    @Ralf,
No, there seems to be some conflict going on with the keyboard controls. For the most part, the mouse camera movement in 3rd person is fine, but moving around with wasd keys, using the radial menus is very bonked. Lag in key inputs, keys being stuck on (like if I start walking forward, he just stays going forward for 10 seconds), the radial menus will pop up when I hit tab, but then stay up long after I let go. Like 5-10 second lag with most keyboard input.

Red Dead controls no longer work properly. There is some definite wonkiness, I think with the new mouse cursor scheme. Its impossible to control, he runs around seemingly at random, like the keys are sticking. Menus take seconds to load then don’t work and don’t go away. Movement is almost non-responsive.

The weapon should appear when you press one of the related gamepad buttons or keys normally. Did you maybe raise the camera height before to lower the weapon on the screen? That’s pretty much the only thing I can imagine to be the issue here.

Might make sense to link the weapon y-position to the camera height modifier now that the camera height doesn’t have to be changed anymore to change the weapon position, didn’t think of that.

Your key should still be valid. I fixed a small bug in the check routine, shouldn’t really affect its outcome though (and doesn’t here in a brief test). Probably some weird coincidence. If you need a new one, just shoot me a mail.

Wow! I just had a quick go with Titanfall 2, and I must say I am super impressed by the new weapon adjustment system.

I don’t think the auto-hide timeout was working properly here, as the gun was never visible for any animations in auto-hide mode (only ads scope), but the options in the other mode – to position and scale the weapon exactly how I want – works incredibly well.

This is exactly what Titanfall 2 needed, and I am already jazzed about the possibilities with this being added to the profile authoring tool for user profiles.

Oh, and about the advanced authoring tool… I have noticed that I no longer have access to the advanced pages suddenly with this update, only the Shaders page. Do we need to request new keys?

OpenXR seems to be working great so far, and the custom profile messages are indeed appearing on the monitor, which is helful. Thanks for that Ralf.

    @ adzter :

Haven’t checked the game yet, but I will definitely before the next update. Can’t promise anything, but I’m cautiously optimistic.

    @ all:

For anyone interested in adding this to their own profiles: authoring the feature will be ridiculously easy. After gaining fairly solid understanding of what works and what doesn’t over the last days, authoring is pretty much pressing a button, waiting a second, and then flipping through usually 1-5 candidates that vorpX figured out to potentially be the weapon. Almost cooler than the feature itself… Provided vorpX found a valid candidate, you then just adjust size and position to your liking and define the keys/buttons that activate the weapon. That’s it. All the rocket science hidden behind a single click. Steve Jobs would have been proud of me. ;)

Can’t promise that I’ll get the authoring UI ready in time for the next release, but at the latest it will come with the one after that.

First please try with Oculus Link instead of Virtual Desktop. If the issue still occurs afterwards, I’d suggest to use the vorpX menu with cursor keys + ENTER or a gamepad instead of using the mouse. While not really solving your actual issue, you’d probably be able to circumvent it that way.

Also running games windowed is always worth a shot in case of (potential) input focus glitches.

I never understood why people hate radial wheels. I encountered this kind of interface when i played Undying, and later in many console ports. Loved it, and always preferred it instead of having to memorize and use 20 different keys.

I do have a couple of annoyances though, I’ve been looking at the forum and found Ralf has answered some of them, but not to my satisfaction :D

    1. I play RDR2 with a PS4 controller. When I click delete to enter the Vorpx menu everything spins like crazy. I’ve seen Ralf answer that people should disconnect their joysticks, but in my case that is a no-go, I am playing with the controller. Is there another solution to this crazy spinning?

    2. When I go into RDR2 settings, the red border selection boxes are very badly aligned with the real menu options anywhere in RDR2 settings. I can live with it, but is there a solution to this?

    3. During the game and in settings, I’m shown the click options as keyboard keys (enter for yes, delete for no, etc) instead of the controller buttons (x for yes, circle for no, etc). I do glimpse the corresponding buttons briefly when I click them many times, so this seems an overlayering problem (it does not happen when I play RDR2 PC standalone without Vorpx). Is there a solution to this?

Still reading through guidelines and manuals so my apologies if my questions are redundant :D

    Hello,
I recently purchased vorpX and have not been able to get it working. I have an oculus quest 2 and am trying to play battlefront 2 out of Origin. Most everything I read regards to Steam. My Nvidia drivers are up to date. I have sidequest and virtual desktop. I made sure nothing else is running listed on the troubleshooting pin.
I get the following error after I make sure vorpX is running, and then I launch the game through Origin: Oculus runtime init failed. vorpX will not work correctly. Oculus runtime error: Couldn’t load libOVRRT. (-3001)
After it gives the error, another window pops up after 10 seconds that says “Attaching to starwarsbattlefrontii.exe
Then after 20 seconds or so it says “This takes quite a while. If you suspect the program hangs or you don’t want to use vorpX with to it, click the according button and it has the uninstall hook helper option.

Another thing to note – I can launch the game and it shows Vorpx on the bottom left and the screen looks totally differnent and the resolution is much lower, but the headset tracking does not work, and while in game the hotkeys do not work, even when I try and bind them to new keys.
I also tried running as admin, and from desktop shortcut, and blocking overlays, and running as administrator within vorpx, as well as running the alternative hook method within vorpx config.

    Please help! thank you!

To remap buttons to keyboard keys you need indeed access to an actual keyboard. If you have absolutely no way to get close enough to your PC, the only solution that comes to mind is getting a cheap wireless keyboard.

Games do all kinds of inexplicable crap when you alt-tab away, if you even can – some games simply won’t let you, others crash, blah blah blah. Some work flawlessly with vorpx and others are a pain in the arse. As far as Vorpx is concerned, you’re essentially asking it to drop it’s hook and reacquire it because you decided to check your email mid-game.

If there’s absolutely something that you need to do after starting a game with vorpx, set a windows 10 shortcut, use antimicro to map some keystrokes to your controller, or something other than alt-tabbing if the game is misbehaving in that area. It’s almost always the game, not vorpx, that makes alt-tabbing an issue.

What good are the hot keys though? They dont list the grip button as a button I can assign

You can remap hotkeys in the config app under ‘in-game key bindings’.

So the keys to open up the vorpx menu in game is affecting gameplay and I cannot seem to change anything. I cannot remap the button, nor can i change the button layout within titanfall 2 since it is not set up for a mouse (in the game settings). I tried to disable edge peek buttons but for some reason vorpx does not disable them.

I cannot use my special ability without going into edge peek mode

Thank you! BTW: While for actually playing the game immersive screen mode is clearly the way to go, walking around in first person FullVR occasionally is also quite cool. Head tracking is a bit laggy and you have to adjust the FOV with the ingame hot keys, but for a little stroll around the neighborhood every now and then it works well enough.
