    Wow, nice find : )

So i quickly tried 5 or 6 profiles and i found one where GD3 works but it’s unplayable and it crash, but it prove that G3D is possible.

This is the profile for Trials of Mana by legaiaflame (vorpx 20.1.0).
You need to turn off head tracking, as it made my render for the left eyes flat white.
Sadely, characters are blury as hell, the scene objects are fine though, but shadows are ****-up no matter the quality in the option.
There is also glowy green artefacts on characters depending of … lightning sources ? i can’t say for sure what causes that.

May be we can find a better existing profile until someone make one.

BTW, i just added -dx11 in the launch option on the Epic launcher, i did not modify any file.

    Hello,
I got my first Vr today (Oculus Quest 2) and connected it to the PC just to recognize, my favourite game has no VR support. So I bought VORPX and tried to set it up for at least the whole day. But I can’t get it working with 6DOF.
I managed to get a better resolution and even to set the Shadows perfectly high. The game looks ok in the Headset but when you look around, you get sick instantly, cause the head in-game is only turning, but not moving.
I know fs19 has a head and eye-tracking support and I thought someone told me, it’s possible to get 6DOF for the head as well…
is that just not possible or am I missing a setting somewhere????

    please help!

Weird, the forum said this was marked as spam. so I’ll retry

    My problem

I have finally gotten VorpX to run with FFXIV. Z3D works, G3D won’t load in 3d. Has the error saying anti-aliasing needs to be turned off in the game settings. I have turned down every setting, and it seems it isn’t possible with the game’s internal settings. I was wondering if there is a mistake with my setup, or if the developer could take a look at it.

    The System

    i7-4790k, Nvidia GTX 960, Oculus Rift S.
I first start Oculus’s software. Then I start Steam, and turn on Steam VR without steam
home. Thirdly I turn on VorpX. I have a Hook Helper copied into my FFXIV directory which
    allows it to hook.

I’m using the Nier Automata profile changed for FFXIV.

In my Nvidia settings, I also turned off any 3D smoothing or whatever, just in case that
    caused it.

    The Test

Booting the full game is difficult, requires connecting to servers, and owning a service
account. If anybody wants to play with it, download the FFXIV Endwalker Benchmark that as released earlier this year. It has the same game engine, and same issues. In fact, I did my
first testing with the benchmark as well. So if anybody wants to try getting it to work, you
    needn’t buy anything.

I hope I didn’t forget anything. It took me a few hours to figure this out, and i plan to make a thorough guide when I get it fully working. Maybe even upload to my youtube channel to help others. But not being able to use G3D seems solvable, yet tricky. Thanks

It‘s always a bit difficult to reply in a meaningful way to ‚I didn‘t change anything, things just stopped working.‘-posts. So please excuse that I only have a more general answer: If you haven’t done so already, please try to reset both the game options and the vorpX profile to default. That should get you back to a state from before the issue started to occur.

In case of issues in regard to using menus, also switching to EdgePeek mode (mousewheel click) sometimes help. If a profile comes with a scalable HUD that may occasionally cause issues with mouse coordinates, specifically whenever the mouse cursor can‘t also be scaled for one or the other reason. This particulur issue can be resolved by using menus in EdgePeek mode.

As far as I’m aware Arma 3 also is moddable, so if you happen to have installed any mods recently, please also try whether the issue occurs without mods.

    @thomas3d,

Thanks for the heads up on the recent beta. I gave it a shot, and here is what I came away with:
    – My specs: i7-8700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti with Valve Index (90Hz, Motion Smoothing On).
    – vorpX profile: the only G3D/positional profile in the vorpX cloud.
    – After doing a Direct VR scan while in FullVR mode, I was getting too much screen movement (e.g., nothing on the screen was staying in place when looking around). To resolve this, I had to make the following adjustments:
= Had to use Letterbox 2 (Pixel 1:1 had screen movement and looked surprisingly flat; Letterbox 1 had better 3D but enough screen movement to be annoying).
= Had to reduce Image Zoom to 0.77 to get the image to be completely stable. I think this screwed my sense of scale on how big I was relative to the environment.
= 3D scale/strength was around 0.88. The more I increased it, the smaller the environment became, and I really felt like a giant in a small world.
= Once I got a weapon, it was literally out in front of my face, partially obscuring my view. I had to physically step forward to put the gun out of my FOV. Zooming in with the weapon caused the screen to start moving again, so I stopped using zoom real quick.

