No issue here with 2+3 that much I can safely say without checking. Both have been tested before the last update.

I don’t really know what to suggest TBH as I have no clue what might cause this issue for you. The only thing I can recommend is resetting the profile to default and/or do a factory reset in case you haven’t done that before. Although I don’t see how any vorpX setting at all could make your cursor disappear, so that probably won’t do anything.

Also try to disable every program running in the background, just in case there is some super weird, inexplicable conflict with something else running.

And last but not least try running the game both windowed and fullscreen, maybe that makes a difference for some reason.

You probably have some other technology for building fake 3D. In 3D VISION Compatibility mode, any depth and convergence can be adjusted. Artifacts around the edges of objects do not become more noticeable. At the same time, all geometry is displayed in 3D absolutely precisely and naturally. The only drawback is the inability to display transparent objects in 3D such as water, smoke, fog, glass, fire, etс. But this is a common problem of all fake 3D modes.
Nevertheless, I believe that you should allow us to adjust the Z3D normal mode at our discretion, and give us access to the depth settings and convergence.

    ——-
There is one more point that I wanted to ask you about. Why don’t you add focus to infinity in Immersive and Cinema modes?
You have set focus comparable to the TV screen in a room with one or two meters. Because of this, in games there is no proper one-on-one scale with reality. Do you understand what I’m talking about? You have a Focal setting. It fixes a problem with scale. But unfortunately, it only works in 3D. For games in 2D, there are no options.
You set focus to infinity only in Direct VR mode. But in this mode it is not very convenient to play with the gamepad, since the virtual screen is always attached to the helmet

There is a 3. way i found out yesterday:
But this is only for NVIDIA Users:

You are still able to install the Nvidia 3D Vision driver via
3D Fix Manager – Helix Mod.

If you install this tool, then in the program you need to click on 3D on and off until the programs says it will download the latest Nvidia 3D Vision Driver, you are able to keep your updated graphics driver without need to delete it, it will just “add the 3D Vision feature which Nvidia did remove last year, because they didnt support it anymore”.

The 3D fix manager “fixes” the 3D Vision Profiles also, i tested yesterday for the first time ever Metal Gear Solid – The Phantom Pain and Quantum Break.
Both worked in awesome 3D. Also the fixed Profiles are also better and doesnt have any shadow problems like the normal driver had.
That means you play then like an better “Nvidia 3D Vision 2.0 driver”

You just need to set also all in Side by Side in the Program.
Then play it via Virtaul Desktop or Vopx Desktop Viewer and activate SBS.
That means you can play all Nvidia 3D Vison supported Game in Cinema Mode then.

I also tried to find an FOV Fix for Quantum Break, but there isnt one, so i think the “best VR experience” for Quantum Break is in the Cinema Mode or Full VR zoomed out. But its possible :)

    Hey,
you can play unsupported Games in “Cinema Mode” or “almost Full VR without Positional Tracking” (Z3D) (including Quantum Break Steam Version -Direct X11) like this :

1.Way: Install Reshade and the Plugin for Reshade “Superdepth 3D”,
ingame set it in Side by Side mode to get Z3D. You can freely set the 3D Strentgh and so on,
you need to check out whats the best for you.
If the 3D is not good, try to change the Buffer to “Normal Z Reversed”.

Now you can play it via Vorpx Desktop Viewer or Virtual Desktop on your VR Headset, you have to activate Side by Side Mode.
Addiotionally you can install the Reshade Plugin “Lumasharpen”
to get the same sharpening feature like in Vorpx.

    One omportant note:

All Games have to run in “windowed mode” or “borderless Fullscreen”.
If a game doesnt support it,
no problem: just install the programm “borderless gaming”
to get the game in borderless Fullscreen.
Because when the game runs in fullscreen both programs cannout capture it.
I also recommend to play all Games in 1280×1024.

    2. Way:
Install Tridef 3D and create an Generic 3D Profile, Tridef 3D does a very great Job, btw you are also able to watch 2D Movies on your PC with really not bad 3D (realtime converting).
Then also you can choose if you use Virtual Desktop or Vorpx Desktop Viewer.
One important note here: you can also keep reshade installed and you can use the sharpening feature then.

The good thing about this is, this also works with Direct X8 Games.

Also, you can download “opentrack” to use headtracking.
Also you can use flawless Widescreen for FOV Change.

    Hey everyone,

So ive been with Vorpx for awhile and with Lockdown 2020 going on… i assume a fair amount of us are largely indoors, looking for games to play (maybe getting bored of the games we got since we are this far into it.)

So – I thought, may not be a horrible idea to share what Vorpx experiences we had that we thought were exceptionally good (or just exceptionally unique and need to be experienced)

So, Im offering my top picks here and some of them require Mods.

First of all – Dark Souls 3 with First Person Mod.
    https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/20/?

