Huh? That has never been the case. vorpX never could hook Arma 3 with BattleEye enabled. You can find countless threads here on the forum where the one and only suggestion regarding the topic since the dawn of time has been disabling BattleEye. I actually had a brief e-mail exchange with BE’s main dev many, many years ago where he refused to whitelist vorpX because in his opinion vorpX hooked into games “the wrong way”…

If it did indeed work at some point, you either must have done something yourself to circumvent BE or there was a temporary bug in BE, although I’d consider that unlikely.

Not sure what you mean with #2. There are two ways to create a new profile: 1. Make a copy of an existing one and assign a game’s main .exe to the copy. 2. Open the vorpX menu and save settings in an unknown game that vorpX is able to hook without a profile. Method 1 is preferable since with a bit of luck it allows to create profiles with 3D if the engines match. Profiles created with method 2 always are 2D only.

Far Cry New Dawn. It’s always been my dream to play it in vr.

I have created new profiles based on the DX12 profiles of Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2, Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, Resident Evil Village, F1 2021 but Z-3D doesn’t work.

In my opinion we need a official vorpx profile !

yeah! for some reason Virtual Desktop is going downhill for me with my Quest 2. Hardly any game starts and frankly it starts to suck big time, hence I am now all in in the Vorpx Desktop viewer – which is great especially with the ambience background, but you can choose any including Cinema and all. The Input you select in the menu itself when you press the DEL button. Change from normal to SBS and thats all she wrote!

For example in Far Cry New Dawn I had to set the FPS limited as it was really poor but Far Cry 6 and 5 run very well on low to mid settings. Need to test whats best on your machine.

I launch the game itself and once its launched I launch the Vorpx View with the VR controller on my dashboard, I find this the easiest way vs the Win button or ALT TAB.

What is strange that some games play straight up (outriders, Far cry even Star Wars Battlefield II), some on the other hand clash and crash straight away like MARVELS Avengers, Control and Quantum Break. No idea why..

For me this would be a risky purchase. Unless I was super keen on this game I would wait for a discount sale to try it. Although you can use the steam refund program, if you can get your testing done before the 2 hour playtime mark.

I knew nothing of this game, but here is what I learned by briefly searching key words among the steam discussions.

    -Unreal Engine 4 game (good)
    -dx12 (bad)
-no mention of FOV increase options (bad)
-cockpit camera video looks like it may have very limited movement, locked to the horizon (bad)

dx12 is the major obstacle here, as we only have a handful of profiles to test with currently. I’ll just say that out of 4 unofficial dx12 games in my library, only 1 has worked with Z3D. And yes, dx12 is Z3D only at this point.

Here are the profiles I would try:

    Grounded
    CyberPunk 2077
    Rdr2
    Resident Evil Village
    Horizon Zero Dawn
    Death Stranding
    Deathloop
    Dying Light 2

And remember that the true exe for UE4 games are hidden inside the Binaries/Win64 folder and always end with the words “shipping.exe”

Well, after writing the above it dawned on me that it was only true before pitch leveling had been added…

I uploaded a new build with ADS hand aiming enabled (unless you turned off pitch leveling in the menu). Head aim still also works to stay consistent with non-ADS aiming, hands can be used for fine grained control on top.

This is great, it should improve the gesture based aiming significantly, as it didn’t make any sense to head aim while holding your hands up. Especially when you were looking in a direction away from your raised hands.

    @ thealx:

Normally just running the update should suffice, but if in doubt try to remove the prior mod version first and then reinstall. Not entirely impossible that the install failed for one or the other reason. The mod version number shown in the game window should be ‘alpha5a’, the ‘a’ indicates that the latest version is installed.

    @ drowhunter:

The Index grip release sensitivity essentially is already ‘no force’ now. Actually 5% to account for potential sensor problems, but that doesn’t really make a difference. Thanks again for the idea.

A punch gesture exists. As far as I’m aware the game only has one melee action though and randomly decides what it actually does when you perform a melee attack. So the punch gesture doesn’t really do anything different than the other melee gestures, it’s just there to add more variety. If there is a way to reliably perform a dedicated punch move in the game, let me know. I’d be more than happy to bind that to the punch gesture.

I tinkered with hand aiming while the ADS gesture is active, and it works while you are actually aiming, BUT: …

    Edit:

I’ve noticed a few times recently where I launch a game to soon discover there is no head roll or tracking – HP Reverb G1 OpenXR. It never seems to happen on a fresh portal boot or first game launch, but sometimes on a 2nd or 3rd game attempt. Rebooting the WMR portal seems to fix it, but I have not experienced this bug prior to Windows/vorpX updates this month.

Along side this new occurrence, I can no longer play some Ubisoft games in OpenXR. I’ve been playing FC5 and FCNewDawn in OpenXR just fine for a month, but now I get an “OpenXR init failed” for both games. They still work in SteamVR mode, but with less ideal performance. Other games still seem to work fine with OpenXR, including the AC games. Odd.

    Hey guys,

Horizon just got an update today, and while before the game just ran like garbage on my machine (textures wouldnt load in, etc, VR did actually work, but I held off on playing the game til a patch)…

So patch came out.. but the game crashes immediately on launch or it will let me get to the first loading screen and crash.

Anyone found a workaround for this yet? I know the game must be launched via SteamVR, I didnt change that setting in Vorpx but still cant get it to not crash. Update is called 1.10, came out 1-19-2021

Since the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Fiasko, the Pipeline of new Games in my “loot scheme” was empty. Bloodlines 2, Dying Light 2, Mass Effect Remastered and Watch Dogs Legion were postponed and the only Game i loved in 2020 was Mafia Remastered. I finished Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017 on a PS4, and play it again was boring. CP77 will save my love to Video Games in general, 2020 and Covid sucks my Passion.

