Hi guys!! So, I used to play Fifa’s series with VORPX since 2019 and it was amazing!! I know for some people, sports games with no first person, could be not interesting, but for me and, I’m pretty sure there’s a few more here, it’s a groundbreaker! The 3D effect gives us immersion and more; accuracy to read the movements with more precision because of the 3D depth.

Anyways, I used to create some profiles here in a very basic way, creating from some other profile from other game in the library, picking profiles that could match and then making some adjustments in VORPX settings in game.

Since last year, FIFA 23, I tried all the profiles, and it couldn’t hook… I’m pretty sure that it could be because of their Anti-cheater (maybe?) since the graphics engine is the same.

The new EA SPORTS FC 24 is there, same engine, same Anti-Cheater, but for some reason, my hope is renewed because I’ve been reading the forum and there’s a lot of experienced profile’s creators around, making a lot of games work! So, I decided to ask for help! :)

I would love to hear from you guys, some tips. What could I try again? VORPX beta? I only play career mode, so maybe playing in offline mode by steam could deactivate the EA Anti-Cheater?
what other ways could I try to make Vorpx hook it? I read something about changing the name of the game.exe, but I didn’t understand so well… Anyway, any help would be appreciated. :)

Lvl27 and chugging full steam ! Hope I get to finish this marvel in Vorpx !

Dave, lets say I cant wait for the official profile. Where’s your version on a scale of 0 to 100 zero being not even started and 100 being what people are expecting the official profile to be ?

I had good and bad experiences with vorpx. Some games came out almost like native VR but others have so much warping I would not beleive people could even play the game.

The cyberpunk mod is a work of art with gestures so I can imagine how much fun it will be in weightlessness !

    hey smartin,

thx ! You can deactivate the auto detecting of mouse and gamepad switching in the Starfield settings, as far as I know.

In the vorpx stable branch you could even select between your motion controllers (Meta, Steam, Pimax etc.) or a mouse + keyboard or gamepad steering, so far as I know. But i didn’t install the stable vorpx for a longer time, i install the vorpx beta, only.

But in general, you can select for example a complete xbox controller override or a partial xbox controller override in the vorpx menu. You can even deactivate the vorpx buttons on the gamepad.

Just play around around with all these settings, you will find a a solution you like.

For other games which forces a mouse steering in vorpx, but you want to play with xbox controller only, the only way 100% solution is to plug off the mouse while in game.

    greets

thanks again for your great work.

Which Version of the game to you use ?

    Steam and other:

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Starfield\

    Microsoft Store:

    xboxGames\Starfield\Content\Starfield.ini

You can activate the vorpx virtual monitor, if you will click right mouse button on the vorpx-config-tool. The menu which you then see includes the option enable the virtual monitor. After that open the windows settings and go to the display and resolution settings. You can see two ore more monitors, and one of them is the vorpx virtual monitor, it is the one which offers your 2884×2880 resolution select it and change the resolution to 2884×2880.

After that change or add to the StarfieldPrefs.ini (!)
    (not the StarfieldCustom.ini)

keep it writeprotected after changes (!)

    [Display]
    bBorderless=0
    bFull Screen=0
    iSize H=2880
    iSize W=2884

In the Starfield ingame graphic settings the resolution has to be greyed out, You have to use a window with white border and buttons all other things. Vorpx will show you a correct output without the window border etc. after vorpx hooked the game on your Headset Display. But it is possible that you have to switch between the displays in the Starfield ingame graphic settings to the vorpx virtual monitor.

I will help you to install my mod, you are very near to the goal !

I just purchased vorpX when I saw Baldur’s Gate 3 was a support application. However, I cannot get past the loading screen. The game launches (in DX 11), hooks successfully, shows the loading screen with the VorpX logo and version information footer, the progress bar works its way up to 100% and then becomes non-responsive. I can hear the audio loads as if it showing the main menu, but the screen is still stuck on the loading screen at 100%. The task manager shows the application as non-responsive. In SteamVR it never loads the game either. It shows a blank “Next Up” window as if it is about to load the app, but never actually launches. If I pause the Watcher so the game loads normally, I can then start Desktop View and it shows fine there. But there is no 3D or full VR support there.

I have been pouring over forum articles and Google searches for the last several hours, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Other games such as Witcher 3 hook and load fine, although I found out that in order to use Full VR I need to install mods to get a first-person camera and adjust the FOV such as Gervants First Person mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/5706). It looks awesome in Full VR and seems like the head tracking will work well if I can fix the perspective issues.

While Popcorn eating and Coke drinking, reading the posts of the kids which expected a perfect game at 100% rating.

