So this move by Steam lately, obviously shows that they´re probably ready to dump VR after all.

May that fat fu**tard rot in hell.

I am aware this is not really a vorpX-exclusive related thread, but this may be of interest to some people here and if not, feel free to erase it, no problem.

    No way.
Valve is working on a new headset.

What you see there is SIMPLIFICATION.

There is no need to mention the Trademarks of supported hardware, as if games will tell trademarks for other hardware on the descriptions. In any case the headset trademarks can be mentioned in the required hardware as there is already happening with other hardwares.

So VR supported or VR only is the feature of the game, simply to read and understand.

    You worry too much.

About the numbers, Quest 2 has it’s own market and is the leader in VR and keeps growing, Pico 4 is the same, PSVR is already the same and now is reaching a 2nd Generation with PSVR2.
So…. instead of seing only steam, there are plenty of markets now that keep growing.
VR is unique, right now is like a PREMIUM GAMING SOLUTION. You pay an additional hardware in your gaming rig, for a PREMIUM “BE INSIDE GAMES” EXPERIENCE. (ok, maybe not all games are premium sure, but my point is that nothing beats the same premium game with VR than without VR)

I don’t blame Sony anything, if the PSVR 2 will show the Quest 2 fans how ugly and simple their mobile game are, than that will be the last chance for a comeback of PC-VR, for the upcoming years.

The Quest 2 killed the development of many PC-VR games, and the prices of the other Headsets with a HDMI or Displayport were a way to high.

Also that you can’t play many games with Mid-End-PCs in VR was a big problem. If the company’s integrated eye tracking like tobii and we get a frame boost of 30% performance, then we will be able to play the most of the games with a mid-end-pc.

Microsoft started to sell crap WMR Headsets in 2017 and withdraws offended, and did the same with Reverb G2 for now, because of the high price of the Reverb G2.
But it’s still my favorite headset.

Valve with Index did the mistake to use 3K Displays instead of 4K, and because of the missing inside out tracking the price was a way to high. But the Fov and the quality of the Headset is great.

Meta wasn’t interested in vr gaming, Mark Zuckerberg is interested in an metaverse, like Facebook 2.0. The reason why he hyped and invested billions of dollars in VR games is a Facebook 2.0 on not VR gaming.

The prestigious of our tools like vorpx and the other is not good enough. We have to get much louder and more aggressive to the native vr gamer. The experience in the games with a VR headset does matter, and not the use of motion controllers, only. The beautiful 3D graphics and the Full-VR in First Person games of vorpx and the depth and complexity of realy good 2D Triple A games are at least as good as Half Life Alyx, which is the best native VR game in my opinion.

Everyone of us can try to convince our whole family to try Vorpx with a xbox controller on Christmas days for example with a a racing game seated on a chair or couch, and try to convince that they talk about that to their friends.

The default folder for Windows apps is C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. It’s hidden per default, so you have to enable ‘Show hidden files’ in the Explorer options. Caveat: It’s also access restricted to protect apps installed there. Whether you want to change that or not is up to you.

BTW: If you want to access the folder to add the .exe to a vorpX profile: that is not necessary. Instead simply use the ‘Add Process’ button in the config app while the game is running. Doing so opens a list of currently running processes, so you don’t have to browse to the file location at all to add it to a profile.

BTW2: Some Game Pass games aren’t hookable either way though since they might be compiled in a way that makes them run inside a sandbox. That only affects a minority of Game Pass games though. Not sure whether that’s the case for Crackdown 3 or not.

BTW3: For most Game Pass games you can select a different folder since quite a while, Microsoft at some point realized that many PC gamers expect their games to be moddable. Apparently that’s not the case for Crackdown 3 though.

Until some days ago, I was very happy with my RTX 4090 purchase, to play Skyrim LE at 4K, on a Pimax 8KX, as I already showed on a YouTube video posted on another topic.

And suddenly, with almost no warning, the performance inside Skyrim LE in VR, with Vorpx, became horrible, wait worst I got before with my RTX 3090. There was a delay and a warp on the image, when I looked around, inside the game. I was as if some function supposed to be made by the graphics card, it was now made by the processor.

Short story, I found that a very recent Windows update change the way the hardware accelerated GPU scheduling works. Now, there is also an option for windowed games, but the most important was that a had this option set to off, because sometimes there was a tremendous ghosting on the vertical white lines and letters in the game’s menus (you must use the mod SkyUI to see this problem), but now accelerated GPU scheduling must be on, or you will see a tremendous drag and ripple effect of the image when you look around, inside the game. As for the ghosting on the game’s menu, using SkyUI, the problem seems not entirely resolved, but I didn’t play long enough to confirm this.

