Topic: OutLast Not Working
I just bought VorpX so I could play Outlast, but when I try and start outlast it just starts on the PC, not on the DK2. I got Crysis 3 working, (It looked like crap, all zoomed in made me cross eyes on G3D. But anyway, I thought I would try Outlast. Please help! I Have the latest Oculus run-time and the newest vorpx because I just bought it.
Hello! Oculus shipping is around the corner and i think i can finally fulfill my long dream about experiencing Dark Messiah of Might and Magic in VR. I have waited this since 2008. I ordered the freaking Trimersion back in days because i didn’t know any better back then.
So anybody knows how well this game is working with VorpX? Anybody have the game and can test it with VorpX 0.9? That game is just freaking amazing and it goes to “you need to play it” -category.
Vorpx was working fine for me in every game
Skyrim
Zombiu
Dirt 3
Aliens vs predator 3
Penumbra
Amnesia
Bfbc2
Alien isolation
Necrovision
Gtaiv
Gtav
Bf3/4
Payday 2
Far cry 3/4Then after the 0.9.1 version I got the error “unnable to initiate oculus runtime”, this was because the new driver invalidated every occulus runtime version below version 7.
Now only Skyrim and Zombiu work.
Updating to windows 10 made every game on steam and several others crash instantly upon starting, despite them working perfectly before the update to 0.9.1. and after several days of troubleshooting I am certain the problem is privilege related, to uncontingent framework dependencies, and those are basically just i/o. What really changed was not changed by me.
Im guessing the reason you couldnt use clone screen but used direct to HMD is the same reason i am getting the crashes, because the process that simulates direct to hmd is what is malfunctioning.
So I am instead forced to do a system restore to fix this, but the vorpx autoupdater is a pain, I have to be offline to use it.
If there was an option to not update beyond a certain patch i would be very grateful, at the current time whatever features are added do not matter because i am unnable to run almost any games with them anyway.
In windows 10 there is slight mouseacceleration which makes it unservicable for practising counterstrike unreal tournament or starcraft II at a competitive level, and i am not talking about the improved pointer precision feature.
I would bore you with links and videos of how i can compete at any level with the occulus rift as the FOV inflation makes you extremely accurate (try it for yourself if you dont believe me!) but giving an alternative just for me and a couple of others who struggle with windows 10 is a longshot anyway.
The reason i dont mind using direct to HMD is because i have gotten extremely good at running it, first i turn the HMD on, then i use launchy to start executibles using touch such as Vorpx, i never have to see them even open. For windows i close one eye and have perfect perception, i have to admit it was very difficult in the beginning and i understand the efficiency is much greater with the “Direct HMD access from apps” mode, but the compatability renders this useless for consumers that are not developers.
Are you certain 0.9.1. works with the games i have listed?
Either way vorpx is the best software for vr gaming, the customization perticularly with the real time IPD, 2d FOV and headtracking sensitivity was worth every penny i spent, when fully optimized i can play for days and not get motionsickness, so thank you deerly Ralf and the vorpx team.
Topic: Payday 2
I just recently downloaded the free payday 2 demo, because i saw where it supports g3d, and OMG! It’s amazing in geometry 3d!!!! So here’s the really messed up part of this. I decided to go ahead and buy the full version, so after downloading, I fired up the game with vorpx and it’s all messed up. I noticed almost 1/4 of the menu was missing and thought oh crap this ain’t good and sure enough when the game loaded the colors were totally screwed up and caused my eyes to go crossed for a moment. It was like a bad anaglyph 3d mode or something. Ralf do you know or anyone else why the demo works flawlessly, but the full version doesn’t? I really would like to get the full version running properly on the rift.
I bought VorpX today just to enable VR support on my DK2 with the Talos Principle, which I also bought today.
I have installed the newest Oculus 0.8 runtime, the newest nVidia driver, and (I presume) the newest VorpX (since it just downloaded today and I have read on this site that the downloader always installs the latest version).
The DK2 works just fine for games and demos that I have used previously; all of them have native VR support.
However, when I run the VorpX program (with the corresponding yellow V in the windows tray), and then run the Talos Principle, I get the standard DK2 disclaimer screen in the DK2 but then only a black screen. I also get nothing but a dark grey screen on my monitor with a mouse cursor in the middle. I can move the mouse cursor but can’t do anything else. I have to ctrl-alt-delete, then show my desktop, to find the task manager showing that The Talos Principle is “not responding”.
I bought VorpX today specifically because The Talos Principle is reported as a supported game. So how can I get this game to work with VorpX?
For what it’s worth, I’m not running any anti virus software, any special 3d drivers or applications or really much of anything at all. I keep this PC free of almost everything, I just use it to run DK2 demos mostly and have very little installed.
Thank you!
