RalfKeymastervorpX doesn’t do anything unless it is running. It’s not a driver in the sense of a system driver and it certainly does not access your boot sector in any way. So this almost certainly was a coincidence, otherwise you probably would read quite a few similar reports here.
BTW: I would generally advise against running vorpX as admin. Almost all games run without admin rights. Admin rights for vorpX are only necessary in those rare cases where a game needs admin rights.
RalfKeymaster3d vision works with 120hz alternate frame rendering, so it’s unlikely that this would work. And even if there would be a way to do this technically, I’m 99% sure that it would still be impossible due to legal issues.
RalfKeymasterNewer vorpX versions won’t work with runtimes below 0.5.0.1. There were two reports earlier of peoiple who got the DK1 working with 0.5.0.1 when the Windows display config was set to cloning displays instead of extending displays. So that may be worth a try.
If you didn’t do that already, checking the Oculus forum for DK1/0.5.0.1 issues may also be worth a try.
If you can’t get it to work, please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com. I could provide you with a (rather outdated) DK1 vorpX version that does not rely on the Oculus runtime at all.

RalfKeymasterThe general issue seems to be that the 64bit part of vorpX crashes on start. Most games don’t need it, but GTA V does.
I would say there has to be SOME conflict with another program you have running. Since apparently you already tried the ususal things, I’m a bit at a loss though in regard to recommending something specific, sorry.
If that’s an option for you, a fresh Windows install without any additional software installed may be worth a try.
RalfKeymasterPlease send a mail to support |at| vorpx com and we will provide you with another purchase option that may work better for you.
RalfKeymasterIf you still didn’t receive your link, please contact support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterIf you are who I think you are, we sent you three e-mails with three links to a new installer. Please check your spam folder, maybe you can find them there.
RalfKeymasterWhen you contact support about getting a new installer, please don’t forget to mention the e-mail address that you used for your vorpX purchase. This is required for validation purposes. Ideally just send the request from the same mail account that you used for the purchase.
RalfKeymasterThe most likely cause of this is a virus scanner or other security program interfering with vorpX.
There are a few other kinds of programs that may also interfere with vorpX, but if it refuses to start completely, an av program seems to be the most likely candidate.
The trouble shooting guide in the help has a few more details on this.
Please also try to reinstall vorpX and the Oculus runtime 0.5.0.1 after uninstalling both and rebooting. Just to make sure it’s not simply an issue with some corrupt file(s).
If you can’t solve the issue, please send a mail with your system specs and a list of your running processes (or a screenshot of your task manager showing them) to support |at| vorpx com. A dxdiag.txt may also be useful (can be created with dxdiag, which is part of Windows).
RalfKeymasterPlease make sure that vorpControl.exe has internet access, otherwise it can’t update itself.
Alternatively you can always use your web installer to install the latest version.
If you didn’t keep a copy of your web installer, send a mail to support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterYour problem is that vorpControl64.dat is not running. Without it vorpX cannot hook into GTA V.
The most likely cause of it crashing is a virus scanner interfering.
You may want to try reinstalling vorpX with your web installer, yesterday a hotfix was released. It addressed something completely different, but *maybe* you are lucky and by coincidence it helps you.
It’s more likely though that something on your PC interferes with vorpX.

Also please do not open multiple threads for the same problem. This clutters the forum and doesn’t help anyone. Thanks.
RalfKeymasterGlad this is solved.
TBH I generally would advise against such a setup for a personal PC. Makes a lot of sense for corporate PCs when the normal user of the machine isn’t supposed to do certain things. But for a private machine you don’t really gain anything since UAC was introduced in Vista (except potential problems ;)). Not my call though, of course.
RalfKeymasterIf you have your games installed for the normal user, the method described is the one you should use. As said above, if you install vorpX with your admin user the user files will be copied to the admin user’s user dir and aren’t available for the normal user.
RalfKeymasterDo you use different users for admin/normal use?
If so, please give your normal user admin rights for the installation, afterwards you can change the rights back.
In such dual user scenario the installer would copy vital files to the admin user’s user dir. Making it impossible for the normal user to find the files.
Running vorpX as admin should generally be avoided. It’s only necessary for (old) games that require admin rights.
RalfKeymasterI think 1. is the most important of these. Luckily it’s already possible. You just have to check the expert options checkbox in the config app to unlock it. After doing so, you can change the EdgePeek screen distance on the display page of the vorpX ingame menu.
2. is essentially how the old 2D EdgePeek works. Can also be enabled with expert options on, but I wouldn’t really recommend that.