Your ae correct the game is more fun to play with vorpX, and had better 3D (i.e. you can tell there’s some 3D, but for myself, it is not ‘pop-out’ 3D.

    Hellgate London (G3D)

I made a new profile for this game because the first one didnt have any shader fixes and there was a user mismatch with the cloud profile. This one should look better, certain menu items remain abit out of depth because they were using the same shader as the main character. Just dont give the HUD too much depth and your good to go.

    – Full VR with Headtracking
    – Profile available at the cloud

not sure if it was your profile because it wasn’t the same name, but it did say based off of Ori.. didn’t seem very 3d, but somehow made my eyes hurt.. not disrespecting your effort, just trying to give good feedback. thanks for your work (if it’s yours)

Tried my best to go through and uninstall/close anything that would be interfering and still couldn’t get it working. Tried with a fresh install of Windows 11 with the only things installed bar what is auto installed being what I need to run a.k.a. Oculus, Origin, Titanfall 2 and VorpX. Still wouldn’t work. Tried again to go through what is running on my computer but couldn’t find anything to close that fixed it.

I do have an internal GPU in my CPU but my BIOS doesn’t appear to have an option to disable it. This is the only game so far that straight up refuses to run with VorpX.

Don’t know if this is normal for when a game won’t hook but it pretty much just gives me a white screen with the “Attaching to…” box over it and then closes Titanfall 2 and the “Attaching to…” box a few seconds (sometimes it takes longer, around 30 seconds) after they first show up. I’m kinda out of ideas on what to do from here :(

Is there anything in Windows 11 that would cause it to do this?

    Hi all,

I’m running into an issue with the official Deathloop profile. Z3D is fine and all, but on my Oculus it works well when it’s 100% by default, but if I make a single setting modification (simple stuff like ambient background or even xbox override binds because those are pretty bad by default), I get a strange performance/freeze loop the next time I play, until I reset fully again.

I’ve made myself about 10 profiles in the past 3 years, with great success, and always find the best I can do with Vorpx’s tonnes of settings. Since the official profile seems buggy, I would love to make my own profile, but now I get the annoying warning about the exe being used already (like in this recent thread: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/remove-assigned-program-to-add-to-another-profile/)

Instead of troubleshooting the official profile, I would love to be able to make my own profile, like I did for many other games, but renaming the exe prevents it from launching with Steam.

    1) Is there ANY solution for the exe thing? THAT’S the biggest problem if you ask me.
    2) Otherwise, any suggestions to fix/present the freeze > low fps > smooth fps loop?
    * Yes, I tried safe sync mode, I tried FluidSync, nothing works – it just makes things worse actually
    * No, performance is not an issue at all when using the reset official profile
    * Passing through SteamVR destroys the performance. I go from capped 90fps via Oculus to stuttering 30-60, so it’s not an option sadly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, because I can see that it works well with the game, but something breaks it if I do not fully reset every time I want to play it. I’ve put 120 hours into this game and am not about to pass on an opportunity to spend the next 200 in VR ;)

    Thanks!

I’m with Oisin! RE2 is incredible, and relative to RE7 on PSVR or say Alien Isolation mother mod, I find the third person perspective in 3D to be just as intense and immersive an experience. I know there’s a lot out there about first person VR mods for RE2 and RE3, but I’ll play devils advocate and say that this kind of visual quality on a claustrophobic third person view is one of the more exciting and dazzling gaming experience of recent memory. I do wish 3D cinema mode gaming got more love and notoriety, and ultimately development… because wow, it’s an experience all of its own.

First things first: please keep in mind that the ‘Safe’ option exists precisely for the purpose of dealing with GPU overload caused by cranking up settings too high. That’s what it’s for: it sacrifices a few FPS for better stability when you overdo things.

    That said:

Incidentally I just spent the entire Sunday night (it’s almost 5am here) checking exactly this. Quite successful. Not only will there be a full frame less latency with ‘FluidSync’ enabled, which is great in itself. Almost more imprtant: with the ‘Fast’ headset sync it’s now a lot harder to tank the headset framerate below 90, regardless of GPU utilization. That’s for the most part what made things go haywire when you overdo things. At stable 30/90 plus the better latancy even 30fps are not only bearable, but actually quite playable.

