat software, so try at your own risk

    I understand and I know your talking about Luke. His post calling out other modders including you for not having take downs and making money was very shitty.

    Not a fan of him or his mods to be honest.

    What other mods has he condemned? Is something like reshade not hooking to said games anymore too? I know squad devs made reshade not work with their game on purpose along with removing their own solution for squad vr.

    Increasing FOV and strenght of G3D or Z3D in vorpx setting (del key in game) are usually ways to enhance feel of 3D perception. If you are using a custom profile from a cloud, its sometimes just an issue of that profile. Still having at least 2k resolution and at least 120 fov is recommended for good experience.

    the problem is essentially their game design, not a version – randomly generated levels are completely random with enemies and items spawning inside walls, and since they cant have ai pathfinding in a random mess they generate enemies have to teleport in a crow particles to you and then try to fight in a prefab mess they scattered. Animations and movement is not polished in themselves since its not a big aaa studio and combined with random placement map part jank it just multiplies.

    I managed to get it to run at 90 with some ue tweaks in config files and it runs in dx11, well Im using launch parameters to make sure it does because there are only 2 dx12 profiles: cyberpunk and game-that-we-cant-speak-of so essentially just cyberpunk and it doesnt have g3d or z3d in dream cycle even though it hooks.

    Game is unreal engine 4, not unity. It is also poorly optimized for how it looks and runs worst of latest UE4 games Ive tried and is quite janky.

    I dont know why you praise the game and not put a profile you used on the cloud for others, which I had to do instead. Though most of UE4 profiles would probably do.

    Well from trying to make unity profiles I can say big issue is devs putting random things on same shader layers and shadows rendering only 1 eye. Plus with unity adjusting fov is only possible if developer puts in a slider in options.

    You can always check how it looks in vorpx, but even better just use unity tools to add proper full vr mode if you are making it.

    But in game have a fov slider until 130!

    good to hear, for unity there are only 2 options – dev adds fov slider or you manage to hack it with cheat engine

    Sorry, I’m not very familiar with the terms.
    Do I also have headtracking and the full VR view in z3D mode? So not just a screen section or a virtual screen.

    Do you use your own profile for STALKER Anomaly or the one from the cloud?

    Z3D or G3D is just how 3d is achieved, head tracking is a separate thing and virtual screen or full 3D is sceen modes. Essentially you can have your head tracking and screen glued to face no matter what mode you choose but with Z3D there will be artifacts on objects close to you, while G3D will have issues with some lights only rendering for 1 eye and worse performance.

    Ralf, I think this person is not very knowledgeable of terms, it looks like what he is saying is profiles for those games have only Z3D option but even with it the strength slider doesnt provide any actual 3d, essentially doesnt work.

    I would recommend disabling all forms of antialiasing first, thats what prevents Z3D in most cases.
