Just reinstalled VorpX after 2 years and this time I’m determined to get it working good with my Pimax 5K Super.

    1) When playing Battlefield 3, the mouse cursor remains in the middle of the screen and will not disappear

    2) In BF3, when I move my head, it’s not just the view/head that moves, but also the gun/aiming as well. I don’t even have to use my mouse to aim my gun, I can just move my head to aim my gun anywhere I want.

    3) There are graphical glitches with the right-eye only such as double-images at times, almost like ghosting or something or like a faint ghosted texture going through the gun or something like that. It happens a lot while there’s smoke and mist around. It does not happen with the left eye though.

I’m using the Pimax 5K Super w/ 9-axis tracking (ie. no lighthouses / basestations) and keyboard and mouse.

I’m using the default BF3 profile and tried to make some changes but nothing helped.

Playing Cyberpunk, and I no sooner got everything working properly than VorpX suddenly starts getting jittery, and then the headset freezes. The game keeps running fine. The fps are even fine when it happens.

This happens seemingly anywhere, but is a bit more prevalent in the megabuilding where V lives. (Particularly the lift, and walking across the floor where the gun store and boxing rink are.) But again, it eventually happens everywhere. It’s even happened on the settings screen.

It happens in all 3 modes: Full VR, Cinema, and Immersive. It happens with 3d on, 3d off, edge peek, everything. I’m pretty sure I have everything at default, and I even turned off Clarity FX.
I’ve tried lowering the game settings, the resolution, and Virtual Desktop settings. I’ve tried everything I can think of. Nothing seems to have any effect one way or the other.
I’ve restarted the headset and my computer several times.

Again, this seemingly came out of nowhere. It was working fine one minute, and now I can’t get it to run for a minute without VorpX freezing. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I want to give thanks for the ingunity of Edgepeek feature.

Specifically, I was having some issue with reading dialog text in-game. I attempted to use the VorpX config to assign a single key, I could map to controller,so to quickly disable 3D. While it worked, it just felt wrong to suddenly get rid of the depth instantly, a bit nausea too. I wanted (needed?) Transition. It occurred to me, just the way the screen moves, it like flattens it out with EdgePeek, and that realism aspect is somehow less disorienting. I was going to make a feature request for being able to turn off 3D with EdgePeek, but sure enough, its already available. Just set EdgePeek 3D Strength to 0.

First of all, I love VorpX for what it can do (actually my first purchase after getting my VR Headset). But for the best of it, I cannot play in FullVR mode because I am unable to aim with my head. I can live with a lot of compromises but that’s somehow not working. Then you came up with the incredible idea of having gestures, especially the gun gestures. But still head aiming, now my neck hurts :D

So, I started tinkering with compromises. It is basically a combination of VorpX Desktop Viewer, Reshade and FreePIE. The main idea is to use head aiming when running around (that I can live with), but when entering the gun pose, I detach the view from the head and attach it instead to the controller (That’s where reshade and FreePie come in). So, it is basically like holding a handheld and aiming with the gyro, just larger and better because you can still orientate with your head (despite some blackness around the screen) but aim with your hand. Current drawback: no more 3D.

I have two videos showing this from within the headset and from the full screen.

There might be slight distortions, but I hope you can grasp the idea. Maybe this could be integrated into VorpX directly with all its benefits.

It’s been a while since I used vorpx. No matter how much I change the settings in the 3D option, there is no depth, and the full VR mode only expands to 360 degrees, so it does nothing, but some games run in 3D, so I am satisfied. I want to watch something other than Full VR List games in Full VR, but is there any way?

    List
    1. super robot v~30
    2.sd gundam G CROSS RAYS

I’m curious if anyone knows how.

If anyone is interested, I uploaded a new Beta vorpX Starfield profile based on Resident Evil Village. It is configured for Cinema mode and called ‘Starfield-Cinema Mode #2’. The Z3D is quite strong and can be turned way up.

Only 4K resolution 3840×2160 works, lower resolutions have glitched textures. Custom resolutions above 2000p would probably work. First person gun view is also slightly glitched. No issue with third person view. Restart game if FPS drops. Hit ‘Delete’ key twice if gamepad stops working.

Set these game settings for best Z3D:
    -Set Particle Quality to ‘LOW’.
    -Set Motion Blur to ‘OFF’.
    -Set Film Grain from 0-12.
-Set Enable Depth of Field to ‘OFF’.
DLSS only works without glitches on max quality or max performance.

It’s not just cut scenes for me, it is on the sceen all the time during play in the top left corner, i have moved it mostly out of sight by using the VorpX HUD scaling option but doing so means that when i want to look at the mini radar or prompts that pop up in the bottom right corner of the screen etc i have to go into edgepeek mode to see them.

