    Hey Ralf! Sounds awesome!

Is it possible that we can get a gesture where you can hold down a button while swinging arms to move around like the NaLo (natural locomotion) steam app does it?
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/798810/Natural_Locomotion/

I played a few games with this and it very natural, it gets rid of the need to use thumbsticks to move. I don’t see a way to use this inside vorpx yet.

Thank you for the continued support and fantastic features!

    Hello everyone,

I’m trying to use custom resolutions that exceed my monitor’s 1080p to be able to fully enjoy the 2448×2448 resolution of my HTC VIVE Pro 2. However, whenever I set a resolution that is higher than 1080p, like 2560×1440, the game starts stuttering massively and becomes absolutely unplayable OR nothing changes (definition doesn’t increase nor FPS decrease).

I have even struggled setting aspect ratios that are not officially supported by the game, even if below 1080p.

I tried applying the custom resolution to my PC’s main monitor before appliying it in game, but the results are the exact same.

The interesting fact is that without vorpX they actually work just fine, it’s only when I launch the game in my headset that I get the massive stuttering (only inside the headset) or no effect at all.

    Games I tested:
    – Forza Horizon 4 / 5: Massive stutters all the time (head tracking extremely laggy, which happens in 1080p as well to a lesser extent)
    – Rocket League: Massive stutters when lots of things are moving on the screen
    – Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (same engine as Borderlands 3): nothing changes, can only change from 16:9 to 16:10 applying custom resolution to my monitor prior change in game

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Heon_X

Having seemingly the same problem of not being able to use VorpX Desktop Viewer. It loads into Windows (showing a black preview thumbnail) and opens inside the headset, but only shows full black on the left eye (though it did show the animated loading icon at some point) and a static frame of what appears to be the cinema environment with a black screen.

Using a Razer Blade 14 with RTX 3070 on Windows 11, no external monitors and using a Quest 2 with Link.

Any idea how this problem can be resolved?

Pimax 8K-X. Absolutely hands-down the best HMD I’ve ever had on, WHEN you can make use of the FOV and clarity. With a 4090 I usually can, but there are still plenty of titles I have to run at Normal FOV rather than wide (I don’t use Small – which is should be noted is STILL larger than most other HMDs out there.) The performance issues manifest anytime a dev hasn’t realized than some HMDs (even the Index) have canted displays. Eventually this will in-theory become the norm, since the entire “you are wearing horse-blinders” effect of most HMDs greatly reduces immersion in what is supposed to be an immersive experience.
The PIMAX ecosystem is a PITA however, so you’ve got to take that into consideration. So when you can make use of it, it’s simply flabbergasting, and when you can’t it’s annoying AF. I run AC at insane resolutions (160% Steam SS) and Wide FOV with a ton of lighting and weather mods and it’s almost brutally good – incredible fidelity, zero SDE, extremely wide FOV (but, as noted, with somewhat distorted edges. Those don’t bother me at all, whereas “nothing at all being there except the black inside of an HMD” bothers me a lot on other HMDs – everyone is different). Every time I curse the Pimax foibles I spend a few hours in the that and realize it’s all worth it, as nothing else can really come close (maybe a Varjo? I don’t know, never tried one of those.)

I just saw a Paradise Decay video about God Of War in vorpX, and he explained that he disabled head tracking (=mouse) in vorpX settings to get the DualSense controller to work.

I expected that the screen will be locked to his vision, but he still could move his head in front of the Immersive Screen.

That tells me (contrary to my beliefs) that mouse-based headtracking is only used inside the game, but not for the looking around in front of the Immersive Screen (can’t word it better, sorry).

If this is true: where is this setting located in the in-game menu? I remember trying to disable mouse in the past for playing with gamepad, but that locked the screen to my head!

Last week I installed “VorpX” to enjoy VR in my “Oculus Rift” headset For convenience, I made the shortcut appear in the taskbar near the clock (notification center ) I started by reading your Guide for New Users, as well as many posts on your forum.
Being myself a programmer (but not game software), I know the importance of getting information before notifying anomalies.

Once this step was completed, I tested the software on 2 train simulators: “TS Classic” and “TSW3”
Congratulations by the way, for your work: the immersion in “Full VR mode” is very successful

But, keeping a VR headset on your head for more than 2 hours is quite painful
So I decided to quit VorpX cleanly and restart the game in normal mode.
(right click on the “vorpX Control” icon > Exit > Confirm with OK)

With TSW3, the game behaved normally. Unfortunately, with TS Classic, I encountered a small problem: In the cabin view, it was no longer possible for me to orient my view with the mouse! (by default, you perform a held right click to move your gaze inside the driver’s cabin)
In fact, the trackIR of your software had remained abnormally connected…

I explain the problem on the Steam forum concerning this simulator
(with temporary workaround to fix this issue) https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/3192494154703441823/

I hope you may find the solution to this inconvenience? Good day

Unfortunately not all user made cloud profiles can guarantee working 3D, and sometimes game updates break these profiles. It’s also possible that the cloud profiles you tried were only tagged for the demo Prologue version exe, in which case you should check that your exact game exe name is listed inside that profile. If it’s not there you can add it.

When any unassigned exe is run, vorpX will try to hook into it with a default profile that offers no 3D reconstruction options, only a flat screen. It’s possible this is what happened to you.

