    “Interesting” issue in ME3…

Both other games you mentioned are unsupported ATM, which should have been shown on startup. They might or might not work at all, or do all kinds of weird stuff. With these two you are completely on your own at this point in time.

The closer the ratio is to 1:1 the easier it is to correct the AR, Especially the ‘Smart’ option works better this way.

‘Smart’ tries do give you a correct AR in the center of the image, where you look at most of the time, at the expense of some top/bottom-distortion. That works reasonable well in 16:10, but a lot better with 5:4 modes.

Short Disclaimer: Judging from feedback during the closed beta not everyone will be able to get a 5:4 mode stretched to fullscreen on his Rift, you might be out of luck. If those modes look completely wrong on your Rift, stick to 16:10. But if it works, you should do it. Your best bet is to let the graphics card do the scaling. At least all newer nVidia can do this (search the nV Control Panel for this option).

The website will be update with a current list in the next few days.

vorpX tries to apply itself to every DX9/DX10/DX11 game you start, regardless whether there is a profile for it or not, in which case an “Unsupported”-message is shown on startup.

If a game doesn’t load vorpX at all, it might either be no DX9-DX11 title or fail for various other reasons. Try several times if nothing happens. That can help sometimes.

You can also create special shortcuts, which might work better with some games than the automatic mode: right click on vorpX’s tray icon and select ‘Create Desktop Shortcut’. Then browse to the program you want to create the shortcut for and select it.

That’s a restriction of Bethesda games: they disable mouse input when a gamepad is used.

vorpX can work around this though: set “Handle Gamepads Internally” to On to activate an internal gamepad to mouse/keyboard mapper (which should have been the default value). Then exit and restart Fallout 3. Afterwards you should be able play Fallout 3 with a gamepad and head tracking.

The gamepad mapper can be freely configured in vorpX’s gamepad menu.

    Hi ibmarik,

try another Aspect Ratio Correction Mode. The default setting ‘Smart’ (on purpose) applies some vertical distortion to the image. That may be what you describe as fisheye effect.

I’ll look into it. This can take some though. X3 was only tested with the demo so far.

    Hi Fugazi,

please also check the Eye Separation setting. You should not set it too high, since this makes the world look small.

The default value of 1.0 should give you a good sense of scale, but you may want to try a even lower value.

It has to be a X-Box 360 or compatible gamepad. Not sure whether the Hydra counts as such, but it doesn’t look that way, judging from your experience.

I’m actually a bit unsure myself, but I think per default it is the right thumbstick. Can be freely configured in the in-game menu btw.

If this happens constantly try to disable the Steam Overlay. Shouldn’t be an issue, but is worth a try.

Also: Do other Steam games work, or are only these two failing?

velma, send a mail to support |at| vorpx com describing this and include the request code from your home PC, you will then get an activation pretty quickly.

Official confirmation that this a false positive. most likely caused by the licensing system.

Unfortunately Aviras whitelisting procedure is even more frustrating than our initial authorization procedure. ;) We have to submit each and every new version and then wait a few days, which is not always possible. Most other AV-companies handle this better.
