RalfKeymasterDid you check the FAQ sticky above? Please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com or use the contact form linked in the main menu.
RalfKeymasterSpace Engineers seems to make problems since a patch some time ago. For some it still works, for others apparently it doesn’t. Will be looked into, but it might just end up being removed from the supported games list. The game always performed bad, and recent versions even made things worse in this regard.
The others should work fine though. If both show the same symptoms, it’s not unlikely that something on your machine conflicts with vorpX. Since you already checked for the more obvious options in this regard, the easiest way to deal with this might be to go back to a Windows system restore point from before the issue started to occur and go from there. With a bit of luck one is still present.
RalfKeymasterThere is an option called “Screen Distance Offset” in Virtual Cinema mode which does exactly that. If you want the screen *really* close, make sure to use the “Ambience” or “None” scene. Those allow for a wider range when adjusting the distance.
Loosely related: Virtual Cinema mode has a nifty magnifier window that can be opened with a click on the mousewheel. Extremely useful for reading small text in the desktop viewer. [SHIFT][MOUSEWHEEL] changes the magnification factor while it’s open.
RalfKeymasterMight be a virus scanner issue. Please try to disable your av program and see whether that helps.
RalfKeymasterDidn’t you ask that a few days ago already? Answer is still the same: will be looked into for the next release, maybe a game patch broke something. Such things happen sometimes.
RalfKeymasterNo date set yet, but shouldn’t take too long. Definitely this month.
RalfKeymasterSame answer as above. New profiles usually come with new versions. Shouldn’t tkake too long, but no date set yet.
RalfKeymasterYes. Was only tested with the demo, but will hopefully also fix the full version.
RalfKeymasterTry to get the 8:9 resolutions working. If you get it working, it’s objectively and measurably superior due to the three reasons mentioned above. Using 16:9 DSR resolutions is a waste of GPU resources.
RalfKeymasterUsing a 8:9 custom resolution is superior to DSR in multilple ways:
1. It does not involve additional downsampling
2. It can solve FOV issues in many games
3. It keeps the rendering overhead as low as possible, effectivly enhancing performance.
RalfKeymasterVorpX hooks into most DX9-DX11 games and provides basic VR functionality to every game it can hook into.
If you want to know which games have a stereo profile and were tested here, please check the supported games page linked in the menu. You can also find a list with all game profiles in the vorpX config app (the restore profiles list in the trouble shooting section).
The game in question – which apparently was released yesterday – has no profile at this point, but it may still work (except stereo 3d).
RalfKeymasterI answer as much as I can here, but as most other forums this also is primarily meant for user to user communication. Sorry again that it’s not possible to check everything immediately after you post about a potential issue. You can be sure though that everything is read.
RalfKeymasterNot everything can be answered immediately. Some things have to be checked first. Thanks for your patience.
The game does not work currently, probably caused by a recent update to the game. Such things can happen sometimes, unfortunately we cannot test every game with every new update that it receives.
An updated profile with the required changes to make it work again will be made available with the next vorpX version.
RalfKeymasterMight be an issue with your virus scanner. Please try to disable/uninstall it for testing purposes. If that solves the issue, you can later exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning.
RalfKeymasterAn Android app that can stream Android games in 2D to the PC to be then displayed in Virtual Cinema may be possible at some point, but is not very likely.
What’s more likely in the long run, but also not really scheduled right now, is a built in PC games > Android streaming component for cardboard and similar things, but that would probably of no real use for you or anyone else with a better headset.