It appears the game is on Unity engine, so you can also try cloning the Unity 5 base profile in your local list and add the Lust from Beyond exe to it. In my experience with many unity games, this profile almost always achieves G3D out of the box. You just might need to adjust your preferred screen type and size, and maybe adjust the 3D strength to your desired scale. Shadows will still be a bit strange sometimes, so you can try setting them to medium or low, or hide them entirely with the shader authoring tool if you want (ctrl + End).

I played Star Wars Battlefront II and it runs fine, but when I’m in a match the mouse cursor is visible at the center of the screen, inside the crosshair. Is there any way to hide it?

Big city, though I have a strange bug with the camera when leaving vehicules, otherwise it is working quite good with vorpx DirectVR. Other mods are crashing or working very bad.

About the Virtual Desktop Oculus feature, maybe I’m wrong yes. I could run some of my Oculus games in PICO 4 thanks to it, but I don’t know how it works internally.

I also tried the Virtual Desktop “Launch Game” on some flat game while using Vorpx in “Oculus” mode and with my PICO 4, it launched them but inside steam VR so not sure it would help for games that don’t work with Steam VR.

I tried OpenXR, and Win+Y didn’t help. But thanks anyway!
In all modes (Oculus/OpenXR/Steam) the game doesn’t launch inside HMD. And the keyboard/controller don’t work in desktop game window.
Also, I have this error in log file:

    [2023-01-10 20:58:50 UTC+01:00] [21832] [ASSERT] [EquipmentSystem::GetPlayerData] Unable to find player data!

The game launches, but I can’t use the cursor to start the game. It is also not working with the controller. It just flies in the opposite direction. Also, I see game menu on PC screen, but not inside my VR glasses.

So I can’t start the game because of that. Does anyone know how to fix that?

I play the 1.61 version of game, with the latest vorpx cyberpunk mod.

    – I tried to run the game with the full version of vorpX
    – I tried to reinstall the game

I think you should also check headsets with a smaller resolution and see if it’s not a better choice than the Reverb G2.
Real 3D in VR needs about double performances, as it will render twice (once for each eye). Meaning, if you get to run a game at 4k with steady 60 FPS, you will get round 30 fps in VR and it could be uncomfortable to watch as low fps could resulte as motion sickess for you.

I would like to point 2 important things :
First, resolution on your screen and it’s display in VR can look different; a 1080p on a 1080p screen can look clean, but inside the headset, it will look more blury and aliasez.
1440p looks OK in the G2, and 4k is nice.
Even with my 3090, i couldn’t run most games at 4K with high FPS and high graphics settings.

Second, concerning Fallout 4, this game does not have DLSS; wich is bad for VR as it help having a higher frame rate without loosing too much quality. I couldn’t run Fallout 4 at decent display and graphics with my 3090, so in the end, i bought Fallout 4 VR.
So if you want to run Fallout 4 in VR, be ready to reduce the graphic quality enough to get smooth FPS.
The good news is, Fallout 4 will have a free update from Bethesda this year, so let’s hope that they will include DLSS.

Is there any other games you would like to play with VorpX ?
Outside of Fallout 4, the original Mass Effect trilogie is one of my favorite experience; i wouldn’t be able to play this games flat anymore.

    Fixed it:

For some reason the MVC 3D decoder wasnt activated/checked in the mpc-be options–> internal filters.
Also I had to go fullscreen mode to allign the picture inside hmd correctly. Now its all workin fine.

Hi i’m a owner of HP G2, and i think it is a good headset to beging with VR IF your main concern is quality display for medium price over everything else.
His display is 2160×2160 for each eye, so if you want to take full advantage of his resolution in game, you need a biffy computer.
His field of view is in the average-low compared to other headsets today, and his sweet spot his pretty narrow.
His refresh rate in only 90hz but with 2160×2160*2 it was not shocking (2 years ago).

The G2 use Fresnel lens and there is no eye tracking, meaning that when you wear the headset, you look at the world by moving your head, not your eyes. If you move your eyes inside the headset, everything outside of the sweetspot will be blury.

About 2 years ago when the G2 was new to the market, i would have recommanded it for any people looking for a great display.
But today i would not recommande the G2 brand new; there is new headsets on the way that are better at everything, but if you can get a second hand in good condition at cheap price, it is not a bad choice to begin with.

If you have a high end computer (4090 owner), i would recommand waiting few weeks for the Pimax Crystal instead.
Since i upgraded my GPU, the “narrow” field of view and 90hz refresh rate of the G2 is the main reason why i will change for a better headset.
Long story short, i would not recommand the G2 at all if your hardware and GPU are above 3090TI.

I used mpc-be with “enhanced video renderer (custom presenter)” as videorenderer and hat no problems playing 3D Blueray in full over/under 3d format.
But for some reason it does not work anymore despite having changed anything to MPC-BE settings etc.
If Vorpx hooker is disabled and run mpc-be and open the dvd everything looks fine and the video is correctly shown in full over/under but when vorpx hooker is active and I try to open the dvd it only shows the top view (over) and also just 1/2 of it (zoomed in). Inside my headset everything looks like kind of low resolution (vorpx headset menue) and the the image is totally messed up (like using side by side format for a over/under video).
Did the recent Vorpx update break mpc-be? @Ralf
Does anyone else run into these issues?
    Plz help!