Now, to use this mod it does require you basically “not using” many of the games mechanics. You cant really use the Lock On ability because the first person camera mod basically makes Lock on go TOTALLY insane… So you pretty much are stuck playing the game as a quick 2 handed character. Now, this sounds awful, but once you get the flow of things (and things are indeed easier to dodge in first person – you see those swings coming) you will be massacring the Dark Souls 3 monsters with well timed rolls and a solid 2 handed weapon.

Now, I dont want anyone to feel like Im sending them to their deaths here, so there is a GREAT 2 handed weapon available at the start of the game, after you kill the first boss.

    https://youtu.be/dvUxVcNBfDk?t=78

Watch that video and he will lead you to the best two handed option early in game that you can level up and use all the way to the end of the game – im not lying, beat the game with zero lock on and just dodging and using that sword, leveling it up as i went. So unfortunately – Shield blocks and Spellcasting are kinda out of the window since Lock on doesnt work right… but its still an incredible experience to see the beautifucally horrific monsters in Dark Souls 3 up close and the ‘fun part’ is – your sword SWINGS where you are ‘looking’ – so there is some degree of motion controls because you will be slashing at one dude and turn your head to hit his buddy and your sword slash WILL follow your ‘face’… so you aim with your head.. its kinda glorious and fun if youre a Dark Souls Fan.

Anyways, Dark Souls 3 is totally playable like this (if youre a souls fan, i think most of us agree, Dark Souls 3 is far and away the easiest of the bunch, so this isnt impossible. Now this does use CheatEngine so you want to be playing offline for this mod)

Next up, Sekiro with a first person mod.

This one I have NOT finished the game yet – but – it seems to work much better than the Dark Souls 3 mod, it doesnt make the camera go wonky on lock ons so you can lock onto your enemies and “stand your ground” as you normally would in Sekiro (and parries seemed WAY easier in first person, seeing when their sword is about to hit you is alot easier when theyre right in your face)

    https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/474

This one is much easier to get up and running, dont need to worry about getting a specific sword and everything. For extra fun – if you wanted to feel a bit more like Spider Man + Sekiro, you can increase the range of your grapple hook as well, this one is just for funsies, but fuck it,youre modding the game anyhow :P

    https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/354

    ________________________________________________________________________________

So thats the end of my Souls recommendations haha.

Onto some other fun ones. GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas and GTA 4 all have First person mods and work great in Vorpx. GTA5 has a few VR mods out there and i havent dug into it yet to know whats better or not, but you can get first person mods for Vice City and San Andreas and 4 and experience driving your car in first person, looking over your shoulder (they actually have an animation where when you look into your blind spot you see your characters shoulder leaning back like in real life to check a blind spot lol).. and being in VR listening to the absurd radio shows that pop up on there is just alot of fun.

Also just great out of the box experiences – All the Metro games. Even though it doesnt have full 3d I found a good profile for Evil Within 2 and that game features a good first person mode, it might be fun for survival horror fans to just put it up on immersive screen mode.. it was a ton of fun when I played it.

Just trying to give some recommendations to my fellow Vorpxers about games that are out there that are alot of fun.

Please feel free to add your personal favorites to this list so we can try to see if we might be able to help eachother pick out our next games

There is no such thing as a “3 core bug”, neither in 3D-Vision nor in vorpX. I am aware that this rather odd myth is fairly popular among members of the 3D-Vision community for some reason, but it’s really just that: an odd myth.

The actual fact of the matter is that submitting work to the GPU in most current game engines is still largely a serial task. It doesn’t automatically get parallelized just because you use a CPU with more cores. If one core gets maxed out by the main render thread, the whole game is limited at that point, no matter how many cores are left doing nothing. That’s not a bug, that’s just how things work. The only ones who can change that are the game devs by making better use of multithreading in their rendering code (as far as possible, there are limits to that).

As for your original question, the recommendations I can give you are the ones above.

Not that i know of, Ralf and i use the application regularly. their anti cheat garbage is too extreme, i got nothing running and cant even get gears 5 to launch because their anti cheat system is so overzealous, i have no clue what it thinks its finding but ive tried disabling everything and it wont even launch a game WITHOUT Vorpx being involved.

I have had Gamepass games work perfectly with Vorpx that were single player – like Darksiders 3 worked 100% fine. Outer Worlds worked fine but there was another user who had controller issues with the GamePass version as well, I think the profile just wasnt able to get into the ini files or whatever it is you usually tweak to get the mk/controller functionality to work at same time.

So, sorry, thats not exactly an answer to your question, but my experience with this program, even on its own, has been sketch. Vorpx has worked for single player games, but Outer Worlds did have a control problem I think another user replicated, neither of us could figure it out.

So – long story short – you work hard for us and i appreciate you coming out and just asking bluntly to help make the program more functional for us – but i think youre fighting an impossible battle with the current iteration of Xbox Game Pass games. Its going to work sometimes but I wouldnt stress it, as a consumer, I appreciate you trying to get it to work – but dont beat yourself up over this one at all; its very much so still an application with many of its own issues that are totally out of your control.

