Im so sick and tired of this program. Now it wont wven start. After hours of getting to work i was playing it just fine now i cant even get it to start on my headset. It starts on the computer not the quest. This program is way more trouble than its worth. I wish i could get a refund but the customer service for vorpx is bs.

I’m beginning to think that g3d is not going to be possible, even if I get the shaders fixed, because the game’s performance is really bad. At 1080p and the lowest graphics settings I can only get 47 fps without vorpx, 30 with z3d, and 20 with g3d,at 97-100% gpu utilization.

I’ll still try to make a usable profile for it, time permitting. Maybe someday I’ll be the proud owner of a 3080 and can actually use it.

Hey all, I’m trying to play WRC in Immersive Mode.
In 2d I can play it with almost all details to the max, I9 2080 Super, but in Vorpx Immersive Mode the fps takes a HUGE hit.

I can only get stable 90fps with my G2 reverb when setting the game resolution to 1920×1080, set supersamplink in SteamVR to 70% and even then I have to set graphic details to medium.

The difficult thing about figuring out what is causing this hit is that I now have settings in VorpX, SteamVR and within the game itself.

So I was hoping maybe someone already figured out what is causing huge fps hits in Immersive mode in general?

I am entirely lost at this point. For two days now I have tried everything to get Vorpx to hook to any game I own, and nothing is happening. I have disabled my AV, removed all overlays from anything that could possibly run, manually changed graphics settings for certain games, reinstalled Vorpx, restarted my computer, and tried running everything in every order possible. All that happens, though, is the game runs as normal without Vorpx ever hooking to it.

What really confuses me about this is the fact that it is so sudden. Not only will it not work on games I haven’t tried Vorpx with before, like RDR2 and Bannerlord, but also with games like Arma 3 and Verdun/Tannenberg that have worked before. Even IL-2 1946, which I played in Vorpx only two weeks ago, doesn’t work!

Please help. Like I said, this is a brand new issue, and I have used and loved Vorpx for over a year. No idea what caused this to start now.

    Hello,

I have recently started using Vorpx again and have been trying out some older games with it.

Entropia Universe does not seem to want to work at all no matter what i try, i am currently using a version of quake 3 profile. For some reson even though it is not in the profile exe list it keeps trying to load the clientloader.exe not the game exe itself. If i start vorpx after having loaded the launcher it then tries to hook into the correct entropia.exe selected in the profile (i have checked there are no duplicate profiles). But it just does nothing…Vr headset has a box with entropia icon saying loading but it never does anything. I have seen around a few forums ppl getting this to work but they never list the options and or profile for me to use. Any help on this would be appreciated, even a “definately doesnt work” lol. Currently using Rift S.
EU is a very esoteric game and due to real cash econ may have something similar to anti cheat/hack stopping it maybe.

    Hey everyone,

So made a thread earlier in 2020 when lockdown started happening trying to get ideas for good games to play via Vorpx during the last year and wanted to make a new recommendation thread, if anyone was interested in posting their best Vorpx experiences.

My last thread I mentioned my favorite, before 2020, being modded 1st person Sekiro, 1st person Dark Souls 3, 1st Person Mass Effect Andromeda

So I didnt get to do as much Vorpx gaming in 2020 as I would have liked, but I would like to point out some great experiences I had in Vorpx in 2020

    So for new recommendations:

Resident Evil 7 – even with Z-Adaptive, not Geo3d. There were some issues with gun ghosting and shadows in Geo 3d for me, but Z-Adaptive didnt have those at all.

Seriously – if you were kinda bored with RE, I was too, but… this game is just a goddamn treasure and should be experienced by -ANYONE- with Vorpx. You can find it for like 8 bucks on Keys sites.

Metro Exodus was pretty fantastic as well, was happy with the direction that game took with the open world FPS design and surprised me with how well it ran in Vorpx.

Titanfall 2 – Ran incredibly smooth and just a great campaign in VR

On a more difficult recommendation, got Dark souls 2 to work in 1st person VR with Cheat Engine. That was a fun one, you could find the instructions online if you wanted to – but Id Recommend Sekiro or Dark Souls 3 before it, much easier to get up and running.

So anyone have any games they thought were particularly good to experience they want to point out in the last few months/year?

Thanks for your time and take care

    Hey everyone,

So I typically use DirectVR when available because it does make my headtracking much smoother and work better overall. In Outer worlds you need to do DirectVR before touching anything on the controller, which I have been doing so far while trying to get this to work right.

