RalfKeymasterHi Natalie,
Assuming that you use the latest version (should show 0.64 in the bottom left corner with working games) you already seem to have done everything that first comes to mind.
Just one thing, hope that doesn’t sound too stupid: did you also try to start BF4 the ‘normal’ way, through battlelog? With the latest version the offline workaround shouldn’t be necessary anymore for BF, even the 64bit version should work.
RalfKeymasterZ-Buffer 3D has a weaker 3D-effect then Geometry 3D, especially in the foreground of the scene. That’s the price for being twice as fast.
It works best in wide open spaces, for example in games like Skyrim or Crysis, where it can even look better than Geometry 3D in regard to overall scene depth. It’s not so great in smaller spaces where it can look a bit flat sometimes.
You can find a comparison between both methods here: https://www.vorpx.com/more-headtracking-z-buffer-vs-geometry-3d/
Hope that helps.
RalfKeymasterDo you have the current vorpX version installed? It should show the version number 0.64 in the bottom left corner of the screen in games that work.
If not, please use the installer you got to reinstall vorpX. It will automatically fetch the latest version. Older versions do not work with 64bit games, which might be your issue, in case you still use an older one. Other than that I’m a bit out of ideas to be honest.
Hope that helps,
Ralf
RalfKeymasterHi zombie,
Does vorpX work at all (show the two circles on the monitor)? If so, does this happen in all games or only in one? Would be interesting to know which one, since this sounds very uncommon.
You can also set your IPD in the vorpX Config program btw., or calibrate it using the Oculus configuration tool (also accessible through vorpX Config).
Hope that helps.

RalfKeymasterFirst thing you guys should try is to reinstall vorpX, which will also update it to the latest version.
If that doesn’t help, you might want to check whether there is a conflicct between your virus scanner and vorpX’s copy protection. To do so, either disable the scanner temporarily, or – much better for security reasons – exclude vorpControl.exe from the scanner.
Hope that helps.
RalfKeymasterHi Tmek,
please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com to receive a new download link.
RalfKeymasterGood catch, thanks for letting me know. There were some changes to the startup process, and “Run As Admin” was never tested with these changes… Will be fixed shortly.
Edit: The version on the server now works again with the ‘run as admin’-option checked. I didn’t change the version number, so no auto update, but you can use your original installer to get it.
RalfKeymasterDo you start vorpX Control with any parameter? Normally this cannot happen when it is started via its default, unaltered start menu entry, very odd.
You could try to uninstall and then reinstall vorpX to make sure the start menu entry is the one that vorpX originally created. The Web installer will automatically fetch the new version.
Hope that helps,
Ralf
RalfKeymasterHello,
Head tracking roll is what happens when you tilt your head to the left or right right shoulder. What you would like have, decoupling head from mouse movement, is something that is not really possible in a driver like vorpX.
Tp be precise: theoretically it would be doable, but in almost all games there would be heavy visual artifacts in the form of missing geometry. So in practice this unfortunately isn’t an option.
RalfKeymasterHi phillzilla,
Installing the latest DirectX-version should solve your issue. you can get it directly from Microsoft:

Hope that helps,

RalfKeymasterUnfortunately that’s not possible. But your Fallout 3 problem can be solved. You have to disable the gamepad in Fallouts game options, and then use ‘Handle gamepads internally’. That should do the trick.
Unfortunately the current vorpX version has a bug that prevents you from remapping the gamepad buttons. That will be solved with the first update in a few days.
Hope that helps.
RalfKeymasterUpdates are issued automatically, similar to Steam updates. As soon as an update is available it will be downloaded when you start vorpX Control.
RalfKeymasterHi ScarletSpirit,
Please make sure that you do not have any d3d9.dll in your Fallout NV folder (for example from an ENB mod), which conflicts with vorpX.
If you create shortcuts, you should create them for the main .EXE, not the launcher. In case of New Vegas that would be FalloutNV.exe.
If that doesn’t help: There are problems with Steam, which affect seemingly random games on different machines. Maybe that’s the case here. This is being worked on and will be fixed (hopefully in all cases) with the next update, due sometime next week.
Hope, that helps.
RalfKeymasterHi Paul,
if nothing unforseen happens, the update will be available sometime next week. You just have to start vorpX Control to get it, it will be downloaded automatically.
Hope that helps.
RalfKeymasterHi David,
If Z-Buffer 3D is supported, both sub-modes work. It’s purely a matter of taste what you prefer.
Especially in conjunction with the optional depth of field effect the adaptive mode partly simulates a depth cue that is missing otherwise: accomodation. Think of it as something similar to a camera autofocus. Not everybody likes that though, so there really is no right or wrong decision here, just choose what you think looks better.
