A lot of that is possible with the latest beta that introduces gestures. Check the video in the post linked below for a short introduction. You can also find a download link there.

A crouch/jump feature is available since many years, you can configure that one on the head tracking page of the vorpX menu.

    vorpX 23.1.0 BETA

    Hey guys,

Two days ago during a longer play test session I discovered that vorpX all of a sudden couldn’t exit cleanly anymore from a lot of games. Strange enough even older builds that worked perfectly fine before.

After a lengthy hunt I could nail the issue down to recent nVidia drivers. To double check that it’s really an nVidia bug and not an ages old undiscovered vorpX bug that just happens to be triggered by new nVidia drivers I then built a DLL without any functionality that is loaded instead of vorpX. Not even this do-nothing-dll reaches its exit point with the latest nVidia drivers. So clearly recent nVidia drivers cause a mess with hook/override DLLs in affected games.

Everything works normally while games are running, just the program exit is borked, so why is this is more than just an annoyance? Most importantly: when vorpX automatically adjusts game settings, it often does that on exit to ensure games don’t overwrite them again afterwards. Since vorpX never reaches this point with recent nVidia drivers in affected games, FOV/resolution etc. auto settings may be (and often are) completely broken in that case. Not good, not good at all.

Probably futile to wait for nVidia to fix this anytime soon, so I’ll try to come up with a workaround. Until that is ready I highly recommend to stay on sligtly older driver builds. Not sure when exactly the issue started to occur, but only fairly new drivers seem to be affected. The driver linked below from February definitely doesn’t have the bug.

    https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/199654/en-us/

You don’t have to strictly roll back your GPU driver if you don’t experience actual problems, but if you encounter games complaining about exit crashes, issues with vorpX auto settings not sticking, or just weird behavior when exiting games, the linked driver will probably help.

I’m still not really sure what that means, sorry. Here’s how you typically use vorpX:

    1. Launch the Oculus PC app (download here: https://www.meta.com/de/de/quest/setup/).
    2. Start Oculus Link (wired or wireless is up to you) in your Quest.
    3. Make sure ‘Oculus’ is selected as youe headset type in the vorpX config app (‘General’ page).
    4. Start vorpX.
    5. Start a the game you want to play with vorpX (or the vorpX desktop viewer if you want to use that).

    Hope that helps.

After buying a new PC, I figured I would just request a new download link from the page. Entered my E-mail and name, but I have never received said E-mail with the link. Weird, since I’m pretty sure this is the E-mail address I used to buy VorpX in 2018.

I have sent you an e-maiil with a download link to the mail address that you used to register here. Let me know if it didn’t reach you.

    So, I downloaded the mod.

Went through the tutorial. Got the green tick with all the gestures. Started the game and not all the controls work.

The trigger controls do work to access the Vorpx menu.
The headset works to look around the game.
But the oculus controller buttons including thumbstick don’t work.

Also, when I change any graphics settings in the game menu it doesn’t seem to make a difference in the oculus. I presume the Vorpx menu overrides the game system settings.

I can use my mouse and keyboard.

I’ve tried re-installing cyberpunk through STEAM. I’ve turned off theatre mode. I’ve tried reinstalling the vorpx mod. I’ve tried stationary boundary and room boundary.

The Oculus is linked using a cable.

I’m running the latest Nvidia GPU DRIVER with my 3080.
I’m running the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update.

Ideally, I’d like to be able to use the oculus controllers but if that’s not possible then I would like to change the settings so that the Field of View is better and not so jittery. It’s really difficult to read any text that comes up in the game on HUD on the Oculus headset. Next to impossible to read anything.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

The virtual display is a display driver like any other, adding it is the same as adding another physical monitor to your PC. I have zero idea how scaling of your primary display can be affected by adding a secondary monitor, that’s just not supposed to happen. Also it’s not something vorpX does directly, stuff like that is entirely handled by Windows.

Anyway, you don’t have to use the virtual display. if you can’t figure out what causes this issue for you, you can use vorpX just like before and add custom resolutions to your actual monitor.

As far as download links are concerned, make sure to enter the same mail address into the form that you used to register vorpX. The system does not send links to unknown mail addresses.

@Ralf Thanks for the response. I’ll try the beta again very soon. Realistically I don’t know how I would ever use the virtual monitor though, not unless you can figure out a way not to make it interfere with the scaling on my primary display. Maybe if I run 200% instead of 225%. In theory zero DSR smoothing should be necessary in that scenario since 4K is exactly 4X 1080p, but Windows scaling has always been a bit wonky. Worth a shot anyway.

I believe I sent the correct request for a download of the latest non-beta, but have not received an email back with download link. Running the Beta from a sector-cloned boot-drive for now instead.

Out of curiosity I tested a few other displays and so far my experience has been this:
100% of the HDMI monitors I’ve tried are seen as available even when they are off.
However, my DLP (Optoma) on HDMI *does* report the on/off status. So this looks to be something HDMI is to be able to do, it just isn’t universally implemented.

I’ve bought new computer and got excited to try some favorite games in VR, but vorpX simply doesn’t want to request new key. I could request a new download link, but when I run the app, enter my e-mail and request code there’s an error. And I’m sure this is correct e-mail, I still have letter with an old key. Please do something, this software is great, but I can’t afford to pay another 30 euro for new copy (and I thing I paid 60 last time)

(Was) broken indeed. Thanks for the heads-up. Since this issue also affected a bunch of other older DX9 titles, it was severe enough to warrent a quick hotfix. I didn’t bump up the version number, so no auto update, but reinstalling with your web installer should get you a version that brings back G3D in Far Cry 1.

if you didn’t keep a copy of the installer, you can get a fresh link here: click.

Yes, I have checked the .exe file names :-(

While this is probably the symptom and not the cause of the issue, here is a clip (not sure is linking to dropbox is allowed here) of me uninstalling VorpX and yet the downloaded local profile is somehow reappeared after reinstall:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/99spshgoe0n5kr4/record_vorpx_issue01.asf?dl=0
which may related to the issue why I couldn’t reset to “default” VorpX experience even after reinstall

You should have received a profile database update when you launched vorpX recently. If not, you can download the latest profile from the cloud profiles page in the config app.

Alternatively you can use the free standalone mod from the link below, which currently has way more features than the regular profile.

So I was probably wrong about the we mod thing but I did roll back my Cyberpunk to a version updated 5 months ago and downloaded CET and the VR mod but it wouldn’t even hook into the game.

Here is a link to the Steam DB where I acquired the older version.
