In reply to: Chernobylite – any working profiles out there?!
dellrifter22ParticipantChernobylite (G3D) now added to the cloud.
-use a 16:9 resolution (1920×1080, 2560×1440)
-set FOV to 112 in game
-TAA on Ultra (other AA options not tested and may cause fuzz)
-turn off Motion Blur and Depth of Field
*use EdgePeek for radiation tool and cutscenes
*vorpX Shadow Treatment will toggle global illumination if desired (off by default)
*tested on HP reverb with mouse/keyboardDue to some lighting and shadow issues I have chosen to turn off global illumination by default. The environments now look dark and gloomy like the Stalker games – more realistic imho. But if you demand sunshine, then you can toggle the vorpX Shadow Treatment from the Delete menu Image Settings page.
*optional setup for soft shadows that are less offensive in 3D:
Open Engine.ini found in C:\Users\(name)\AppData\Local\ChernobylGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

r.Shadow.MaxResolution=16
r.Shadow.FadeResolution=32

in forum General vorpX Discussion
Michelangel0ParticipantHi there!!
This game started working at once using the conarium profile with G3D and it was looking very good.
But after playing several levels (5th level) later I found that some strange lights were turned in massive red spots for only one eye and this affects gameplay not sure why.Can anyone help me to improve the support for G3D on this game? I’ve uploaded the G3D profile but after several levels I had to switch to Z-Adaptive to play, but I would love to have G3D back.
Any other profile recommended for this game to check?
Any way to get better G3D?Jun 11, 2021 at 6:05am #204596In reply to: It Takes Two
adzterParticipantJust tried both of those profiles, as I was keen to play this.
The game hooked with both, but while G3D is selected… there’s no 3D to speak of.
Abzu had slight issues shown with shadows in one eye (that go away when turning G3D off)
And Conoarium had these issues, but worse. With a dark shadow in the bottom half of the screen in one eye.Bummer.

ToxicMikeParticipantForget everything i wrote about “moving your head while the game is loading, causes stuttering” coz it must be something else, now also really getting a pain in the ass big time.
Been playing it on full screen (bigscreen beta) at daytime without any stuttering.
Now i played it a few minutes ago and the game stutters like crazy along with that additional stuttering whenever i move my head, weird thing is that is only happening within the game, if i exit to the main menu, there is neither that stuttering of the mouse-pointer-arrow nor any head-movement related stuttering.
It probably has to do with the light in the room where i am playing, which is probably too dark for that crappy bigscreen-app and causes that stuttering, but i am not in a mood for adding additinal light-sources at this moment so……FUCK IT
I remember there weren´t too many problems with using bigscreen beta but it looks like devs are really up to finally destroy it for once and for all as more and more games were causing troubles on it over the last months, no wonder that crap is free
May 11, 2021 at 2:43pm #203917In reply to: Resident Evil 8 THE VILLAGE
mrshantimanParticipantCan someone help me with ingame settings? Having a great time and game runs smoothly most of the time, however, in the village area I am getting some weird pop in and out of texture layers on certain rocks, grass, trees just by turning my head. Or I see a tree in my peripheral vision with all details and moving in the wind while when I look at it directly it would turn into a muddy mess without animation. If I look away it goes back to normal.
Reducing texture in the menu to medium and running on just 1080p resolution does not seem to change anything. I have the fps locked to 30 with my hp reverb set to 60 Hz, openxr. Village menu says 4.6/8 GB. Have it set to ‘frameless window’.
Also is it possible to get rid of the white light square showing when in dark areas?
Apr 3, 2021 at 8:58am #201646In reply to: Bad performance with Metro 2033 Redux + Rev G2
tauronuxParticipantI finished the Redux version of Metro 2033 and there might be a bug which might have something to do with the FOV set to 90. I’ll try without spoilers but be aware
*** POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW ***
At the last chapter, after you set up the tracking device on the top of the tower, your mind is taken by the dark ones into these “enlightening” scenes, after which you start to run away from the dark one inside a maze. The maze gameplay starts with 4 doors around you and the game saves.
The problem starts here, because the game changes the FOV in this part to something bigger. My game froze during the FOV change while the game saved. I loaded the save after game restart and it loaded freezed. I had to start the chapter from the start but i played it on Flat screen with FOV set to 60. This way i was able to finish it.
I still need to confirm it by playing again with VorpX though.
Mar 29, 2021 at 8:44am #201518
ToxicMikeParticipantHmm, so maybe bigscreen improved a bit since I tried it. I stopped using it altogether after they started geo-blocking all content.
They actually just fixed the mess they caused with the patch before, coz it was crashing far more than before and actually everytime you put off your goggles for a few minutes.
In vorpX Cinema mode you can adjust the distance to the screen but not it’s size. A closer screen take up more of your FOV but might not give the impression of a big screen.
A closer (big)screen for example, is something completely awful (almost “blurry”) looking with bigscreen beta, at least until you shrink the size of it down so far until it looks sharper again, but then the size of it ain´t really what i understand as “big” let alone “cinema”. With vorpX you can touch the screen with your virtual nose and it still looks crips sharp.
Personally I find the default screen size to be OK. I generally use cinema for top-down or side-scroller games which are usually called 2.5D, whereas for first/third person games I use immersive.
It depends on my mood, i often use immersive-screen-mode as well for strategy-titles as for third person games because the ambient-light-effect adds alot to the atmosphere, while it can happen i feel like having too much of being surrounded by darkness and ambient light, that´s when i switch to cinema mode.
Certain first person games i also play in immersive screen mode (when they´re not giving me a great feeling in full-vr mode or stutter too much) like GENERATION ZERO, which does a great job at me in 2:35:1 ultra-wide-screen with bending the screen only as much as distortions doesn´t kick in (i also had a great time bending it to the max along with pulling it real close, but distortions can be a pain at times)