Problem is – this may be unusual, but I like to still have full Y Axis function of the Right Stick even with full headtracking (Basically, I want to be able to use Headtracking + normal controls for looking up & down, as if the game was pancake)

Problem Im running into is, after doing the DirectVR Scan, it makes my right stick only work on the X Axis, not the Y axis… and I did set the option in controls to “Set y axis use” to 1.0; but when I do that, it tells me I have to reboot the game to ‘turn’ the Y Axis option on under the input settings.

When I reboot the game, I have to run DirectVR again and basically get stuck in a loop – use DirectVR to get the Headtracking working w/ a controller, then, go to Input and set Y Axis on right stick to 100%, then it tells me to reboot to get it to work; Reboot and do DirectVR to get headtracking to work – then it ‘overwrites’ the Y Axis option, from what I can tell.

Does anyone have a profile they can share that works with DirectVR + has full Y Axis support for the right control stick?

Thank you very much for your time, take care!

It’s still worth it, there are hundreds of thousands of Index’s and Vive’s, and WMR may add it eventually. As for whether you could get it to do RTX, the whole point of this is that you have to render a fraction of the frames. If you can hit 24fps with at least 90% SS, you’re in.

The general use case of what @HTMadge described seems to be for games that have two or more mechanics that are very different.
For example RPGs can be very different in exploration vs. combat. When exploring it’s nice to look around, but in combat the camera can follow a target. With head tracking there are two sources trying to orient the camera resulting in a janky experience.
Shooters can also have very different mechanics for example switching from first person to third person when entering a vehicle.

Another issue is with games that display kb+mouse hints when the mouse is moving, even if the control option is a gamepad. For the most part this is just a minor nuisance. But during some scripted interactive action sequences the mechanic itself is that you need to press some buttons the game tells you to.

Thanks Ogrescar, I think that 3080 is not powerful enough..
I tried it with my RiftS on my other PC (6700k rtx3070) and I was getting 70+FPS

It seems that resolution bump + refresh rate bump + link overhead.. takes a toll even on 3080
On top it seems that v12 “reworked mod” also has a hit on performance

I installed older version of “reworked” and I’m getting 45-50fps now at 2880×2160, it still dips to 39-40 sometimes, but it looks beautiful and is playable

    Hi Ralf,

    Game: World Adrift Island Creator

It fully works in Z-buffer mode, but I would like to run it in Geometry mode.

Attempted to clone the Unity 5 profile, and it almost works! The game starts and all the menus and the empty editor works.

But when I attempt to load a world from the Steam Workshop, Island Creator suddenly quits. It happens only if VorpX’s Unity 5 profile is used.

Sometimes I even see the island appearing in glorious Geometry 3D with the trees in the wind animated properly before the game just disappears. So it does not quit immediately, only 1-2 seconds later, but the timing varies.

VorpX log does not say much. There is only one log line appended after the world load is started:
INF: vorpControl: Exiting process life thread: island_gen.exe, 1608

I attempt to get log output on the game’s side, but currently cannot find its log file. I will keep you posted here.

World Adrift Island Creator is the only thing left for WA players, since the original MMO game was closed in 2019.

Thank you for having a look,
    Viktor

Comparing it by toggling on/off will get me: sorta-looks-3D and now-its-not-3d while the monochrome depth buffer visualization clearly shows what objects have depth, how far it goes, how strong it is…you know for fine tuning, which I guess is more relevant to reshade shader since there are lots of knobs to flip, but as I mentioned even vorpx has few that might be more clear this way like far/near fine tuning on z3d for example.

I am not saying there is a dying need for it, just that its a nice feature to have that I saw in other app.

I realize the Java version has actual VR support, but the Bedrock edition does not. I only play Bedrock and was hoping to see my world I’ve made there in VR, so I thought I would try to use VorpX. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to hook on to Minecraft to even attempt to play around with it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am fairly new to VorpX.

I tried setting up the game with superdepth3d, but even with msaa disabled, it doesn’t have a usable depth buffer. Maybe g3d is still possible, but I’d say it’s a long shot.

I just dont see how it could be that hard to “unlock” the camera view and make it function in 3D.. especially for the Ralphster.. I wonder if hes tried as I have a feeling if h did he could figure it out eventually.. hes worked wonders lol

Please everyone check out VPX in VR, its awesome. not all but most tables work very well in VR and pancake. Some tables even have VR rooms around them (just like FX2 VR). It really is incredible. I will help anyone out who needs it.

I have tried it! I love it but I cant get it running again.. man.. it sucks..
