dellrifter22ParticipantFirst off, see if you can get any other game to hook so we can rule out anti virus blocking it. Good idea to turn off any recording or monitoring apps like fraps or afterburner etc.
I’ve read that directx 12 is possible in this game, so make sure you’re not running 12 by accident. vorpX hooks to dx11.
The profiles you tried should have at least hooked (even if not 3d) if your vorpX is working correctly, so it’s likely not a profile issue.
There are still a few more official Unreal 4 profiles you can try though: Conarium, Conan Exiles, Vampyr, Edith Finch, and Abzu.
dellrifter22ParticipantIf you’ll give me til tomorrow, I’ll adjust for Pimax8k for this too. I’ve been wanting to see this in the 8k lately anyway.
dellrifter22ParticipantThis profile is pre Pimax8k, so I’d recommend switching to cinema ambient mode, zooming the screen all the way to -1.00 with curve at full 3.00.
I’ve found this setup running with a 16:9 resolution fits nicely on Pimax Normal FOV in most games (providing a game’s fov can reach high enough to suit).
96 in the FOV Changer should still look fine here, though you may want to raise the 3D strength a few clicks.
If you have any trouble, I can upload a Pimax version tomorrow. I plan to update most of my profiles soon anyway.

dellrifter22ParticipantI don’t think Doom 3 has vorpX support. That’s not to say you can’t try the two older profiles I see listed on the cloud.
rtoast was referencing a vr mod for Doom 3 BFG that dosn’t use vorpX.
dellrifter22ParticipantYikes, this looks creepy!
Very Positive reviews and 90% off. Awesome deal. Cheers.

dellrifter22ParticipantGood suggestions guys, thanks.
This might not meet your fullVR qualifier, but Blackwake is one I grabbed for $6 that looks great in 3D. I posted about it here. I do recommend the fore mentioned War of Rights, if you have a strong PC that is. Both good ones you can play online with others.
Also, for anyone looking for some way to celebrate Independence day in vorpX this week, check out Battle Grounds III. The Revolutionary War FPS mod from Half-Life 2 returns new and improved to steam this week, and is standalone free to play. The game show’s it’s age a bit, but is good for a couple hours of fun with people returning from years ago.
Anyway, I’m sure there’s more good ones to find with a week to go. Keep them coming.
dellrifter22ParticipantI picked this game up as well. I imagine this looks cool in geometry. Thanks for the profile.
dellrifter22ParticipantSounds neat! thanks for sharing.
dellrifter22ParticipantHmm, I don’t know what to tell you other than make sure your vorpX is at current 19.2.1 (most important) and that in game dynamic resolution is OFF and resolution scaling is at 1. These two settings seem to be the only ones that can break Z3D for me.
Also try the usual tricks of changing resolution, alt tabbing out and back in, and switching between fullscreen and windowed.
I’m playing fullscreen with native res of 2560×1440 with TAA, but doens’t seem to matter if I change any of these. SteamVR rtx2080ti.
If you havn’t already, might be worth assigning a fresh copy of FC Primal profile, in case your FC5 one is somehow corrupt. Maybe resetting FC5 game settings to default also.
dellrifter22ParticipantIf by chance the game has a dx12 mode, make sure to switch to dx11. Vorpx won’t hook 12. Sorry if this doesn’t apply.
dellrifter22ParticipantI don’t have time to test it right now, but one thing you could try is running vorpX in SteamVR mode. Yes Rift can use SteamVR also if you have it installed.
May not work, but has helped me past intro vid crashes in older games once or twice.
dellrifter22ParticipantHi apollon, Ralf mentioned recently that he is working on a way to unlock default profile exe’s, it’s just not quite ready yet. He wants to make sure the default profiles can be easily and safely restored should we mess something up.
In the meantime, one thing you could try is using the vorpX desktop viewer to play in SBS. It has basically the same options as the Tomb Raider profile, you’ll just need to adjust the settings a bit to suit your needs.
To get desktop viewer to work for me, I right click on the vorpX icon of system tray (by the clock) and click start viewer (works best if you only have one monitor setup). Once the viewer is displayed in my headset, I then Pause Watcher in vorpX tray so it will not attempt to hook DXMD.exe. Then proceed to launch Deus Ex as normal.
Once in game you can pull the vorpX delete menu and set set Stereo Type to Side by Side on the Image settings page. Now all you’ll need to do is adjust the size of the cinema screen to your liking.
Hope this helps for now.
dellrifter22ParticipantI picked this up on sale this week and can confirm the Call of the Wild profile did the trick for G3D. I’ve uploaded a custom profile fixing a few additional shadows and adjusting for the games smaller FOV than Call of the Wild.
You can read more about it here and download from the cloud if you wish.
Pretty neat experience so far, glad I picked this up.
dellrifter22ParticipantI used the same Primal based profile I put on the cloud when the game first came out. Brief test showed Z3D again (still requires EAC workaround of course).
dellrifter22ParticipantHuh, somehow I missed those release notes. Just ran a test with the old FC5 profile and Z3D seems to be working again. Thanks for the fix.
By the way, any hints on whether picking up New Dawn during the summer sale might be worth while? Or any other new games for that matter? ;)
Quick question: Any reason why an opengl profile won’t seem to save the main-eye setting?
Everytime I restart the game that setting defaults to OFF. I’ve not encountered this before. Profile is based off Return to Castle Wolfenstein if that matters.
