Additional Hints WIN7/64, may also help on WIN8/10

Sacred 3 is known to crash a lot randomly or having FPS problems. This gave me a headache too, but i think i got some useful hints on that. The below seemes to help. When disabling DLCs you wont be able to play them but at least you can play the main game.

    – Game crashing randomly
—- DISABLE DLC’s (You may try to disable one after another)
    – LOW FPS or inacceptable FPS
—- DO NOT USE Compatibility Mode on sacred3.exe (XP ect)

Make backups of keen_savegame_0_0.sav , just in case.

PS: Absolutely great Hack n Slay game, big noise, huge explosions, excellent graphics ;-)

There is not much more help i can give you unfortunately. Its all been said. Only change the d3d9 reference in any file you find, nothing else. It may work or may not.

It doesnt matter if you search for text or hex values.I use text, thats easier. Look through the other files (not only dll) as well. Like said, you may need to look for d.3.d.9.d.l.l or even d 3 d 9 . d l l – In this case you watch out that you dont overwrite the original values. Mainly you need to replace the first “d” of that string with a “v” and thats it.

    Paraworld – Alternate Profile (DGVoodoo2 2.6) – G3D

This alternate profile looks way better then the DX9 one.

    – DGVoodoo2 v2.6 required
    – Hexedit PWclient.exe
    – Replace d3d9.dll with v3d9.dll
    – Rename (DGVoodoo2) d3d9.dll to v3d9.dll
    – Start game through launcher or or Paraworld.exe
    – Profile available at the cloud

It appears that v3d9.dll can be left in the game folder, also dgvoodoo.conf. The above counts for games only where the game does not look for the dll in the game folder, example: Spellforce 1.

If you run the game with the unchanged files and do dont see the DGVoodoo Logo, the game isnt DX9. Test which DX version the game requires first. When you are shure its DX9 then change the games exe with a hexeditor like you tried.

Some games point to other files in the game folder, make a content search for d3d9.dll in the game folder and change other files as well. If you dont find d3d9.dll, manually look for d.3.d.9.d.l.l or similar. (This may take time) Note: Some games dont even work after changing them.

If you cant play game in FULL VR mode because the scene “sticks to your face” there is no other was as playing it in cinema mode. Opentrack will not help here.

Please also note that only a limited numner of games can be played in 3D with DgVooodoo. All you can do now is try differnt DGVoodoo profiles to see if one delivers 3D for your game.