Caveat 1: This does not fully apply to ‘Alt. Fast’, which is what DX12 always uses (‘Fast’ and ‘Alt. Fast’) are currently the same for DX12. I’ll check later today after a few hours of good sleep whether I can do something about that. At least The better latency also applies to DX12 though.

Caveat 2: Haven’t checked Pimax yet. Pimax headsets usually are somewhat more problematic in this regard, so not sure how things will turn out for Pimax.

Many newer Triple A games with dx12, only support Z3D. It has a amazing image quality but is not so much immersive as G3D. Games with dx11 and G3D let you feel, that you really in the world of the game. If you have a game with detailed and high quality motion captured NPCs, you will have the feeling that they are “living people”. If you have motion sickness in the beginning, use Z3D and lower the 3D strength, and increase it step by step.

My goal is to get 45fps, which will be upscaled by vorpx to 90fps. The adjusting screw are graphic details depending on the game and not changing the resolution. My resolution is always nearly 4k (aspect ratios 4:3 or 5:4). And my Antialiasing is always Ultra. I adjust the Texture Settings to the size of my Ram of my graphics card. The Texture setting doesn’t cost performance if you adjust it to the size of your video ram. In many newer G3D games i have to lower the graphic details to medium or low. In Z3D i can play many games in high or ultra. If you have no high-end graphics card you can’t play many newer G3D games in 4k, even not if you lower graphic details to the lowest. In my opinion there are a few games, that are playable in 1440p or 3K, but it’s not the full Reverb G2 experience. In many cases i switch from G3D to Z3D in the game, because i prefer 4k ultra in Z3D instead of G3D in 1440p. But many vorpx user do it anyway, and will contradict me.

    it does indeed.
lossless scaling will also do the sharpening for you too, if for some reason the one in Vorpx causes issues.
from my perspective Vorpx has integrated the sharpening part of FSR whereas lossless scaling has that AND the upscaling tech to boot.

bear in mind I have mainly tested with games that don’t have official profiles or support for Vorpx, and that’s where re-shade comes in.

Lossless scaling should work just as well with officially supported games.
just run it in windowed mode at the resolution per the chart, and upscale by the associated factor with lossless scaling

as an example when I previously tried max payne 3 with vorpx and reshade it was unplayable at any decent resolution. 30-40 fps . with lossless scaling i can have the game running at 70-80fps while still looking great in the headset

You are very welcome, I recently done the mission where Arthur & Lenny get drunk at the saloon in Valentine, it is very cool & trippy in VR with the room going all bendy & warped as you get drunk, i walked in on Lenny getting it on with female Lenny, escaped the law & am now taking a slow walk back to Valentine where my horse Midknight is.

In the flat version of the game i would have just run there as fast as possible but in VR it is so immersive that sometimes i just can’t help but take a slow walk through the world.

The next part of this post contained inside the —‘s is my attempt to describe how even a simple slow walk to Valentine is in VR to try to help people get a sense of what it is like:

I’m walking down a dirt road surrounded by forest, birds crowing in my right ear, chirping in my left, the buzz of some flying insect buzzing around my head, crunching footsteps, a steam train chugging along somewhere in the distance & the low music track playing behind it all,

a couple of buffalo & deer running over the hills up ahead, horses coming down the road, guy being taken to jail in a caged wagon by two lawmen, “stay back from the wagon sir, we’re transporting a fugitive” one of them says as they ride on by, i let them be as i’m enjoying my walk,

i notice the bright coloured plants scattered here & there, reds, purples, yellows, whites, i hear a weird moaning sound to my right, i turn & see an American bison up the hill a bit, i get out the binoculars for a better view, lots of muscle on that (animals are much bigger in VR, sense of scale is great), guy rides right in front of my view & says something about me not being right in the head, i give him a polite greeting & compliment him on his nice looking horse, he goes on his way, i continue walking,

i scare a bird out of the long grass just to my left which makes me jump as it takes flight, no music now just the buzzing of insects, the chirping of birds & the crunching of footsteps, i see smoke to the right in the distance, not going there, spot a group of 5 deer having a munch not too far away, 1 of the deer looks me right in the binoculars as i am looking at them with eyes that seem to say ‘what you looking at?’, i continue on-wards,
two guys on horses, one pulls out a rifle & says something as they go by, i resist the urge to shoot him in the face & continue, i come to a crossroad with a wooden sign, i follow the arrow pointing to Valentine, i see a lonely dead looking tree a little past the crossroad, spooky looking,

