It seems that publisher 2K Games frowns upon the VR modding community, and that for the time being we will not be able to play their titles with vorpX, unfortunately.

Hmm, it still seems to work for me. Well, I uploaded another profile you can try, the one marked (G3D). It has a few of the G3D fixes from Wildlands now. It’s not perfect, but playable. Z3D is also working with my setup.

There are a lot of settings in Breakpoint to experiment with, but from what I can tell, Z3D should work as long as you have Temporal Injection turned off (you can still keep AA on though), and you leave the Resolution Scaling at default 100. These two settings can break the depth for me if changed.

Some games are picky about being fullscreen or windowed for Z3D to work, but it is working for me either way here.

Anyhow, see how this profile goes. I used 1920×1440 for G3D with Extended FOV set to 64 in game, but use what you like.

I have noticed recently that the forum search seems to have vanished or moved, or at least for me in my browser. Ralf, any input on this?

You can pause the vorpX watcher (that watches for any exe that is launched) by right clicking on the system tray vorpX logo. I think you are always supposed to pause this whenever you use the desktop viewer.

It seems to work best if you open the game first and then launch the desktop viewer after. It just displays whatever is currently on your monitor.

For me this would be a risky purchase. Unless I was super keen on this game I would wait for a discount sale to try it. Although you can use the steam refund program, if you can get your testing done before the 2 hour playtime mark.

I knew nothing of this game, but here is what I learned by briefly searching key words among the steam discussions.

    -Unreal Engine 4 game (good)
    -dx12 (bad)
-no mention of FOV increase options (bad)
-cockpit camera video looks like it may have very limited movement, locked to the horizon (bad)

dx12 is the major obstacle here, as we only have a handful of profiles to test with currently. I’ll just say that out of 4 unofficial dx12 games in my library, only 1 has worked with Z3D. And yes, dx12 is Z3D only at this point.

Here are the profiles I would try:

    Grounded
    CyberPunk 2077
    Rdr2
    Resident Evil Village
    Horizon Zero Dawn
    Death Stranding
    Deathloop
    Dying Light 2

And remember that the true exe for UE4 games are hidden inside the Binaries/Win64 folder and always end with the words “shipping.exe”

Yes there are profiles for a few Cryengine games, like the Crysis games and Prey. I play War of Rights with this profile.

But you should know that online games that force an anti cheat service (BattlEye, Easy Anti Cheat) will block vorpX, so 3D injection is not possible. I too wish we could play Hunt Showdown. It seems awesome.

One less ideal option is to use the vorpX desktop viewer to play Showdown in your headset. It will not be in 3D, but it may enable mouse based head tracking, and you can size the screen to take up the full field of view of your headset.

It still worked in my testing last night. Make sure you are using the cloud profile labeled 2021.

There are 2 profiles on the vorpX cloud labeled “eurotruck2.exe”. You could try one of those.

To do this, open the vorpX configuration as shown in this video, and open the Cloud Profiles page. If you have created a cloud account you will be able to search for profiles in the top input box. Type “euro” and you will see the profiles listed below. Select eurotrucks2.exe profile and then click the button on the right labeled “Import profile”. Now this profile will be added to your Local Profiles list and vorpX should automatically attach to Eurotruck Simulator 2 when you launch the game.

If the mod uses a different exe that has a name different from eurotruck2.exe, then you will need to add the new exe name to the profile. But I doubt this is the case here.

I tried the game briefly with a unity 5 based profile and both G3D and Z3D seem to be working fine.

I’ve added a Fishing Planet (G3D) profile to the cloud with HUD and shadow shaders assigned to the vorpX menu options. If the offset shadows bother you, the vorpX menu can turn them off.

Immersive screen is default recommended due to the game’s limited FOV, and the mouse rotation lag may not translate comfortably for fullVR mode headtracking. But you can try it if you want.

Don’t expect it to feel like native VR, but it is still immersive with the 3D big screen.

@Frosty My mistake, I later realized it was Sign of Silence that I had played instead.

Maybe on a sale I’ll give In Silence a try, it seems cool.

I’m jealous… I wish I could get away with playing like this, but every time I have tried it hurts my brain and strains my eyes. Seeing the weapon in hand have no depth separation from the world beyond, so near my face, is too uncomfortable.

I have actually thought about patching one eye shut for a game session and see how that goes, but I always rationalize myself out of it.

My mistake. I must have remapped my own keybind to C.

I think the default toggle is the Home key, near Scroll-Lock and Delete keys.

I have my suspicion that it is not 3D. At least the game tutorial I tried did not have working 3D. I’d love to be proven wrong though, and I’ll pick up the campaign version.

I’ve tried Folklore Hunter and In Silence with okayish results. I’ll think about uploading the profiles this month if I can clean them up a bit.

Unfortunately Showdown and Siege have anticheat, so they won’t hook.