I recently have been using the mods Bandit Hideouts & Rampage Trainer, give myself infinite dead eye, slow mo while aiming, a couple of bodyguards and then charge into bandit hideouts in slow mo gunning them all down with my posse, really fun. This game is still the best experience one can have in VR imo once you get your settings right.

I stayed up most the night trying to figure this out.

No idea. I got it to work randomly with running the screen resolution at native 1080p and disabling the integrated gpu then enabling it, but now if I load the game, the perspective is overhead. I saved and exited the game and it was fine. I didn’t touch any settings and now I’m 40ft tall and clipping through geometry and the world is super small under me. The gun is absolutely massive too.

I tried messing with the geometry settings and something is way off. I reset everything and its the same problem.

Sometimes vorpx can find depth buffer in certain games but in some worse cases there is one but only gun/hands are present there, not whole scene.

Often vorpx can output G3D but full of errors, like not rendering some things in one eye or almost all things in one eye, but it can get access to 3d and shader authoring is working too.

My question is instead of trying to find the depth buffer game builds itself is it possible to build out out of game geometry vorpx kinda get access to. It will also solve issues when some profiles have G3D in some sense yet cant work in z3d.

I have almost no knowledge how games render and all that, thats mostly why I’m asking.

I am using Oculus Rift with RTX3060, latest public drivers.

In CP77 I am experiencing kind of glitch, that is visible on linked pictures.
In VR it is way more visible then on screenshots.

Foreground objects cast “parallax shadow” on background – maybe such glitch has some name, but I don’t know it so I’ll try to describe and show.

So in right eye, background parts that are NOT visible (obscured by nearby object) by left eye are corrupted.
And in left eye, background parts that are not visible by right eye ale also corrupted.

During a game glitch is dynamic, looks like flickering projection of foreground casted on background.
It happens in both “immerse picture” and “full VR”.
It happens all the time during a game.
Tried some configurations (different settings, resolution, details level) but without an effect.

Any idea what else I should try?

Screenshots are pictures from right eye.

Shotgun obscures left eye view, and in that area that is obscured for left eye, in right eye we see “shadow” of shotgun on the ground.

    https://pasteboard.co/ucppyNBpmuCu.png
Especially visible for three leftmost persons in the frame.
You can see “shadow” on their right side.

    https://pasteboard.co/rX7nglvbGnXJ.png
    Same as previous one

Very clearly visible as “shadow” of Panam’s face.

Weapon Model FOV setter plugin doesn’t work with the latest version of the game. They added FOV slider and it broke something. Both the .ini weapon FOV setting and the way plugin was doing it are ignored. Pretty much unplayable that way, as you almost can’t see the gun unless you’re aiming, and then the gun is humongous.

Thanks Ralf! I’m fine tuning the settings and it’s working great so far, with one caveat:

Aiming down the sights of any gun is like rolling the dice. I’m looking at the enemy, hit the aim down sights button, and my view all of a sudden jumps to the sky or straight into the floor. It’s quite jarring and makes gunplay practically impossible.

I’ve been testing to try and find a pattern but it seems totally random where the view goes. Could be a small jump but it’s often quite large. I’ve tried to “reset” my view with the right stick before hitting aim down the sights but it doesn’t seem to matter what I do. Still jumps erratically.

Anyone else experience this or have a solution?

P.S. Using PS5 controller – my index controllers don’t work at all, other than bringing up the vorpx menu, similar to a previous poster.

Hey I just started using Vorpex for Cyberpunk and it’s working surprisingly well so thank you for that.

I just wanted to know if anyone had a solution to aiming controls being reversed during vehicle combat? When I look to the left the gun goes to the right and vice versa. I checked the in-game controls for vehicle but could not find anything that would reverse it back. Same with the Vorpex menu unless I missed anything?

I didn’t find a way to edit my message but I just noticed that my controller don’t work with the Vorpex menus. It works fine with the game but not with Vorpex. For example I cannot activate edge peek using my controller only using my mouse. Could this be the reason my controls are acting weird during vehicle combat? Anyone know why my controller might not register with Vorpex? I’m using a PS5 controller wired to my PC btw.

Great video, I didn’t even know that Titanfall 2 had some kind of revival.

Can’t recommend this one enough. Great FullVR experience and just the right age to run well in VR without the need for an Uber-PC while still looking extremely good.

Aside from everything required to make the game run out of the box the profile also comes with two noteworthy advanced DirectVR features that weren’t mentioned specifically in the video:

    1. Automatic weapon hide to deal with the ‘face gun’ you often get when bringing first person games to VR: no running around with a weapon attached to your nose all the time. You might not even have known that you want something like that, but it makes a world of a difference when playing a game.
    2. Preconfigured motion controller gestures for aiming down sights etc. (requires the vorpX beta currently). I’m still surprised myself how close to native VR games like this can feel with just a few well chosen gestures, even seated.

Short auto weapon hide demo for those who never heard of it:
