Pretty much every TESO update causes this issue, annoying as f…. Until I have an updated profile ready you can luckily circumvent the issue easily by disabling 3D in the vorpX menu for the logon-screen. Once you are in the game you can re-enable it. The issue only affects the start screen, not the game itself.

If it works for you, all good, but unless you are actually developing your own OpenXR application that requires the dev preview, there isn’t much of a point in using it. Doesn’t improve anything as far as vorpX is concerned, but always comes with the risk of breaking stuff. So if you want to make your life easier, stick to the release version.

You can tilt the screen up and down to your liking. There is a ‘More Settings’ button for each play style directly on the main page of the menu.

That won’t work since it would interfere with games that have an action assigned to holding the stick button down (e.g. often used for running).

You can however change the vorpX shortcuts to start/menu or disable them altogether on the Input page of the menu.

Disabling DLSS will probably help if you happen to have that enabled in the game’s graphics options. Also make sure you use the latest version of the mod together with the latest Cyberpunk version. The mod uses the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding frame work, each CET version only works with the Cyberpunk version it was built for. If CET and Cyberpunk versions don’t match, the mod will not work correctly.

‘Controller Mode’ can be set to ‘Off’.

No files are replaced at all and you can install the mod simply from the Add/Remove programs Windows settings page. Hope that answers your concerns.

Awesome. Glad you figured it out.

There is a motion controller page in the vorpX menu, which let’s you disable motion controllers entirely.

On a sidenote: If you happen to use the 23.1.0 beta, try the motion controller gestures. Even just one or two common gestures can add a lot immersion to a game. A brief introduction can be found in the video that is linked in the beta post.

The vorpX profiles are stored in a database, so usually there is nothing to remove.

No rule without exception though. In a handful of cases a few files may be copied to the game folder (either individual game mods or hook helper DLLs), but those don’t really use a significant amount of disk space.

If you want to be extra sure that everything is gone after uninstalling a game from Steam, delete its install folder. Many games leave a few files in their install folders themselves after uninstalling, so if you care about the very last byte, removing the install folders is good practice anyway. Not really necessary though. With today’s harddisk sizes a few kilobytes of dangling files simply don’t matter anymore.

On a sidenote: You might also want to check wehther the game in question is one where vorpX can change game settings. if so those can can be restored to the pre-vorpX state on the ‘Restore Game Settings’ page in the config app.

    Try to uninstall/reinstall the mod.

If that doesn’t help: uninstall both the mod and Cyberpunk, delete your Cyberpunk folder, reinstall both.

Just (re-)install the latest version of the vorpX Cyberpunk mod. I uploaded a new installer two days ago that comes with the latest CET.

Third time within a few weeks that this error pops up. Super weird. The first user with this issue could track it down to their C:\ProgramData folder being inaccessible for some apps/games for whatever reason, so that games tried to load the vorpX config data from a hidden virtual store folder that Windows creates in some cases instead of loading the actual file with the stored config from C:\ProgramData.

You can check that by browsing to ‘C:\Users\[Your User]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore’. If this folder contains a subfolder named ‘ProgramData\Animation Labs’ something is severly wrong. Move the ‘Animation Labs’ sub folder to C:\ProgramData in that case. It should only exist in C:\ProgramData, not in the virtual store.

IMPORTANT: ‘Show hidden files’ MUST be enabled in the Explorer options to see any of the folders mentioned above.

Not sure whether that will work with the vorpX beta release, but it definitely will with the last regular vorpX. You can easily revert back to the pre 4.0 version in Steam as well in the GOG client.

Actually that’s what I’d do myself if I wanted to play the game now. This whole ‘Next Gen’-update for the most part isn’t more than a RTX marketing stunt – at least for PC users. Downgrading the original graphics for the sake of making RTX stand out… I’m still surprised that the internet wasn’t on fire about that.

Cloud settings you saved work with both versions. For official profiles only the user settings of profiles gets exported, not the underlying ‘system’ portion that defines the stereo heuristics. That makes stored user settings completely independent from profile breaking game updates.

The virtual display is a display driver like any other, adding it is the same as adding another physical monitor to your PC. I have zero idea how scaling of your primary display can be affected by adding a secondary monitor, that’s just not supposed to happen. Also it’s not something vorpX does directly, stuff like that is entirely handled by Windows.

Anyway, you don’t have to use the virtual display. if you can’t figure out what causes this issue for you, you can use vorpX just like before and add custom resolutions to your actual monitor.

As far as download links are concerned, make sure to enter the same mail address into the form that you used to register vorpX. The system does not send links to unknown mail addresses.
