Thanks for your advice Lawrence1962, I’ll try it. 3D isn’t important for me, the most important is Full VR because I feel inside the game.
In this days i play The evil inside 2 with first person. It s a best experience with vorpx. This is bettar that all resident evil!!
Hi, I am trying to use vorpx with HTC Vive Pro 2.
There are two main problems:
1. Geometry mode not working at all (tested on Skyrim and The Outer Worlds) – the same issue – inside VR glasses game freezed on a single frame, while in the same time on a PC all works perfectly good with high fps – while I move headset game camera moves and etc.
2. With Z-Buffer modes images looks blurry, it is close to the development kits with ultra low resolutions, something definitely not okay here too.
I have RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, Ryzen 5600X
Please help me to fix that and start to use your software
Hi,
I own Vive Pro 2 and it is really good headset. No other headset feels that real with price less then 3k so far.
But.
But it does not work properly with vorpx! Image looks blurry with z-buffer mods, geometry mod not working.
When I play Skyrim or other games that must work perfectly with vorpx next happaned:
1. Screen on PC works okay, no freeze and good fps.
2. Inside VR glasses image freezed on single frame and nothing happens.
So guys from vorpx must or fix their software or add message that they does not support this glasses to not mislead.
Thanks Ralf,
I figured a few things.
Uninstalled Open Track – no changes
Video Driver Clean Installation – no change
In Vorpx Menu inside Game.
In OpenXR and Steam
Open XR – Mouse Middle Click actually brings you inside VR Full Mode
Clicking to get out of VR full screen is actually what makes screen disappear, zooming out to
infinity.
Steam – Behaves correctly.
But both Steam and Open XR
When in full VR I can see the black background environment.
I tried to use menu of VorpX inside game to zoom in but it doesn’t change. The number stays at
0.40 no matter what I do.
Now resolution.
GPU is pretty beefed up. It can take res but what I found out is that game follows res of monitor instead of VR Headset and I am using a 1080 TV as monitor.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried center it.
Tried Alt and Control Space… but that’s only for when infante was far left but that is a completely different issue.
Middle mouse button zooming out instead of going inside full VR is the main issue.
I am out of ideas right now.
Will try next weekend again.
I find that this update with the Mass Effect Legendary 1 profile works really well with both #1 and 2, but does not want to hook into #3 so far- is this a known issue?
[the supported games list does not yet show this new profile, but is in the menu]
Is the Direct Vr utility still present but does not work for ME LE ?
[really secretly hoped to play it in full direct VR]
Great job as always, playing the remaster in VR is just wonderful, they’ve upgraded the character models in high res and the locations and weather, and lighting etc., just makes it so beautiful to be “inside” that world.
Thanks again!
There are two issues with going through Generic Mode.
One is as mentioned the format to provide stereoscopy. This tends to be a mess and almost all formats have compromises and limitations. Half-SBS will reduce the horizontal resolution. Depending on the source this can be more or less of a problem. Most passive 3D displays work better with Half-TAB due to how the polarizing filters are oriented.
Frankly I don’t know why we don’t have a common/standard format based on color space.
The idea is you will lose details unless all of your software and hardware in the chain supports Full-SBS/TAB.
The other has to do with FPS limiting and synchronization. This only applies to an HMD where there is a separate render task for VR which takes quite a bit of resources. vorpX will adjust the game FPS based on performance and synchronize frames to allow stutter-free VR rendering. When using vorpX Generic Display + Virtual Desktop this does not happen. It will work fine for something like INSIDE, but anything heavier on the GPU will result in a stuttery mess.

I tried the Generic 3D Display option with Virtual Desktop (PC version). The Virtual Desktop screen is so much more flexible. So far, i’ve finished INSIDE with that method. Too bad it’s not an officially supported mode.
Hallo Kole,
I m using the All in One Installer Version from this site here: https://avpunknown.com/avp2aio/
In taskmanager it says: “Client MFC Application”…but the icon is the same as lithtech icon inside avp2 dir.
Anyway thanks for your help so far…will test some things out.

Hi team,
I’ve been using vorpx for a few years now across a variety of different machines and headsets and have never had any issue. Within the last couple of days I have been plagued by some oddball behaviour on games that have always been working fine for me.
Fallout New Vegas:
DirectVR scan causes freeze and crash to desktop.
Metro 2033 / Last Light Redux:
About 1 in 3 game startups won’t crash. Once in game, everything looks fine but DirectVR scan crashes to desktop.
Some other titles work perfectly fine (Mirror’s Edge / Dishonored) and DirectVR scan as intended. I use windows defender as my AV and have changed no settings on that side of things. I also added vorpx to its exclusions just in case some windows update made it overzealous.
I went the nuclear option and did a fresh install of win10 and the issues persists. I have also tried doing clean re-installs of vorpx inside and outside of the c: programs folder. No difference was discovered.
I’m using a valve index on a AMD 5950x, 64gb RAM and a RTX 3090 on Win10 64bit (21H1 OS Build 19043.1052)
I’m curious if anyone else has encountered similiar issues.
How exactly the glitch manifests itself may indeed depend on the resolution, with the suggested 4:3 res and the HUD scale at default the minimap should just be a bit wider than it is supposed to be.
Normally you should be able to set the resolution in the vorpX menu (‘DirectVR’). If that doesn’t work, please make sure that your normal Windows user account has write access to the commandline.txt file inside your GTA V install folder. Alternatively launching both the game and vorpX as admin would also ensure that vorpX can write to the file.
On a sidenote: currently the game looks best with vorpX with a higher actual resolution instead of using the game’s resolution scaling option for upping the internal res.
Thank you for all your work on this excellent piece of software. At this point I seriously feel like there would be an empty crater inside my PC and mind if I somehow lost VorpX.
OMG OMG OMG it works!!!
After a few hours of tinkering, I think I’ve got a consistently working solution for Final Fantasy XIV. For me, the game needs the Hook Helper. Unfortunately, vorpX never prompts to install the Hook Helper. Here’s what I did:
– Install the Hook Helper on a DIFFERENT game. For me, I used Destiny 2.
– Navigate to the game folder for the game you just configured the Hook Helper. Inside this folder, you should see something like “version.dll”. This is the vorpX Hook Helper. You can confirm this by going to Properties->Details for the file. You’ll see that the “File descripion” is “vorpX VR Driver”. Note that from my research, this file may also be named “d3d9.dll”, “Dxgi.dll”, or possibly “vorpWrap.dll”.
– One you’ve found the Hook Helper DLL, copy this to the Final Fantasy XIV game folder. For me, the path is “C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV – A Realm Reborn\game”.
After this, vorpX should have no problem hooking into Final Fantasy XIV.
I used the NieR: Automata profile for Final Fantasy XIV. So far, it seems to work well using Z3D-Normal. I recommend cranking up the 3D Strength all the way (3.0) and also increasing the Depth Weighting (I’m testing with 1.0 here). The 3D isn’t very strong without these settings.
I just got this to work a moment ago, so I’m very much so still testing. So far, so good, though! =)