Today is a day to celebrate for all Vorpx Gamer. Over 100 hours of Highest Quality Triple A Content. Only GTA 6, Red Dead Redemption 3 and Squadron 42 are able to beat it. CP77 is a first person game and that is what we need in VR. Its DRM Free and can be modded by the community from day 1.

The most Teething Bugs and Glitches will be fixed by CDPR in hurry, it was the same in the Witcher 3 and this was one of the best Video Game of All time. Overly Critical Point of Views are whining at a highest level.

    vorpX 20.3.1 has been released.

vorpX 20.3.1 is a small maintenance release mainly addressing a few bugs that have been discovered since the last release. Also two new profiles have been added.

    Changed/Fixed

    • Fixed a start problem with Star Wars: Battlefront 1 (and potentially other games) related to the new headset sync.
    • DX9 64bit games didn’t work under some circumstances.
    • Adding programs to the exclude list in the config app did not work anymore.
    • Installing hook helpers did not work on Windows 7
    • DX12/Oculus warning was not shown for Horizon: Zero Dawn

    New Game Profiles

    • Grounded: G3D/Z3D, FullVR, scalable HUD, DirectVR: tracking, FOV, resolution, tweaks
    • F1 2020: G3D/Z3D, immersive screen mode, scalable HUD, DirectVR: tweaks

Two more awesome games in the play queue. Ralf killing it, as always! In an ironic twist, I’ve gotten back into RDR2 after months off, to scratch my RPG itch while waiting for a new VorpX version so I’m looking forward to that fix equally as much.
Also, Zero Dawn has been having performance issues for a lot of people on initial release, just a heads up to everyone. It might be stuttery until they release an optimization patch.

Considering how often profiles break these days after games have been patched, I’m not sure whether working with pre-release version would make much sense.

The Horizon: Zero Dawn preload is already running. Can’t promise anything, of course, but I’m reasonably optimistic that it will work. Death Stranding, which I have fully working now (Z3D + scalable HUD), uses the same engine, so unless there are other obstacles, it shouldn’t be too hard.

Either way a new vorpX release with the according DX12 changes will be out next week, hopefully including a Horizon: Zero Dawn profile. It’s more or less ready programming wise, just doing some testing and profiles the next few days.

I didn’t hear the by-the-way part of your post. :) Sounds tempting, but that’s not an option unfortunately.

    Far Cry New Dawn (G3D)

Like the Experimental G3D profile I did for Far Cry 5, this one too is still work-in-progress experimental with some lighting and terrain artifacts remaining. It’s not the prettiest, but it is functional for anyone wanting to try it.

I used a Viewmodel FOV Mod this time to make for a better FullVR view, I only wish it applied to driving vehicles as well.

Get the mod from nexus here, choose the FOV 90 one, and follow the installation instructions on the description page.

    – install the Viewmodel FOV 90 mod
    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440, 3072×1728 good for Reverb)
    – set FOV to max 120 in advanced video settings
    – set all graphics to Low, motion blur Off, but TAA and HD textures On
    – set reticle to Centered in gameplay settings

    *Adjustable HUD
    *Edgepeek for better vehicle driving
*Hide all shadows with G3D Shadow Treatment
*Tested on HP Reverb with mouse and keyboard

I finally picked up the retail version during the Ubisoft Spring sale going on now, and can confirm that it still works with vorpX. I’ve been enjoying the stunning visuals in crisp Z3D with my HP Reverb, and must say it gives RDR2’s landscapes a run for its money. Ubisoft are getting quite good at building world environments.

The game also just released it’s Ghost Experience immersive mode, getting rid of all the gear score crap and letting you define your preferences for difficulty and HUD display. Now it’s much more the experience I was hoping for and am now enjoying in vorpX. I’ve uploaded my new Reverb settings to the cloud profile for anyone interested.

    Ghost Recon Breakpoint (Z3D)

To hook vorpX, Battleye must be uninstalled and disabled. First set Uplay launch argument in Breakpoint properties:

    /belaunch -be

Then uninstall Battleye as described by PCGamingWiki:

    1. Navigate to <path-to-game>\BattlEye.
    2. Run Uninstall_BattlEye.bat.
    3. Open BELauncher.ini.
    4. Set SilentInstall to 0.
    5. Run the game and turn down any prompt to install BattleEye again.

Recommended Game Settings for this Profile:

As with Wildlands, aspect ratio affects FOV scale. I found that a near 1:1 square ratio gives the best result. 3000×2880 looks great in the Reverb. Create one of the following in your graphics driver panel and select it in game:

    – 3000×2880 quality
    – 2250×2160 balanced
    – 1500×1440 performance

    – use standard AA, but must disable Temporal Injection AA
    – set Extended FOV to 100 in game
    – set Camera Distance to Near/Close (my preference, but Far works also)

*HUD is scalable, but affects scopes and menus
*Use EdgePeek for menus and cutscenes
*Experimental G3D included, but still glitchy and very performance heavy
*Tested on HP Reverb, for Offline solo play only

Yes there is WIP G3D included, but not recommended at this point. Also, if you’d prefer to play in widescreen cinema mode, you’ll need to figure your own resolution, FOV, and image zoom values — as this is geared specifically for an up close and in your face “fullVR” experience, as close to first-person as possible.

Experimental G3D profile for Far Cry New Dawn also coming soon. Enjoy.
