Topic: question to Ralf.
hello Ralf,
about one week ago i noticed that i was able to “overwrite” official game profiles with my own profiles, in my case shadow of the tomb raider, for that game, i’d prefer to play it in Z3D mode, for performance reason, and because for that game Z3D looks amazing.
today, i tried to launch shadow of the tomb raider and noticed my custom profile was not working, i tried to create another profile and got prompted with “game is already assigned to a profile” which didnt happen a week ago.
so my question is, why was i able to “overwrite” official profiles a week ago and not able to do this anymore ? ^^
Hey Ralf,
Would it be possible to have the profile for Shadow of the Tomb Raider hook in DX12 mode?
The game already has native 3D so I’m wondering if it could be a tweak to Voirtual desktop SBS or something that maybe doesn’t require a lot of work.
SOTTR runs at 60fps locked at 2880×1260 on my 2080Ti… it manages 25-35 FPS in DX11.
There’s no other game which shows such an improvement in DX12 for frame rates and it could improve VorpX performance with this title so much.
Hi Ralf just some fantasy ideas…
Recently Ive played Rise of the Tombraider with my friend sitting next to me.
I have a Toshiba 3d Television and as you maybe know ROTTR puts out SBS to the screen mirror, so I tried my shutter goggles and they worked perfect, so both of us could enjoy 3d at the same time. Would be a killer feature if there would be a option for letting the mirror put all games out in SBS. Dont no if possible.
Second thing would be ;)
Thing is I want to create a profile for TR Temple of Osiris.
If you look into the history both games were developed with the same engine version.
Team was splitted by Square/Enix. Prob is when I try the TR 2013 official profile it only provides z3d :( Searched the forum and there was a G3d profile in former times but shadows were bad, last message was Ralf somehow announced TR 2013 Gd3 support in a upcoming update 2018…
Well I tried other profiles but they did not gave me what I want ,little bit tired now writing this maybe someone saved it as a file ?“We render our graphics in 3D anyway – of course, the screen itself is flat, but if someone owns a 3D adapter and a pair of VR glasses, they can enjoy rudimentary VR,” said Kiciński.
This sounds really really promising for a VorpX implemtation. :)))))
I’m thinking something Tomb Raider like, where it uses the built in 3D. Being a cinema mode lover myself, this would make my minimum requirements.
Hi guys,
after the latest Vorpx Update, I have lost the ability to switch to a 2nd monitor in Shadow of the tomb raider (and Rise also) which automatically gave me some 3k resolution (I cant remember the exact resolutions but it was 39?? by 26??). I am now stuck at just monitor 1 with 1080p being the highest. It certainly does not look nearly as good as what I had originally.
I never added any custom resolutions,SOTR and ROTR automatically gave me the option to switch monitors and gave me this super high resolution.
Anyway to get it back? Or ha anyone else had the same thing happen?
SOTR was one of the most EPIC vorpx games ive played :)I wanted to just start the discussion of what it might take to move VorpX to the DX12 era.
As the title of this post says, Crossire (author of Reshade) does indeed have a (work in progress) version of Reshade: reshade.me/forum/releases/5150-4-2?start=60#33312
That version has successfully been tested on Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
NOW I NOT SAYING THAT A HOOK IN RESHADE MEANS VORPX TOMORROW!!
And Ralph – if this is old news to you, then that’s cool – but I thought it might add something to the discussion in the community.
Rather (I’m guessing) that hooking DX12 must be one of the problems to be solved.
I am not asking “when will we get VorpX for DX12?” – DX12 compatibility is still a work in progress for reshade so any discussion around VorpX would be wishful thinking at this point.
What I think would be interesting to know is the community desire for such a product at this point. For example:
1. Prioritize over other functionality (e.g. prioritize over new game profiles; developer features)
2. Additional funding (e.g. MartyMcFly Patreon for funding Raytracing Reshade)
I believe that DX12 support would probably need a change in community expectations – we show interest to go “all in” and see that as a trade-off against other features that might have been possible instead.
Or it becomes clear from the discussion at this point, that interest isn’t there yet.
It will be interesting to find out