Thanks for your time and be safe with the craziness going on!

ilkj4832z posted a Z3D profile for JC4 to the vorpX cloud today.

You can log in to the Cloud Profiles page of the vorpX config, search “just cause 4” in the Game/App box and import the profile that appears below.

To double check that the game is assigned to a profile, look for it in your Local Profiles list, and see that it has the exe listed in the top right window. If not, you can then add the JC4 exe to that or any other profile you wish to test it with.

I own six headsets each one has it’s plus and minus.
    Rift-S
    Odyssey
    Odyssey +
    HP reverb
    Valve Index
    Vive Cosmos

I play mostly seated so my favorite is HP Reverb true 4K clear as 1080P monitor but you need a top of line gaming computer
Odyssey and Odyssey good for seated and standing (Cheap $249 in US) when on sale.
Valve Index Excellent Tracking good for all games seated, standing and roomscale adjustable refresh rate 80,90,120 and 144 HZ
    Index controllers are great.
    High end computer required
Now for – sold out and highest price of VR headset I own but everything is included and customer support is excellent
Rift S excellent tracking for inside out, cheap clear image comes with everything you need and priced at $399 plays steamvr and oculus exclusives games controllers are great.
    Middle range PC
Customer support and service are very good.
minus sound no headphones sound tinny headband sound for this is plus because I’m close to deaf in my left ear I can wear hearing aid when I’m using the Rift-S.
Vive Cosmos the worst headset I every owned.
Also any Pimax headsets need base stations, headphones and controllers very pricey $1200 to get started and service is the worst.
I would suggest also to purchase a PCI-express USB 3.0 (StarTech or inatech)

Just a wild guess, but if full VR is showing a cinema screen that’s static as if it was cinema mode, perhaps you’ve got edge peek toggled on. Check what its hotkey is and press it while using fullvr mode.

Edit: also if you haven’t already, check the image zoom setting in the ingame vorpx menu while in fullvr mode, this causes the view to fill the screen or viceversa, also make sure the proportion is 1:1 so there isn’t any letterboxing. If you’re playing on G3D mode and can’t move around there’s also a position unlock setting.

    Hello,

I wanted to try an perfectly fixed “Call of Duty World at War (improved)” G3D Profile from the Cloud from the Author: dellrifter22 to Black Ops 1, because on the official black ops 1 profile, it has wrong Hand/Weapon Sizes (Giant Hands and not correct 3D). Black Ops 1 and World at War are using the same engine.
The official Black Ops 1 profile cant be removed and when i rename the Game exe (blackops.exe) then the game wont start.

Can anyone tell me, what i else could do ? Because you aren´t be able to just remove an official profile ?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Hey everyone,

So i am frustrated because ive been trying to decide on a game to play and of course – it doesnt work. not blaming vorpx, it works 99.9% of the time but im just at a loss here and frustrated.

i am running in dx11 mode, not dx12; i have tried the official vorpx profile and dellrifters profile, both same thing – get to a ‘immersive screen mode’ screen… and nothing happens.

i have all my malware and antivirus stuff disabled, im on a 4930k processor, 16 gigs ram and an AMD 5600XT.

The game launches 100% fine without vorpx, but wont launch with it and actually even get to the logos (just attaches and goes to black screen)

Any help would be appreciated, just spent like over an hour trying to get this to work and too frustrated to continue.
    Thank you for your time

Ars has a decent vr hw guide: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/03/the-ultimate-half-life-vr-hardware-guide-from-frugal-to-fantastic/

I’ve been using an Odyssey+ and my only complaint is the WMR portal is stupid and annoying. If I had to pick something new and money was no object, it’d be the Index, mostly because it has the least amount of overhead required to use (you need steamvr to use just about any vr program these days anyway).

I’m so glad you posted this ralf. I have play 2 or 3 hours so far of Alyx and have enjoyed it mostly. I started out playing on a brand new Index that I was lucky enough to pick up when it went on sale last time, but I really hate the controllers. I really don’t like how to grab and crush things with force, I really prefer the Oculus Touch controller and their grab button. I also hate the touch pad area on the Index Controllers for switching weapons (well I guess its alright).
I rebuilt a PC just for this release and ran into all sorts of issues and I’m a super computer nerd with over 40 computers in my house (3 VR stations even). After having issues with Oculus Home loading up because of HMD not detected, I uninstalled Oculus software and reinstalled everything (took like 12 hours). Played 1 hour with the Index and then switched to the Rift-S. The visuals are truely amazing and the best that I have ever seen, but looks is not everything as I still play old 1980’s arcade games :)
I too have thought that I really did prefer VorpX games like Half-Life 2, Black Mesa (awesome), Bioshock, Borderlands, etc. I like to sit down on a swivel chair and it just works sooo well now.
Thanks Ralf for your incredible product and can’t wait for the next release. Hope that Doom Eternal could be possible at some point in the future.
