I’ve been playing Elder Scrolls Online using the cinema mode and my cursor cannot reach the menus on the sides. This forces me to tilt my headset to see my monitor to use the menus very often making it a huge headache.

I know edgepeek is an option but it does not work in Cinema Mode.
In cinema mode all i get is the mini zoomed in pop up screen at the bottom which does not help this matter.

    What do i do?

I bought VORPX purely to play this game

Is there anything from your end that can be done to fix this or is it purely an Nvidia driver issue?

Playing Black Mesa with a ‘normal’ monitor FOV currently messes up the image due the DirectVR weapon handling, which moves the weapon out of sight in VR mode. At lower-than-VR-FOV it currently totally messes up the image though. Has been taken care of for the next build already, for now please switch to ‘Generic HMD’ temporarily and turn off automatic weapon handling on the DirectVR page of the menu. Then switch back to ‘Generic 3D Display’.

    That aside:

Like the message that gets displayed on each launch in SBS3D mode says, vorpX is made for VR primarily. SBS 3D was added on request and is not officially supoprted. Any potential expert settings are purely VR related, there aren’t any expert settingd for SBS 3D mode.

Aiming is usually bound to mouse movement with vorpX. There are some exceptions from this rule, most notably Cyberpunk that comes with free VR controller aiming in the latest vorpX 24.1, but those really are exceptions.

Thanks but this aiming isn’t only bound to the mouse’s movement, the aiming can be done purely by head movement – literally without touching the mouse.

Both Steam and GOG allow you to easily switch back to the last classic version of the game. Almost as if CDPR had a hunch that not everyone would be overly fond of their ‘next gen’ version. In Steam simply subcribe to the ‘classic’ beta in the game properties.

That’s a better choice for vorpX. DX11 (required for G3D) graphics have been severly downgraded in the ‘next gen’ version, probably to make DX12/RTX stand out more. Shadows are less visible/defined, the best possible ambient occlusion method has been removed etc. All mysteriously things that then look better again when switching to RTX…

So classic DX11 looks a lot better than ‘next gen’ DX11, actually almost as good as the much more demanding DX12/RTX. One could almost get the impression that some nVidia marketing money might have been at work behind the scenes. Purely potentially, of course. ;)

Sorry @MarcDownn, don’t mean to hijack this thread/question, but was curious if you could share your insights why you prefer Z3D over G3D? I know it personal preference, so purely curious perhaps it’s an aspect I haven’t considered.

Perhaps late to the party, but you can try playing via remote streaming like Shadow cloud pc, or just pure parsec, vorpx can quite correctly hook on those remote streaming apps, and while experience might not be as immersive as vorpx directly to game, i think still quite enjoyable, and there is no chance this way sea of thieves or any game will be able to ban player for vorpx this way.

Set the ingame resolution scale between 50% -85%! If you leave it at 100% you will deactivate DLSS and activate DLAA that will make a better image quality but will have a not a performance boost like DLSS !

This one is for DLSS 2.5.1, only:

Starfield FSR2 Bridge – Replacing FSR2 with DLSS or XeSS (without Reshade !)

    https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/196%5B/quote%5D

(You can even try DLSS 3.5 without frame generation with a paid mod from https://www.patreon.com/PureDark , but that has a very bad reputation, thus just do not talk about it that you install that mod !)

gamepad override is the best option anyway because of head tracking. With such a configuration switching between controllers and gamepad works perfectly fine.

Now I’m confused. Emulators aside, this is EXACTLY what I’m trying to do: switching between controllers and gamepad (ground/flight). And it’s not fine because of that “override override” I guess… Triggering map opening on gamepad RP press/release etc. Or am I doing something wrong? But I think I have tried everything. Forget my joysticks via gamepad emulator setup, it just acts as a pure gamepad, and I verified the problem by connecting an actual gamepad instead of an emulator.

So yes, controllers and gamepad is my goal, essentially, and not simultaneously, but taking over one another, just as in a default game keyboard and gamepad take over each other. And that will be popular among many, just as it is in 2D mode. The fact that in my case joystick takes the place of a gamepad is irrelevant.

I’ll see what I can do. Switching between gamepad and mouse/kb is no problem BTW. The ‘override override’ is purely related to switching between motion controllers and gamepad/joystick. Probably not something many will do.

