Not really sure how that might be vorpX related, so the only workaround that comes to mind is using a gamepad instead of a mouse. Although you probably have thought of that yourself already.

The notifications vorpX displays can’t minimize a game. There must be something else going on. When a game minizies out of the blue then usually something else takes over input focus. Check whether you maybe have some mouse or keyboard related tools running in the background. If that isn’t the case or doesn’t help, try to disable everything you have running in the background.

Running games windowed instead of fullscreen may also be worth a try.

I know that I’m sounding somewhat nebulous, but getting more specific just makes things worse. One party in an entirely unrelated legal dispute for whatever reason deemed it appropriate to drag vorpX into the matter, which forced me to be extra cautious. Probably overcautious, but better safe than sorry. There really is nothing to add to that, sorry again.

The mod idea sounds good, I’ll explore how much effort that would take.

The workaround I described above works well though for most portals and for the ones where the glitch makes the game too difficult you can temporarily disable DirectVR:

you can deal with the matter by releasing the forward button whenever you enter a portal. That way you come to a halt on the other side and can reorient if necessary. Works well for the vast majority of portals, except one or the other situation towards the end, where you might want to disable DirectVR temporarily (ALT+B per default).

Having to hold down the mouse button is probably the game’s default behavior for looking around with the mouse. Not sure about Everquest, but e.g. World of Warcraft behaves that way. Not much vorpX can do about that, but if you are lucky there is a menu option in the game settings that allows you to change that or lets you toggle between look around/not look around with a key instead of having to press it all the time. If not, there might be a mod maybe.

The DirectVR memory scan is only available in some games (indicated in the top/left corner of the game window if supported).

However, if you are 100% sure that the game handles simultaneous controller and mouse input correctly, you can simply disable the ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ option on the input page of the menu. If you don’t experience any input weirdness afterwards (e.g. head tracking dropouts, gamepad movement stutter or similarly odd things) all is well and the game in question does indeed correctly handle mouse and gamepad at the same time.

BTW: the built-in gamepad to mouse/kb mapper that makes it possible to use your gamepad together with mouse based head tracking even in games that can’t handle both simultaneously is a fairly feature rich program in itself, the mapping can be fully configured to your liking (also on the input page of the menu).

Disabling mouse based tracking during EdgePeek is a double edged sword unfortunately. Would be better for using menus, but since vorpX doesn’t know whether the game is in a menu or not while you are in EdgePeek mode, you would end up looking into another direction in reality than in the game after leaving EdgePeek in other situations, namely when you use EdgePeek during normal gameplay without switching to a menu screen first and then change your view direction. That would be more awkward in the end than things are currently.

Please check whtether you have some tool/utility running that also hooks into games and causes a conflict. Typical candidates would be GPU/CPU tools of any kind, some chat apps, certain video recording software, basically anything that can show an overlay over games.

The pinned trouble shooting post on top of this sub forum has more detailed information about that.

No such problem here with the latest build. Please

    1. Make sure your Defender definitions are up-to-date by running a manual Windows update check.
    2. Reinstall vorpX using your web installer to ensure you have the latest build

I *really* didn’t want to comment on this, but after individually answering these questions on an almost daily basis for a month and then removing posts, that‘s clearly not an option in the long run, so: very unfortunately a third party deemed it appropriate to drag vorpX (as well as others) into their own legal mess by making multiple but-they-do-that-too statements. In the end that left me with no choice but to remove certain profiles out of caution. I can only apologize for that.

Also sorry for the vague wording, I don‘t want to get more specific. The whole matter is annoying enough as it is.

Just to get the obvious out of the way first: you have to type in the game name (a few letters should suffice) into the searchbox.

If still nothing shows up, check whether maybe your firewall/av-program/router prevents vorpConfig.exe from accessing the internet.

    That doesn’t sound good.

First please try to run the game windowed. Sometimes that can help with issues like that.

    Secondly, just in case:

Please make sure that the WMR runtime is set as your system’s OpenXR runtime (the WMR portal complains if it isn’t) and that vorpX is setup to use OpenXR. You can change that in the config app on the ‘General’ page. Do not use SteamVR with WMR headsets and DO NOT let SteamVR make itself your system’s OpenXR runtime. That is counterproductive with WMR headsets, which come with a native OpenXR runtime.

That only works for profiles where vorpX has other means of applying head tracking than emulating a mouse, which is not the case for Stalker unfortunately. With moused based tracking vorpX would have to know when you are in a menu or inventory screen.

What helps a lot however is switching to EdgePeek mode while using menus or invetory screens, which is more comfortable anyway. That way you can see the whole screen and don’t have to look around while using the menu. Edgepeek can be enabled by pressing the mousewheel, the left gamepad thumbstick or the right grip button on your VR controller.

First please make sure that you don‘t have any tools/utilities running that also hook into games. Issues like this often are caused by conflicting apps that hook into the same functions as the mod does.

Also make sure that your Cyberpunk version is up-to-date. The Cyber Engine Tweaks modding framework that the mod utilizes doesn’t work with older game versions.
