Theoretically you are right, and this was actually tried already a long time ago to get decoupled look/aim, but in 99.9% of cases you would look into a black void when doing this. Games clip unwanted objects/geometry away long before vorpX comes into play.

You can observe the same effect when you overdo it with the “3D FOV Enhancement” in the vorpX menu, which causes objects in the peripheral part of the view to pop in and out in most games at high values.

ESO does indeed not hook with vorpX 0.9.

The issue is caused by ESO initializing its renderer in a slightly unusual way combined with a new feature in vorpX 0.9 that is meant to prevent unwanted hooking.

Will be resolved in the next vorpX version (no date set yet).

Please contact support |at| vorpx com, in this case with the mail address you used for your purchase.

This cannot be resolved on the forum.

Please also check your spam folder.

Normally you should also have received a reminder from us directly after about an hour.

If neither MyCommerce mails nor mails from us are able to reach you, please provide us with an alternative mail address, as apparently there is an issue with sending mails to your primary address in this case.

If the order went through, there should have been a link shown on the last page of your order process.

You will receive a mail from MyCommerce containig it shortly. Unfortunately this can take up to 20 minutes sometimes.

Please also make sure to check your spam folder.

If you are sure that your order went through and you do not receive the mail from MyCommerce within an hour, please contact support |at| vorpx com.

No, to get better performance you will have to lower graphics settings.

If you use mods for Fallout, you should also check whether some of them are maybe particularly bad in regard to performance. For example HD texture packs, graphics enhancers and things like that.

That sounds quite normal. Since everything has to be rendered twice when using Geometry 3D (once for each eye) you typically see at least a 50% performance decrease. Often even more due to the some additional overhead introduced by the stereo rendering.

Not sure why switching to Z3D doesn’t yield any gain. How much that normally is varies from game to game, but normally there should be at least some improvement.

Issue confirmed. Probably happens with most Frostbite engine games after BF3 on Windows 8 or above.

Definitely something completely else than I assumed above. There were a few last minute changes to the async rendering after the testing phase when the Oculus runtime 0.8 was released two days before the planned vorpX release. These may be the cause for this issue.

No solution yet, but this will be looked into with high priority. If all goes well, expect a hotfix before Battlefront is released.

Out of experience: please mind the “if all goes well” before “expect” in the above sentence.

Yes try that, good thinking. Running vorpX in a sandbox will always certainly cause issues as it has to hook into other processes to function.

All I can say from here is that something is wrong if these error codes occur, which is extremely rare. May be a rights issue, a hard drive defect, a corrupt Windows install, a virus etc. etc. Can’t say anything else to this unfortunately.

If vorpX can’t find files required to run, which is what the error codes mean, something is severely wrong with your install.

Are you by any chance using two different users on your PC, an admin user, and a normal user with less rights? This would explain the sanity check fails, as in this case vital files are copied into the admin users user dir during the install, which later can’t be found when running vorpX as the normal user.

If this is the case, please give your normal user admin rights during the vorpX install. Or better don’t use different users at all. Since the introduction of UAC in Windows Vista there isn’t really a security advantage in doing this for a home pc that is only used by you.

As already said the instructions from the Essential Game Hints in the vorpX help that are pasted in several times above REALLY contain everything you need to know to solve this issue in every single game. Often perfect, sometimes with a compromise.

And of course setting the FOV to 120° makes a difference if successful. Not sure how I should explain that to you. With a wider field of view you, well, get a wider field of view. This and nothing else has to be done to get the optimal result.

However, if setting the FOV is not possible for a game or fails on your machine for whatever reason, use one of the workarounds mentioned in the instructions like image scale etc.

The distortion sounds like an FOV issue. If you can’t find a way to adjust the FOV, choose 1280×960 or 1280×1024 as game resolution and zoom out a few notches (image zoom in the vorpX ingame menu or [SHIFT][MOUSEWHEEL]).

In many games this an easy way to quickly deal with FOV issues since vorpX 0.9 (if you can live with the image not filling the whole screen).