Stay cool kids, it’s a Bethesda game ! If you will like the game or is not written on Metacritik or IGN, it is every 5 years the same excitement on Bethesda games. Just play it and if you like it than buy it ! Or you enjoy the real life part of such a big release like that as part of the entertainment of the game and Bethesda and the steam price of a premium edition.

I’ve brought this exact issue up multiple times over the last few years but I’m not confident an option will ever be given to bind different gamepad buttons for menu/edge peek (or better yet, compound buttons so you don’t have to use in-game keys at all).

I’ve found a dirty work-around for it on my xbox series x gamepad. If you go into the steam gamepad settings while on FO76 (or any other Steam game), you should be able to bind the “share” button to a keyboard key. I have two different keys set to the share button–one with a short press of it and the other with a long press. I bound the short press to edgepeek and the long press opens the menu.

Once that’s done, you can disable the actual vorpx gamepad keys (which I’ve found to be useless as the stick buttons and start/select are simply too important in most games to be used for Vorpx) and still access both edgepeek and the menu with the gamepad. This should work with any gamepad that has extra buttons that can be bound in Steam (like the touchpad button on the Dualshock 4/5 gamepads, etc).

Please install the beta again !

What does happen if you activate or deactivate DLSS and Raytracing ?

Have you tried to deactivate the automatic change of game settings in the vorpx-config-tool ?

Have you tried to deactivate the headtracking or change some headtracking settings (for research only) ?

Can you switch from Mouse steering to full gamepad steering ?

Or please make a full reset of your game settings with geforce experience and a full reset of the vorpx profile of the Beta.

Last idea from my side is to make a full factory reset of vorpx and full reset of steam settings of the game and the steam-cache and all cache and game-settings data in the windows folders (Appdata + Roaming + Local + Documents + Saved Games) Please clear your Windows from all other folders associated with voprx and the game, then re-install vorpx beta and the game and add only one single savegame file of your old installation to the new installation of the game.

Thank you again, but I’ll give up at this point for the first. I’ve been trying to get everything to work for days now and once one problem is solved, two new ones appear… I’ll wait for the official release and hope it works. Then I have to play without the motion controls for at the moment.

I agree, just upgraded my PC from an rtx 2070 and 2700x CPU to rtx 4070 Ti and 7800x3d and the metro exodus with G3D and DirectVR is amazing, ultra all the way.
I can’t get the Xbox one controller to work for opening doors/boxes it just flashes between X and E on the long press, the E short press works fine, but think this is a longstanding problem with Metro Exodus. I also need to find a way to get r mapped onto the controller as getting the gun pump accessed in a hurry via the keyboard is a pain. Also turning the map over without having to use the mouse key would be nice.

I tried the enhanced edition (I copied the MetroExodus file in steam folder and renamed it MetroExodus1 and made a shortcut to it on the desktop) first as my son will play flat screen and loves Ray Tracing. He uses it on Minecraft which he also loves.
The 3d effect is severely lacking in the enhanced version and the standard version knocks it out of the park.
I loved the first 2 games in Vorpx and now my PC can handle this one I think it is my favourite game of the series.
Thanks for all your hard work Ralf.

There are games which are collecting too much data during a pass of 100 hours, than you have lower the settings for your CPU, the GPU is rarely the reason of such problems. Vorpx doesn’t cause such problems, it is the game.

Load a savegame of Act 1 and one of Act 3 and make benchmarks with 3D and without 3D !

Sometimes you can delete all cache files of the game and steam and re-install the game and it works again with vorpx in 3D.

I usually play vorpX games with mouse and keyboard, or xbox controller, but on the off chance you’re using VR controllers and SteamVR, you can use Steam’s bindings to create snap turning.

Works perfectly fine here with the EA (Origin) version. Never heard of any Steam-specific issues. Since the game’s last update is a few years old, it’s safe to assume that hasn’t changed.

Hooking issues typically are conflicts with other programs that also hook into games: any sort of GPU/CPU utility, various messengers, game recording apps. etc. try to disable *everything* you may have running in the background. The trouble shooting post on top of this sub forum has more detailed information.

BTW: the game is DX11 only. Adding a -dxXX launch option in Steam does nothing.

Hi. Does the official Titanfall 2 profile still work with the newest Version (version v2.0.11.0)?

I got Titanfall 2 on steam sale. Wanna give it a try, as some Youtubers recommend it. After launching the game window opens and closes immediately. No VorpX hooking message windows, no error message. I tried the alternative hooking method as well. No VorpX hooking message windows, no error message. VorpX works(hooks) just fine with other games like FS22 or Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

    (VorpX)Excluded EA/origin programms: EABackgroundService.exe, EACoreServer.exe, EADesktop.exe, EALauncher.exe, EALaunchHelper.exe, EALink.exe, Link2EA.exe, EALocalHostSvc.exe;
