So the next question is – how do I open the VorpX menu?
My problem is that I can’t use the keyboard in my standing/room-scale space.
I wonder if some things can be done with Voice Attack. Or maybe completely remapping the right touchpad because I want to block this way of rotation.
I did manage to run DirectVR once and I had a problem where during a dialogue my view slowly shifted down to the ground and stayed like this for the whole time I was speaking to the NPC.

Hmm, I guess it is something related to my setup. Thanks.

Install Safety Load and disable the option.
This is what is working for me.
I don’t use the SKSE memory patch, but I do use ENB Boost.

Speaking of this, can I trigger the DirectVR scan and the pov re centering via the controllers?

I read your reply in my email and forgot to come here and say thanks.

So, thanks for the idea, it works :-)

Funny enough it keeps working without using the controller after I have used it once (even if the game crashes) until the PC restart.

Hmmm, I had exactly the same issues because of a mod so it sounded familiar.

Unfortunately I have only 3 suggestions to try and fix it and they are more or less general.

    1. Check that the Steam overlay is off.
    2. Exit all programs that are running – maybe some of them is interfering. Especially antivirus.
    3. Verify the integrity in the game via Steam and/or reinstall VorpX.

If you have FO4 try to see if it will work with it.

I’m not sure about the DivX problem. I would install DivX9 and see what happens.

If you use any first person mods try running the scan in 3rd person. However I’m not aware of any first person mod that plays nicely with DirectVR at the moment.
If you do not use any of them try disabling mods that might affect how the camera works or the player character itself.

I have a somewhat similar question but Vive related. About reprojections. Which option is the best to use with VorpX? The consensus seems to be that for seated games Always on is the best option. But as I understand it VorpX has something similar built-in. So out of the 3 options in SteamVR – Asynchronous, Interleaved, Always on or neither of them?

The same way you use it without VorpX.
Just start VorpX before starting SKSE in MO.
(I realize this last sentence can be confusing so to be more precise – start VorpX as usual, do not add it to MO.)

It is been confirmed that it works for both Rift and Vive.

    Added:
About the ini’s, this is what I did. Created a profile in MO for VR and after running the game optimization in the VorpX config app I copy/pasted both ini files from MyGames/Skyrim to the ini editor of MO.

I took me some time to get my VR legs but VorpX actually helped a lot.

If you rotate your mouse wheel while in the game it will zoom in or out. Play for some time in a comfortably zoomed out position and slowly zoom in more and more as you feel comfortable.

The resolution that VorpX sets is too low – 1280×1024. The resolution I ended up using is 1920×1440. You will need to set it up in the control panel of your GPU. For Skyrim (Oldrim) you don’t need to do that – when you start the game press Del to open the control panel and find the option Internal resolution upscale and set it to 2.
I have also set Skyrim to run in a windowed mode so Windows won’t change my desktop resolution every time I play.

If you experience problems with the head rotation tracking be sure you have run DirectVR. Also be sure the game runs at 45 fps or close to that. Try some of the Adaptive 3D modes (instead of Geometry) to see if it feels more fluid.

The HUD is a HUD is a HUD. I for one am quite happy it doesn’t rotate together with the in-game world. It is actually way better to play without it. At least for Skyrim – I have completely disabled it and it helps with the immersion/presence a lot.
Pressing the middle mouse button while in the game will zoom-out and show it like on a screen. Then pressing it again will put you back in the game. It is an easy and fast way to deal with the HUD when you can’t see it clearly in full VR mode.

People have an idealized image about the mod support in the Beth games, but that was not the point I was making. The point is that I will keep playing Oldrim in VR for at least several more years and the official VR port will be unable to change that for many reasons.

    Thank you.
Also vorpx does hook into skse.exe which is good because otherwise enderal says skyui doesn’t work properly.
Quite frankly I’m amazed no one else seems to have these issues!? Skyui requires skse.exe!

VorpX doesn’t need to hook into skse_launcer.exe
You don’t need to change the Skyrim profile. It works out of the box with SKSE.

    Added:
Enderal comes bundled with SKSE and SkyUI. You don’t need to install them.

I expect to keep playing both games with VorpX even after the official ports are released. Mostly because of mods.

    What we know now:
    1. There is no mentioning of mods support in the PR Begtehsda is doing for the games whatsoever. This is very unusual for them.
    2. The VR ports are new games and not editions of the old games. Bethesda doesn’t allow porting assets between games so no mod can be ported from the flat game into the VR port.
    3. There is no mentioning of Creation Kit for those ports been released. And it is not possible to predict if/when community created modding tools will be developed.
    4. Additionally – there is no official info about SkyrimVR been exclusive -temporary or not, to PSVR. There are several articles about it that quote “a Sony rep”. Bethesda has never done game exclusivity and it will be very unfortunate if they start now. I hope SkyrimVR will launch on PC in November together with the PSVR version. If not – I’m still not sure how to react to that.

So I’ll probably buy the official ports out of pure curiosity but I plan on continuing playing Oldrim and FO4 in VR with VorpX.

Actually I am seen another fix. Or I’m going crazy…
SkyUI now fits perfectly in the view in VR mode in Oldrim (the classic Skyrim) and I played about 5 hours without switching to Peak Mode even once :-)
