Thanks Ralf! 😃 got it without a problem.
zahncistenParticipantYou might want to try these steps:
https://www.howtogeek.com/118869/how-to-easily-install-previous-versions-of-the-.net-framework-in-windows-8/
The instructions work fine, just apply to 4.7.
I understand the definitive words of Microsoft, but Steam installs old versions of dotnet all the time.zahncistenParticipantHave you tried the 4.6.2 installer? Some dotnet applications require specific versions.
zahncistenParticipantI am stoked! 😁 That will be great. Best Christmas present this year! 🎁 Lol.
zahncistenParticipantGreat! Thanks Ralf, I’m really looking forward to the next update (I hope with Frostbyte support!!!)
@r0gue_tech Yeah, I use VorpX every day, and I use it with WMR and SteamVR. It works perfectly for me =D I hope it works that way for you, too, soon.zahncistenParticipantThat’s because it isn’t there anymore. There is an official profile and one with custom settings for the official profile 😃
zahncistenParticipantK, so, normally when you first start VorpX, a window does not show up, but a system tray icon does, like you’re describing. You can then right click the tray icon, and press “configure VorpX”. If you are doing that and it isn’t starting I would first close it and then try starting VorpX in administrator mode (just as a test) by right clicking and pressing “Run as Administrator”.
Concerning Oculus, I’ve heard some some folks having problems and needing to use Oculus in SteamVR mode (via VorpX Config in General Settings, which you could get to if you can get it to run! 😆).
It sounds like VorpX is actually running, so I’m going to guess that the first solution (right clicking the system tray icon, or trying to run vorpx as administrator as a test) may help, and the second suggestion (about SteamVR) may be a fix for your problem.zahncistenParticipantI use WMR and SteamVR to use VorpX. I don’t have an O+ though (lucky you!). If I were experiencing this problem I’d uninstall SteamVR and reinstall it. If you haven’t used SteamVR to play VR in the past, maybe you don’t have “Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR” installed? Its on steam. I’m guessing you do, but there is always a chance. Also, in the SteamVR settings (I’m guessing you know how to get there, I’ll put a video below) you can adjust super sampling, which may or may not be a problem. Also, I’m guessing you don’t have crazy, super high settings and mods installed for whatever game you are trying? Sorry if some of my questions or suggestions are totally wack, just stabbing in the dark.
Don’t watch video until you read above^^ 😃
zahncistenParticipantHave you installed and started the game without VorpX first? Or did you just download it and immediately try it in VorpX?
If you’ve played the game outside of VorpX previously, you could try running VorpX in administrator mode, as a test (the toggle is in “General” settings).Dec 6, 2018 at 3:10am in reply to: will vorpx be compatible with htc vive pro out of the box ? #177371zahncistenParticipantI wish I could tell you RJK_, but I don’t know anything about the Vive Pro. I did find an article on Vive’s website which says that when you adjust the IPD by the knob, a readout is supposed to appear on HMD:
https://www.vive.com/us/support/vive-pro-hmd/category_howto/adjusting-the-ipd-on-the-headset.html
If you aren’t seeing that, maybe it doesn’t display when you are in VorpX? Have you tried it otherwise? (sorry, I don’t have a Vive, so I don’t know)zahncistenParticipantSounds great, Ralf. VorpX shows your ability and knowledge. If it didn’t work right, it wouldn’t be as great as it is. 👌

zahncistenParticipantAll things aside, as you yourself say, it may be the HMD. Thus, it sounds like you may need to try the hardware and then you can have a better position to make an assessment.
zahncistenParticipantDragon Age Origins has perfect depth (orzammar is incredible for understanding the perception. It looks awesome). I play all games in Cinema mode due to a balance condition (I’m dizzy all the time, so I need stationary things to keep steady, and cinema is perfect for that). I just finished Alien Isolation, that was incredible, and the depth was great. I’ve tooled around with Metro 2033 (not Redux) and the depth is spot-on. Skyrim is always a solid. Oh, and Mass Effect 3 (I haven’t played 1 or 2 with VorpX). The G3D is stunning. I’ve used VorpX for a few months now, and I love it. I use it every day (I’m not kidding), it really is great. If you think you are seeing things flat and you think it may be your HMD, definitely try newer hardware. I’d do that before I started thinking VorpX needed to be way different for my peculiar use-case.
zahncistenParticipantI realize that this is a technical discussion, but it seems to revolves around what appears to be preference on the part of those who want greater strength. Maybe my HMD is different, but after I get above 3.0 on strength, the visual representation is impossible. I trust Ralf implicity on VorpX, and I think you, Ralf, make excellent decisions regarding VorpX. Carry on!