i spot a berry bush, what could they be, red raspberry, yummy, pick a couple of nearby yarrow too then continue, train track just to the left of the road, rocky hills in the distance, open grassland with some rocky hills to the right, couple of deer watching me for any sign that i’m a threat, they turn & slowly amble away, snowy covered mountains coming into view, path splits with a wooden sign pointing toward Valentine, i obey the sign,

path crosses over the train tracks, man rides by moaning about something, wagon rides by, two guys out front & two guys inside, a beautiful white & a black horse doing the work of pulling them, more traffic now, getting closer to Valentine,

spot a crow on a rock, use binoculars for a good view, cool colour, mix of black & blue, flies off, path crosses back over the tracks, can clearly see Valentine now, hear an owl, check my platinum pocket watch, 16:05, guy on horse says”a whole lotta ugly business here” as he rides past some blood & human body parts,

the blood trail leads down a little slope past a tree to where there is part of a human corpse suspended from beneath the rail bridge, writing on the rocks near the corpse reads “Look on my works”, there is a human head stuck to a wooden pillar of the rail bridge by knife with something in its mouth, i take it out, the head falls to the ground, part of a map, i go back up the slope & continue toward Valentine,

i cross the tracks into Valentine, i can hear a telephone ringing coming from inside the train station, can almost smell the sheep, 2 guys having a smoke say hello as i walk by,
guy leaning against a post says “that queasy feeling you been having is cause there is so many O’Driscols about”, think i’m gonna punch this guy, “i’ve only gotta click my fingers & this town will string you up & call it justice” he says, he walks towards me saying “you want me to set you straight”, he pushes me, i say “look at you, a coward trying to play it tough,” “make yourself scarce” he says, i punch him in the face, knock him down, he gets up “damn it to hell” he whinges as he pushes me again, we trade several blows, i see his face getting bloodier up as i connect with punch after punch, i knock him down, he gets up, he knocks me down, i get up, we continue beating on each other, i land a left hook that knocks him out cold,

getting darker now, i check the time, 20:35, sound of a steam train whistle blowing, a couple of horses hitched & people standing, sitting, walking, chatting as i walk by houses that are lit up with flickering light from their various sources, Keane’s saloon door is open, tempting me to go in for a drink but no! i must be reunited with my Midknight (word of warning, you can become attached to your horse in VR, they are just so fn cool looking),
i turn onto the main street, the newspaper boy still trying to sell his paper at this time, the sheriff standing having a smoke in front of his office, i look further down the road & there she is, my Midknight, i sprint towards her as people come out of the saloon & others try to enter which ends up making one poor fella fall down the stairs & get covered in mud, “damn” he says as he gets up, a drunk guy gets on his horse as he says the place is full of cheats which his mate on another horse agrees with as they ride away, i watch the guy who fell down the stairs walk away & round the corner at the end of the street, walking as if he had defecated in his drawers,

i turn around, & look at my magnificent Midknight, about 2-3 heads higher than me, big beautiful beast, i pat her then go into the saloon for a drink to celebrate, lots of people in here, piano music playing a nice happy fast tune, barman talks about some lowlifes & about someone being pushed, maybe the guy that fell down the stairs, i order a beer & have a swig while looking at the pictures behind the bar,

i finish my beer then head outside & jump on Midknight & hitch her just over the road at the hotel as i need a bath & a room for some sleep, guy behind the desk remembers me from when i saved Karen, doesn’t want trouble, i pay for a bath, walking down the hall to the bath i hear some guy moaning, must be that guy who i walked in on sitting on the toilet when i was here before, poor guys pipes must be clogged,

got some help with my bath from a nice woman, told her i used to share baths with my dog copper, feeling nice & clean, i pay for a room, next door to the guy with the clogged pipes, & i get some sleep.

I’m not a great story teller by any stretch of the imagination but i hope i have managed to give a sense of just how immersive even something as simple as a slow walk back to Valentine can be in VR.

Info about what i’m using to play it: AMD Ryzen 3600 & RX 5700 XT using Oculus Rift S, my graphics settings i put to the highest resolution i can go to which is 1920 x 1080 & put the resolution scale as high as i could go without losing too much fps, TAA on high & TAA sharpness really high on the slide bar, for other settings i just put the main setting on ultra then lowered them one by one till i found my optimal performance + graphics.
