RalfKeymasterIIRC Steam lets you select whether you want to play with or without anti-cheat. You will have to select the latter option.
RalfKeymasterI see a purchase with your mail address but no key request from you yet.
Please (re-)send an e-mail with the request code that is shown when you launch vorpX to the e-mail address that is shown there. Provided your e-mail can be parsed automatically, you should receive your key shortly after.
Alternatively you can use the contact form above under Support > Contact, just in case your mails do not get through. Getting a reply might take a little longer that way though since it is not automated.
RalfKeymasterThe game does something unusual in regard to how projection parameters for some moving object are submitted to shaders. Handling that would require a game specific extension to vorpX’s Geometry 3D code, just having static geometry in stereo, but all doors etc. being 2D doesn’t really look too great. ;)
No rocket science and I have that on the ever growing should-be-done-sometime list for ages, but when it will happen I just can’t tell. Changes that only benefit one, not even overly popular, game are typically fairly low priority.
Z3D works fairly well though, so the game is definitely worth to be played regardless of G3D or not. Dishonored like gameplay after all lends itself pretty well to vorpX.
RalfKeymasterThere is no general issue with Game Pass games, but two things that can cause one:
1. The game is programmed as Windows Store (Universal Windows Platform) app instead of being a ‘desktop application’. In that case you are out of luck, UWP apps run in a sandbox and thus can’t be hooked without serious hacking. Microsoft inhouse games are most likely to fall into this category.
2. A game uses a different .exe name on Game Pass. In that case you could simply make a copy of the according profile in the vorpX config app and assign the actual Game Pass .exe name to this profile. Since typically you can’t access the folder where the game is installed, doing so involves a little trick: first check the name of the .exe in your task manager (details tab), then create an empty text file on your desktop, rename it to ‘whatevertheexeiscalled.exe’ and use the renamed textfile as a dummy when you assign the .exe to the copied profile. Afterwards you can delete the file again. Caveat: make sure that displaying file name extensions is enabled in Windows Explorer, otherwise this won’t work.
In case of 2. it would also be great if you could give me a heads-up, so that I can update the official profile. I’ll check some Game Pass games occasionally, but I just can’t check all of them.
RalfKeymasterProbably won’t happen. One of the many games where DX12 is actually slower than DX11, so there is not much reason to use it.
Contrary to popular belief fueled by highly misleading raw draw call submit benchmarks DX12 isn’t automatically faster than DX11. Its raw performance gain to a large degree comes from the fact that it does less bookkeeping and safety checks compared to DX11. A lot of this work still has to be done though, and since DirectX doesn’t do it anymore, game devs have to do it themselves. Unless they do it more efficiently than DX11 did, DX12 isn’t really better/faster in any way.

RalfKeymasterWoW is working fine here, the profile got updated for the latest version not too long ago. Since it’s a fairly popular game I’m also sure there would be more posts like yours if there was a general issue.
I assume you also checked the rest of the trouble shooting guide above, not just AV software. Just in case you didn’t, please go through it entirely. If for example you happen to use a gaming laptop, the issue might also be related to games starting on the integrated GPU. The desktop viewer not working sounds suspiciously like such a case.
The ‘antimalware service executable’ belongs to Windows Defender. While occasionally Defender may also cause problems briefly after a vorpX update, currently that is not the case. You don’t need any other AV software BTW, that’s overkill. Defender is very good these days. Third party AV may cause as many problems as it pretends to solve.
If after thoroughly going through the entire trouble shooting guide you still can’t make it work, please create a trouble shoot data archive in the config app *after trying to launch the game* and send that to support at vorpx com.
Private WoW servers/clients: some things in G3D profiles may break between game versions, so the chance of getting a custom version of the game working in 3D and with HUD definitions etc. is fairly slim. Not impossible, just not very likely.
RalfKeymasterThe game is not supported, so I can’t really say anything specific, but if it worked before and now doesn’t, the best thing you can do is checking what may have changed on your system in the meantime in regard to programs that could potentially interfere. Also the ‘Alternative Hooking’ checkbox in the config app might be worth a shot.
Hooking issues almost always are related to other programs (or overlays) that also hook into games. More detailed information on the matter in the troubleshooting guide. You can find this guide either in the help that comes with vorpX or here.
RalfKeymasterI always was under the impression that The Evil Within 2 uses the Vulkan API, which isn’t supported by vorpX. Judging from that post it doesn’t seem to though. I’ll check the game and see whether an official profile makes sense. Would certainly be a nice addition to the catalog.
RalfKeymasterJust a guess, but maybe WMR is the problem. Per default it turns off mouse/keyboard input when entering VR and you have to switch it back on with WIN+Y if you want to use a mouse while in VR. Luckily since a year or so you can disable this behavior in the WMR Portal settings.
RalfKeymasterThere obviously has to be something on your machine that prevents vorpX from hooking into games. If you use any other AV program than Windows Defender first and foremost try to uninstall it for testing purposes. Invasive AV programs are the clear No. 1 in regard to hooking issues. Some more annoying AV programs have to be uninstalled to really disable them. Windows Defender will kick in instead when you uninstall redundant third party AV software.
Also please first check whether a game you want to try is actually supported, i.e. a profile exists in the ‘Local Profiles’ list in the config app. Several of the games you listed above are not. Unsupported games should hook normally (in 2D immersive screen mode), but there is no guarantee for that.
Apart from that:
If after thoroughly double checking the whole guide and trying the ‘Alternative Hooking’ method in the config app you still can’t make it work, please create a trouble shoot data archive in the config app *after trying to launch a few games* and send that to support at vorpx com. I’ll then check whether you possibly overlooked something.
RalfKeymasterWith default configuration you should see the currently mapped keys overlayed over the controller. if that is not the case for some reason, you can change the ‘Controller Visualization’ option in the vorpX menu to show the overlay.
Not sure about the menu button, normally EdgePeek is hardcoded to the right grip button, not the menu button. Does that work for you?
RalfKeymasterI have no experience with this tool, but judging from its description it seems to also interact with the Steam runtime. Sounds like a perfect recipe for disaster to have two SteamVR instances running at the same time within the same program.
RalfKeymastervorpX certainly does not crash your PC. It does stress your PC more than just playing the game alone though. So if there is anything that makes your PC less stable than it normally would be, these instabilities might get triggerd by the higher workload involved.
What exactly that might be is impossible to tell. If you happen to have anything overclocked, that should be the first thing to undo. Otherwise pretty much anything from invasive AV software to faulty RAM or a dying video card might be the actual curlprit.
BTW: running vorpX as admin is only required for (mostly older) games that also require admin rights. Otherwise it will likely do more harm than good.
RalfKeymasterNo problem with Mass Effect 1 here either. I just had to disable the Origin overlay, otherwise vorpX wouldn’t attach to the game. Didn’t really recall that to be necessary before, but maybe I just forgot about it. No cursor issue though. The vorpX cursor appeared in the main menu without changing any game settings after installing and was automatically turned off/on correctly during a brief ingame check.
So apart from the general suggestions above I’m at a loss in regard to your issue unfortunately.
RalfKeymasterNo issue here with 2+3 that much I can safely say without checking. Both have been tested before the last update.
I don’t really know what to suggest TBH as I have no clue what might cause this issue for you. The only thing I can recommend is resetting the profile to default and/or do a factory reset in case you haven’t done that before. Although I don’t see how any vorpX setting at all could make your cursor disappear, so that probably won’t do anything.
Also try to disable every program running in the background, just in case there is some super weird, inexplicable conflict with something else running.
And last but not least try running the game both windowed and fullscreen, maybe that makes a difference for some reason.