Due to the game not supporting simultaneous mouse/gamepad input using the gamepad override is the best option anyway because of head tracking. With such a configuration switching between controllers and gamepad works perfectly fine.

    hi thanks for reading.

i’m using the beta vorpx version from the forum.

i searched the forum for this problem and the only page in the first few pages of results that sounded helpful, when i clicked the link, the forum said the post was gone!

i have a good enough system for anything except new AAA DX12 games to run at 200-500 percent resolution scaling, this isn’t an fps problem.

    i have a 90hz wmr hmd, a 75hz monitor, and geforce 2080ti.

i get no stutter/judder in native steamvr or openxr games (so long as i keep fps over 90) this has only happened in vorpx. i also dont get the stutterjudder if i use vorpx in pure 2d mode or even Z3D mode. i have motion reprojection turned off in my wmr settings and my openxr for wmr settings, and of course both are also set to 90hz.

here is when i get stutterjudder in vorpx and how bad:

worst: G3D, DirectVR, Head tracking prediction On (this setting also causes extreme ghosting of moving objects, i found i get less than half as much stutter and ghosting by turning head tracking prediction off)

very bad: G3D, DirectVR (ghosting and stuttering is still too bad to be playable)

bad: G3D, immersive/cinema (might not improve at all, might just look a little better from being less zoomed-in)

i have tried turning all headtracking options to the least judder modes, that doesn’t help. (judderfree, then safe/off) and also disabling headtracking totally, no difference.

some games i get just enough less stutter for them to be playable they just could look a little better in motion (official elder scrolls) other games way too much stutter to even enjoy (cloud profile homefront). official profiles run a little better most of the time, they are playable and enjoyable but the problem is still at least slightly there.

one official G3D profile i tried worked perfectly fine: warband.

all wmr and openxr drivers are newest, regularly updates. never used another hmd so no conflicting settings anywhere. vsync is turned off everywhere it could possibly be turned off.

please read this post before replying, i will ignore replies that dont take account of the info i posted. please also try not to just post one-line replies, explain and offer multiple stages of tweaking in case your first suggestion doesnt work. thank you.

By default my controllers had button-mapping to keys on my keyboard – then Vorpx uses those keys as bindings for the controller.

However; it appears there is some gesture support for some games – just can’t get gestures to work for the Quest 2 so I figured it just wasn’t supported.

After spending hours trying to get Vorpx to do what native VR games do; I’ve discovered that you have to just tweak the games to your own liking – but games like Fallout 3 felt clunky to me in Vorpx, same with Cyberpunk so I think I’ll just stick with native VR games.

It is a neat piece of software, but I was expecting it to run non-VR titles like a VR game; it won’t feel as smooth – but if you take the time to tweak settings (graphics) it can look amazing just having a hard time with the lack of gesture control (I want to be able to aim my gun with my hand, not purely head-tracked – I got used to Fallout 4 VR and wanted to create a similar experience in Fallout 3).

Sorry for coming back to this thread so late, got side-tracked with various things RL. I was really hoping a dev would reply but it’s okay

A new profile with decent 3D is in the cloud section of the vorpx config app !

Prefer 16:10 Borderless Window – HUD 60% – FOV MAX – Graphics Low-Medium – Textures + Antialiasing Epic – Raytracing off – Motion Blur off – Vsync off

    Optional:
    FOV_Mod:”github.com/Lyall/JediSurvivorFix”
    DLSS_Mod: “PureDark”

Yes please! I just purchased VorpX specifically with the hopes of playing this game in G3D on my Index. I haven’t used VorpX before and now I’m trying to learn the whole program from the ground up just to play this game. Anyone that can help, please do!
I believe the engine is Unreal 4. I saw in a YT video to try using Jedi Fallen order or Abzu when creating a new profile. But no matter what I’ve tried I can’t even get it to hook. If anyone could help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. <3

And by the way this game is pure art, it’s so amazingly gorgeous to look at and is atmospheric as HELL – it would be such an incredible experience in VR! You should check it out if you like HR Giger, atmospheric dark fantasy, Myst-like environmental puzzles, and ambient music. Help me live my fantasy of being on an alien planet in VR :D
