Hi,
I tried to search the forum but could not find issue for this.
The Witcher 3 in VorpX I crash for browsing around invetory for more than 1 min. I can see from Process Lasso how Witcher3.exe starts to eat up memory while I stay in inventory (I have 32GB, it crashes around 28GB).
– If I exit inventory. It will not crash but does not free memory, so if I stayed 30sek it resered 20GB it still keeps this and I can continue to play, if I re-enter inventory is same game instance then it starts to go up 20GB – 25GB etc and will crash. Reload game – reload save game and good to go again…Easy to replicate. No need to do anything it just eats memory while stayin in inventory.
This problem does not happen if I disable VorpX and play normally. No problem here. This is clearly VorX issue.
My VorpX is in default settings (Configure VoprX -> Full Factory Reset).
Otherwise VorpX work perfectly with Batman, Fallout 4, Skyrim etc. No similar problems. Also other vice Witcher 3 works great, just have to avoid merchants etc.
Sorry if this has already been posted. Please redirect me to right thread if this is the case.
Thank you in advance for your support! And thank you for great product (VorpX)!
Best reagrards,
AkiI just got vorpX and tried The Witcher 3 with Oculus Home 2.0
I can enter the game. It keep quick shakes whole screen a little each 2-3 seconds, then comes next 2-3 seconds. I can play game, it works fine. But I can not play like this.
I open the Del menu, the mean shake as well. I have tried all modes, all shake.
Anyone can help me?Topic: Graphic settings
@Ralph,, pls can u hint what graphic effects to use with CV1.
Watercooled I7 6900k, GTX1080TI watercooled, 6 ssd 500gb
Skyrim is perfect !
I do have skyrim at a 1920X1440 res. installed. No effects only vsync enabled.
The image is very clear , no coronas flickering or other distorting things just a pain clear image.I do have GTA5 installed but the image is not comparable to skyrim its so bad.
The resolution is 1920X1440. The image has coronas, flickering no clear image fences look like flickering endless.same in Witcher 3 (checked all resolution even 4k )slightly more clear as GTA5 but it looks like too crispy with little corona on everything
Fallout4 has a decent image almost comparable to Skyrim.
Which effects to avoid and which to use , i tried all day long and iam fed up now .
The image on screen is ok but in cv1 its all screwed pls give some hintsTHX
Since some people seem to have problems to run “The Witcher 3” properly, I want to give my optimal settings for a GTX 1080 (@ 2 GHz), i7-6700K (@ 4,4 GHz) system.
Public profile
You can find the public profile under the nickname “Amylion”. It’s a virtual 3D cinema for 4:3 aspect ratio (e.g. 1920 x 1440) with black borders (no ambience). The stereoscopic effect is enhanced both in strength and distance weighting. That leads to a strong 3D effect with minimal distortion at the contours; the drawback is a diminished difference in depth effect on close objects. The black borders are important, because the fresnel lenses of current VR devices sadly amplify bright spots in the periphery overproportionally.Resolution
The recommended resolution is 1920 x 1440.
Contrary to some rumours it doesn’t actually translate to supersampling. If you run native SteamVR apps at a Supersampling factor of 1 (that means without real supersampling at the center of the display), the app will render in 1512 x 1680 for each eye!
1920 x 1440 is comparable, because the virtual cinema doesn’t cover the whole field of view. But if you go lower than that, the pixels in the center of the image will get stretched and look bad!In-game settings

Hardware Cursor: OnGamma setting
The biggest issue are the gamma settings. It seems to be bugged. Even the highest in-game gamma settings are way too dark. Most details get lost in almost every scene, especially in dark in-door rooms with some light sources like candles. You have to manually edit the “user.settings” file in the “The Witcher 3” folder in your Windows documents folder.
Set the “GammaValue=1.0” to “GammaValue=2.0”. Start the game normally for a quick test. It should look very bright and washed out (sometimes it fails to load the configuration properly), but in the headset it will look normal (= great).
Input
In the same folder you can edit “input.settings” file to change the inputs that for some mysterious reason are locked in the in-game UI. For example I put the inventory on my Mouse5 button. These settings will work flawlessly on a system with a GTX 1080. You probably can even go higher in some areas (shadows or grass / foliage).
Have fun!