forlaunchcastParticipantVery interesting and enlightening discussion. Thanks, Ralf, for that insight.
For what it’s worth, I played through entire Doom 2016 with just desktop vorpx and had a blast. Yes, it wasn’t 3D, but having a dark movie screen in front of you with headphone spatial sound still was a treat. And because it wasn’t geometry, it was smooth as butter.
Nov 4, 2020 at 1:55am #197682
ansemtheiiiParticipantFirst, I want to thanks Ralf for making this wonderful software. I’ve been using Vorpx since 2016 and trying many games with it. I found the FullVR mode work the best game in Walking Simulator like Dear Esther, Amnesia where there is no aiming required. But I always tend to skip FPS game because of Neck-Face-Aim at the enemy, it was cool at first but the neck really strains after a while, so the ideas I’m suggesting is :
–When pressing aim down the sight or just manual aiming, the game screen will enter EdgePeek and follow the 3DOF of the motion controller instead of staying stationary in the center–
Although your surround will be black it will feel like you are using the flashlight like doom 3 to look around in the darkness. Because it only needs to track the 3dof of the controller so it can work on any unsupported game, this ideas was getting from playing the DolphinVR of Metroid Prime trilogy, where the main camera is tracked using the Wiimote, while the head can be used to look around but most object won’t render outside the main camera, so mostly my head will naturally focus on the main camera tracking by the controller. So back to Vorpx, the most game can’t decouple and the head and the gun aim, so making the camera move around the controller instead of the head will give the immersion you are aiming the gun as in VR, sure the black screen might the bother for immersion so that when it better to use the traditional FullVR mode, but in a combat situation, I think to make the camera track the gun is going to make the game feel much better. I know it might be a stretch goal, but as one of the early users of Vorpx, I believe Raft the developer will able to do it, and it will increase newcomer to Vorpx
P/S: this video has the same concept, so I do think it is feasible in Vorpx, making EdgePeek and follow the 3DOF of the motion controller
Jul 23, 2020 at 2:23am #196126
TheBaltParticipantNot shure how good radeon cars perform with VorpX. I would guess DS3 is a demanding game. Your hardware doesnt look that bad to me.
Thanks for taking the time to respond… Going to still dig thru Darksiders 3 and hopefully ill be luckier with Geo 3d in the next game.
Its a fun little spin on the Souls formula – No lie, its the best whip in a game ive ever seen too. If you wanted a more ‘lighthearted’ take on the Souls formula and to play a totally badass chick (Fury is awesome compared to the other horsemen so far) with a totally wicked video game Whip, give it a try. Its on Xbox Game Pass for PC if anyone has that!
Take care and be safe
Jun 15, 2020 at 3:46pm #195332Topic: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – first person mod
in forum General vorpX Discussion
VRified GamesParticipantHi Ralf,
There is a profile for Sekiro which is optimised for Third person play
Its in immersive screen etc.
Dark Souls 3 (which I believe is the same engine) also has a profile designed this way.
Now,
Both games have a first person mod, via, cheat engine.
Dark souls 3 can be put into full vr mode and tweaked. The results are great. Fantastic scale, great geometry 3d and positional tracking.
Unfortunately I have run into a problem with Sekiro,
I had assumed it would behave just like dark souls 3…..and for the most part it does.
Bit the lighting/shadows glitch like a S.O.B when positional tracking is enabled.
Is there anything that can be done (like in Dark Souls 3) to fix that issue?
Many thanks in advance
May 25, 2020 at 8:56am #194880In reply to: Call of Duty 2
dellrifter22ParticipantThanks RJK for this profile, I finally got around to playing COD2 with it.
I’ve made some slight adjustments to better suit a more dark and gritty feel, and put this option on the cloud for others that may like it this way. It requires the same reshade fix RJK lists above, an FOV 105 config edit, and should be used with 2560×1440.
Either type this into the game console, or add it to the config.cfg file found in the game directory Players folder.
bind Q “cg_fov 105”
Now press Q at the start of each mission to reset the correct FOV.
Apr 7, 2020 at 12:16am #193682Topic: Unable to leave Oculus home room
in forum Technical Support
SanjiyanParticipantRecently reinstalled VorpX to run around some, Oculus Rift been collecting some dust recently but in light of our quarantine I wanted to have some fun. Decided to get Amnesia The Dark Decent a try. Now I don’t know if the what I put in the title is the “right” term for my problem, but when you put on your Oculus now you are in what I am calling the home room that you design and look at menus. No idea if that is what Oculus calls it.
Anyway, I open up the Rift, then I open up Steam, then I run the game (any game) and the game runs. I see a quick message about VorpX hooking in to the game and on my Monitor I “see” what should be displaying in the Rift, a spit Left/Right view of the game, but in the headset I am still in my home room thing. I can’t figure out if there is an “exit” to that room or something, I can run other games I have from the Oculus Store, but it never seems to display VorpX.
One of the things I think might be an issue is in General under Device Selection it just says Generic VR Headset (extended mode), and while trying to re-learn how to use VorpX I have seen several screen shots or videos of that screen where it actually says Oculus Rift there… But that isn’t an option in my dropdown.
Any tips on what I am missing?

Hi there!!
Any way to get better G3D?First, I want to thanks Ralf for making this wonderful software.
Hi Ralf,
There is a profile for Sekiro which is optimised for Third person play
Recently reinstalled VorpX to run around some, Oculus Rift been collecting some dust recently but in light of our quarantine I wanted to have some fun.