Sounds as if your Windows is messed up somehow. Since several years the profile database is stored in a shared ProgramData folder (usually C:\ProgramData) that is shared across all accounts. Both the config app and the actual vorpX request the actual location via built in Windows functions. If these functions point to the virtual store in your user folder when requesting the shared ProgramData folder, something is seriously wrong.

If I had to guess, I’d say for some reason there might be no write access to C:\ProgramData for the user in question. Just a guess though. Either way, under normal circumstances the database would definitely not be inside the virtual store.

This never happened yet to any game on vorpX and i´ve played a lot to this point.

Problem is “black pencil lines and circles” appearing slightly in cut-scenes (mostly on character faces), also in the menu but mostly and heavily during gameplay, starting to show right at the beginning of the game where everything looks fine except when looking up the nightskies:

In almost all gaps between clouds are those pencil-lines appearing, with smaller circles in the middle.

Any idea WTF is causing this or if someone had such a similiar issue with other games?

Oh and well, yes of course those glitches only appear inside my VR-goggles while they are non-existent on my monitor.

The best case (except from it working, but somehow never interfering, which would of course be the very best case) would be the upscaling happening inside the game like current DLSS, but the frame interpolation within the GPU driver after vorpX grabbed the image. I that case it would pretty much work like DLSS 2.0 does as far as vorpX is concerned, plus potential improvements they might have in store for the AI upscaling.

    Hi

I am trying to use vorpX (paying customer) with F1 2021. I load the default profile but when the game starts, there is no motion tracking. Instead, the picture just moves with the headset, a bit slower than the head movement. I.e. it looks as if the picture is hunting my head movement but inside the game my view is always straight ahead. I tried to import another profile for F1 2021 but it is forbidden for games with an official profile, so I cannot test with anything else.

What can I do to use vorpX with F1 2021? Any guidelines?

    Thank you for your support.

Hello. I have just bought Cyberpunk after a long wait (I was waiting for it to become more complete and I think it is now) and I just tried to make it work with this VR mod.

I have followed every step to install it BUT when I launched it via steam, or Oculus home, or directly with the exe in the bin folder, it just didn’t hook : The game still start in pancake mode, on my screen, no VR.
I have no mods installed, No nexus, alredady uninstall/ reinstall everything, deleted d3d12on7 folder and de dll inside it, replace the CET folder with the latest,… EVERYTHING, but it still doesn’t hook, NO VR.

Can somebody please help me? I am surely missing something but I don’t know what…

Fired up this game and followed your instructions.. thank you
    – deleted battleye successfully and used your Cloud profile (no Uplay at my end, Ubisoft Connect only so I did not do anything here as it hooked)
    – it hooked okay and inside the game I had the choice of Z3D Normal and Adaptive (no experimental G3D as you mentioned)

but sadly no 3D at all even no Z3D although showing in Vorpx Menu.

    dont know why.
    Temporal injection AA was OFF
    (Oculus 2 headset)

Ps. I tried with Reshade and Superdepth 3D and it works well with Desktop Viewer, but prefer Vorpx yet that does not show any 3D for some reason.

the problem is essentially their game design, not a version – randomly generated levels are completely random with enemies and items spawning inside walls, and since they cant have ai pathfinding in a random mess they generate enemies have to teleport in a crow particles to you and then try to fight in a prefab mess they scattered. Animations and movement is not polished in themselves since its not a big aaa studio and combined with random placement map part jank it just multiplies.

I managed to get it to run at 90 with some ue tweaks in config files and it runs in dx11, well Im using launch parameters to make sure it does because there are only 2 dx12 profiles: cyberpunk and game-that-we-cant-speak-of so essentially just cyberpunk and it doesnt have g3d or z3d in dream cycle even though it hooks.

Most of you who know me a bit probably noticed already that contrary to how „good“ advertising works I don’t really like to promise the moon, so just to keep expectations in check a bit:

    1. This would only with with G3D profiles except for games with positional tracking via game specific DirectVR magic.
    2. When done via G3D moving the camera over larger distances causes visual glitches in games with more complex deferred renderers.
    3. May mess up mouse/gamepad rotation in some games.
    4. Head/face geometry will probably flicker in occasionally when the camera is moved inside/in front of the head.

That said: I will definitely check whether it works well enough in a variety of games and depending on how much of an actual issue the points above turn out to be actually, decide whether it‘s worth it or not.

Anyone encountered the issue that the game stops for split second every 10 seconds with Vorpx?
it works great otherwise, NONE of the game settings matter, if low, V-synch off or anything – tried it all – nothing works , the game runs okay without stopping without vorpx, but with vorpx loaded, it stops for split second inside the game and is basically unplayable.. anyone know a fix?
