KarlorParticipantI haven’t updated to 9.1 just yet but I will try it out. I did get G3D by changing the exe to bioshock infininte but there’s no lean but its 3D.. got it adjusted pretty good, the games great. Now I have to make a fallout 4 keyboard/mousr controller layout lol
KarlorParticipantMaybe your rift is stuck into direct mode, mine was and this what I did. I had Oculus 5.1 and had my rift set to extended and rift set as primary so it would work with vorpx 8.1… when I updated to Oculus 8 and vorpx it updated fine but stayed “stuck” in the old direct mode. It would turn on and do everything but actualy display on the rift… so I reinstalled oculus 5 and swithced my rift to direct and all that THEN update back to oculus 8 and bam my rift pulled its head out and works now… maybe worth a go? Hope u get it solved.
KarlorParticipantI’m starting to think I would like to go back to 8.1 vorpx also.. .9 works for me and some games work really good and super clear. The main thing is there just doesn’t seem to be as much adjustment as in previous versions. Some settings don’t seem to do much of anything when before they did, and there was more of them. Also the visuals are clear, something just feel off with .9, even after dialing it in settings wise. I know most of it is on Oculus side and more updates to vorpx will only get better. But having an option to go back to .8.1 vorpx would really be good. Before I could dial in any game I set out to now I got only 2-3 actaully set up really good. All in all vorpx .9 is good and works with Oculus updates but 8.1 was better in almost every way, at least from just a user standpoint. I like it but the old version was indeed “better” in my opinion. Looking forward to further updates :)
KarlorParticipantI tried all sorts of things too and its still there. Something with how GTAV works with the 360 pad + mouse/keyboard makes it do those 2 weird things no matter what. I even tried a non 360 controller mapped to direct input and somehow gta still saw a 360 pad and made it act odd in game. I switch to fist in the car so when I back up he breaks out the window to flip the bird lol he just get real pissed when backing up I guess ;)
KarlorParticipantShould be a few ways in the GTAV thread. The recording is just something I turned off by turning it to the lowest mem setting then letting it fill up. The reverse gun pull is what it is too it doesn’t effect game play much, its odd for sure but also funny lol
KarlorParticipantIf your running into slow down try using some of the memory patches for better performance. It helps out anyway but with VR the better performance helps a lot. Same with skyrim.
KarlorParticipantI used that way back when it first launched but with vorpX it was wasy better. You could read everything and edge peek is great. I used to just rename its exe to like DXHCD and then it would hook and I could adjust it more. Now it hooks but with no 3D options, and the rename trick just makes it crash.
KarlorParticipantI tried it day one of the update and it seemed to run good. Went back to fine tune and ran into some issues. It would CTD at start everytime. So I went into settings in game and turned everything down and made sure the screen re was right. I finally got it hooking again. I’m not sure its hooking into 3D. It looks like zbuffer 3d but it says not rendering in 3D. I can’t turn on 3D either.. the old name exe switch trick I used doesn’t work now. So a G3D profile for dying light would be good as it worked before update.
Still trying to tune it in, I will post anything I come up with. Having some texture issues too so maybe a fresh dying light install is needed…
KarlorParticipantYeah I’m pretty sure that’s what I was getting at. There might be an actual mod but I don’t know.
KarlorParticipantI think what they mean is you have to launch quake with dx9, sort of like Bioshock 1 I think.. what you do is inside properties(right click, go to properties) then in the field and -DX9.. now I don’t recall what field and the exact thing you have to type in… but it should be something like that.. you should be able to find more info I’m just trying to point you in the right direction… Its easy once you figure out what field to change.. I just don’t remember right now.
KarlorParticipantAll this sounds pretty cool. So if I want to keep the same quality I have now in the rift, should I try the 1920 x 2160 setting? I want to keep the resolution as high as possible but save on the extra rendering if possible.
KarlorParticipantSure, there’s a trick you can do sometimes. If you know the game engine, you can rename the exe to an exe that has a vorpx profile. If your lucky you can find one that hooks(will need adjusting but getting it to hook is the most important). Sometimes steam can get pissy about it, so just tinker a bit and you mite get one that works good with Kholat. So find a game that uses U4 and change kholats exe to the working U4 games exe and see if you can “fool” vorpx into hooking up. If you find one that hooks let us know :)
KarlorParticipantI want to try this game out too. When I looked into setting it up IF couldn’t find away to crank up the fov to 120ish. Getting it to hook is probably just a matter or re setting its exe to another supported U4 game. Have you found a way to open up the fov? I think in game only goes to like low 90s.
KarlorParticipantI think I found his main problem right here:
“Windows 10 user.”So yeah sounds like Windows 10 basically sucks. Ouch. Switch to Windows 7 and live happy.
KarlorParticipantI tired booting Blood Dragon but I need to reinstall it I think it wont boot even witout vorpX.. Anyway if I come up with anything I’ll let you know, settings should basically be the same between the two I think. I’ll mess around with it later on tonight.
