dellrifter22ParticipantNice!
dellrifter22ParticipantIt looks to be Unity engine.
Try profile copies of Ori, Firewatch, Life is Strange, Gone Home, etc…
dellrifter22ParticipantIn games that do not have anti-cheat services, I have never been banned using vorpX. Games I play online:
Battlefield/SW Battlefront series
Call of Duty series (except for the new Modern Warfare won’t hook)
Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm 1 (Rising Storm 2 won’t work)
War of Rights
Battlegrounds 3
Blackwake
America’s Army: Proving Grounds
Chivalry/Mordhau
Outlaws of the Old West
Verdun/Tannenberg
Golden-Eye Source
Medal of Honor 2010
Star Trek OnlineUnfortunately, if the game uses an anti-cheat service such as Easy Anti Cheat or BattlEye that block injection, then vorpX won’t even be able to hook into the game to begin with. So games like Rainbow 6 Siege (BattlEye) and most newer and mainstream games are not possible, as Anti-Cheat services have become demanded and common place. Scroll down on this page to see games with EAC for example.
This is sad of course, as there are lots of good looking games I would wish to play online and am missing out on, since I can no longer stand to play games on flat monitor anymore.
GTA online and RDR2 online are a grey area. I have never personally risked trying these yet, but I assume other people have and I have yet to hear any complaints. It is probably good practice however to assume that using vorpX for online gaming will always carry the risk of ban, so consider the possibility before each game you try.
dellrifter22ParticipantWhen I tried the free Warzone for testing with RDR2 profile, I was unable to hook the game. In fact the game refused to start with vorpX attempting to hook, and would close immediately. My guess is some sort of anti tampering blocking injection.
I do not have the retail game so I can’t speak as to whether it responds the the same, I can only assume it does. The chance of it working for 3D is not high though, as it is dx12 which vorpX doesn’t really support yet. Only one or two Z3D only profiles.
Z3D, short for Z-normal Z-buffer style imitation 3D, like seeing layers of depth, where as G3D is true geometric 3D, each eye rendering it’s own unique angle providing natural depth.
I don’t have the hard drive space right now to test again, but if anyone can at least successfully launch the game even in 2D with vorpX active, that would be the first step.
dellrifter22ParticipantI recall having this problem (black screen main menu) when the game first came out, before vorpX. See if you can reproduce this problem without vorpX, I’m not so sure it is vorpX at fault here.
I don’t recall exactly what I had to do back then, but it may have been something like pressing Alt+Enter to switch to windowed mode before the login connection screen, and then using Alt-Enter to restore fullscreen as “press any key to start”.
Maybe something fishy about resolution setting, I’m not sure. Might be safe to choose your monitors default, or the standard 16:9 aspect ratio which is most common in games.
dellrifter22ParticipantIt looks like QUBE 2 uses Unreal 4, where as QUBE 1 used Unreal 3.
Try copying an existing Unreal 4 game profile (Hellblade, Cronarium) and see if that works. It may still have some shadow glitches, but most Unreal 4 games should work 3D quite easily.
Let us know how it works. I’ve got this on my wishlist, QUBE 1 was neat in vorpX.
dellrifter22ParticipantRUSH: A Disney Pixar Adventure (G3D)

A shorter adventure, but perhaps the more interesting set-piece level design. Should preform smoother as well. Shadows have been disabled, and some rope physics objects do not render correct 3D, but all else looks good. Playing as small toys and rats can be a fun way to experience a different world scale. For best FullVR FOV and visuals comparability:
– use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440) or 3D may not work
– set Shadows to Low in Advanced Video Settings
– also turn off motion blur*Adjustable HUD
*Use vorpX EdgePeek for menus and driving scenes for better comfort
*Tested on HP Reverb with mouse and keyboard
dellrifter22ParticipantI’m glad you are enjoying it. It took a while to figure out the snow terrain, but it finally worked out nicely. I only wish there was a free look mode or some mod that gave us headtracking control with the gopro cam, would make the first-person view so much better.
As for MGSV, I’m afraid it still is not possible for vorpX to hook this game. I spent a couple hours trying different things today, as I have tried many times over the past few years, but no luck. There is some trickery with how it launches that vorpX does not like, and Ralf has been aware of this already.
It’s seem vorpX gets confused and tries to hook two simultaneous instances but fails both. I don’t know if there is some simple way to prevent this, but I assume Ralf has tried. I’ve read that Reshade coders had trouble hooking this game in the early days,(something about the game mixing both dxgi 1.0 and 1.1), but they soon figured it out.
But I’ve tried everything I can think of, so we would have to wait and see when Ralf is willing to check it out once more.
dellrifter22ParticipantOh that Project Lambda looks neat. I’ll give it a try tonight after work. Thanks.
dellrifter22ParticipantIf by chance Sea of Thieves is structured the same as other Unreal 4 games, you could try adding the below for an FOV increase:
Open (or create if does not exist) Engine.ini found in C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\(Sea of Thieves)\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Add at the bottom and save:
[/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
dellrifter22ParticipantMake sure you’re not using some reshade or ENB that would conflict with vorpX injection.
And if you’re still around, feel free to try the new STEEP (G3D) profile if you’d like, though it was only tested with mouse and keyboard and my not have solved your controller issue. Read about it here.
dellrifter22ParticipantBioshock Infinite runs on the older Unreal 3, Sea of Thieves looks to run on Unreal 4.
Try a few other profiles based on Unreal 4, like Hellblade or Conarium.
Check RJK’s handy engine list here for a more complete list.
I’m glad to hear you can at least hook the game with vorpX. I’ve added it now to my wish list. Let us know if you find a working 3D. Thanks, and keep up the great work with your channel – my go to for vr tech.
dellrifter22ParticipantI was actually playing this again last night, it appears the bypass has been updated, for now at least.
Finally on my way to El Sueno. Maybe I’ll get to finish the game now.
I’ve returned to playing in Z3D by the way, and in the Reverb with the resolution cranked up and the settings maxed out, I had forgotten how good the scenery in this game can look. The G3D option is neat to try out, but I still recommend Z3D for this game.
I have new profile settings for the Reverb I could upload if anyone mentions interest.
dellrifter22ParticipantNice! Thanks man.
May 26, 2020 at 7:23am in reply to: Potentially interested in buying Vorpx to play Pathologic 2, can anyone test? #194911
dellrifter22ParticipantIt does look like a curious game, I’ve now added to my wishlist awaiting a sale.
From what I read, it’s running on Unity 5 and has a built in FOV slider that maxes to 100 vertical (which should be plenty), both promising factors regarding use with vorpX.
However, it sounds like it is poorly optimized and struggles to run on current hardware, so trying to push stereoscopic rendering will be a challenge.
I would expect frame rates below the preferred 45, mismatching dynamic shadows (or turned off entirely), and possibly using the cinema screen mode instead of FullVR, depending on how much time will be spent in the inventory menus or how well the HUD can be scaled down. Most likely a seated experience with mouse and keyboard.
Not to say that would make a terrible experience (I play and enjoy many games this way, though I have a seasoned iron gut by now), but I wouldn’t expect it to be flawless or like actual VR.
If that still sounds like something you would try, maybe I can bump it up on my sale priority list and have a go at it.
