Unfortunately that can happen with some av programs with each new vorpX version. Quite annoying. Ideally please report the issue as false positive to your av vendor, so they can fix this. You can also let me know which av program you are using. Then I can report it to them.
BTW: My personal recommendation would be to use Windows Defender, which has become quite good over time and isn’t as overzealous as some of the others. There only was one issue with Windows Defender in over three years now.
RalfKeymasterThe most likely cause of something like this is a conflict with your virus scanner or other security software. Please try to disable/uninstall it and see whether that helps.
If it does, exclude the vorpX program folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) from scanning. Most av scanners allow to exclude directories.
RalfKeymasterConsidering your rather weird issues there probably is an injection conflict with some other program on your PC. Many programs also hook into games and can cause such an issue. Not all of them are obvious.
Hottest candidates are: virus scanners, any sort of CPU/GPU utilities, game video recording/streaming software, chat programs and generally everything that can show notifictations in games.
Best way to trouble shoot is to disable/uninstall every program running in the background that would not be there after a fresh, Microsoft only Windows install.
RalfKeymasterYou should have received the download link in the meantime. The first time from MyCommerce and we also sent two additional mails to the mail address you used to register here.
Let me know if it still didn’t reach you.
RalfKeymasterMake sure to use the same mail address to request the download that you used when you activated vorpX. Otherwise the request will not be processed.
If the e-mail address you enter into the form is known, it takes 10 minutes max.
RalfKeymasterA full install will probably help.
You can use the web installer that you received when you purchased vorpX for that. It will download the latest version available. If you don’t have your web installer anymore, you can get a new one here.
RalfKeymasterOculus updates Oculus Home (and the runtime) in waves. If your Oculus Home doesn’t show 1.10 yet, it may take a little longer until you recieve the update.
RalfKeymasterThe hotfix fixes the issue mentioned above (randomly inserted wrong frames a few times per second), which could occur under certain circumstances with Asynchronous Spacewarp. This didn’t happen always and for everyone, you would have noticed if you had been affected.
If you didn’t experience this issue, the hotfix brings no changes despite addressing the settings save glitch.
RalfKeymasterThe hotfix that addresses the Asynchronous Spacewarp glitch is now available.

Nov 14, 2016 at 1:56pm in reply to: The *best* resolution, once again. (and the related Zoom and FOV) #122792RalfKeymasterIn virtual cinema mode I would always choose a 16:9 or 16:10 res. Widescreen modes just look better as cinema screen.
The following overall recommendation is a good rule of thumb:
Full VR:
1280×1024, 1600×1200 or 1920×1440 depending on game performance (45fps min. required for comfortable VR).
Cinema Mode:
Widescreen 1366×768, 1600×1024 or 1920×1200 depending on game performance (fps requirement not as strict here, but 45fps min. still make sense).
RalfKeymasterThe Fluid Sync fix is ONLY meant to get rid of the Spacewarp related heavy judder mentioned above (randomly inserted frames a few times per second), it’s not something that generally enhances the frame rate.
If that does not work for you, please always mention the game(s) you tried in issue reports, otherwise I can’t try whether it’s reproducible.
Another option to address this judder would be to disable Async Rendering on the display page of the ingame menu. That reduces the overall frame rate though, so Fluid Sync is the preferred way.
The hotfix that addresses this is almost done and will be released after some additional testing next week.
RalfKeymastervorpX tries to hook into every DirectX/OpenGL game, so it will also hook into VR games. Before starting a VR game, you need to pause the watcher from the tray icon’s right click menu or exit vorpX.
I’m not quite sure weheter there are too many users with your fullscreen Steam as shell setup, but I may consider a reversed include/exclude option for a later version.
You can get to your goal yourself right away by starting the games you want to use with vorpX via simple batch files:
start [path_to_vorpX]\vorpControl.exe timeout /T 10 cd /d [path_to_game] game.exe timeout /T 10 taskkill /f /im vorpControl.exe
The second timeout may look unnecessary but will allow vorpX to clean up after a game has exited. Do not remove it! May also help with games that force the use of a launcher.
RalfKeymasterYou can try to create your own profile for unknown games in the vorpX config app. To do that make a copy of an existing profile and then assign the main .exe of the unknown game to that copy.
For games that are based on the same graphics engine that can result in fully working profiles incl. 3D support.
There is no guarantee that this will work, but it’s always worth a try.
